Bassy saved my wedding dress and my wedding day! I had originally gone to another tailor recommended by the boutique where I purchased my strapless princess gown. Unfortunately, the work done at the other tailor's shop left my dress butchered. When I realized something was wrong with the original tailoring, it was two months before my wedding. I was distraught because I didn't think a new tailor would take me due to the limited time before my wedding and it being right before bridal and prom season. However, someone recommended I contact Bassy and I'm so grateful for their rec! Bassy listened to my concerns regarding my dress and what the other tailor had planned to do to it, advised me to take back my dress straight away, and booked me for an appointment ASAP. Within a week Bassy had me in her shop to assess all the damage that had been done by the previous tailor: (1) the hem was uneven by inches; (2) the train was lopsided; (3) the bustle was just a loop and a button that would be visible and unsecure; (4) the bodice was taken in so much that three people were needed to zip me up, which (5) left the zipper of my dress straining and puckering; (6) so much of the bust was trimmed away that my chest was exposed whenever I moved; and (7) they made a sash instead of the custom shawl I ordered for my ceremony. The worst part about the original tailoring work is that so much fabric was cut away there was barely any fabric left to correct the shoddy work. My dress was in really horrible shape and I knew I wouldn't be able to find or order another dress in time for my wedding. Despite the multiple problems with my dress, Bassy assured me she would find solutions for the above issues and she did! Bassy evened out the dress' hem by rehemming it and removing a portion of its petticoat to ensure it kissed the floor evenly. For the train, she adjusted it so it would be symmetrical and less oblong. It looked gorgeous trailing behind me as I walked down the aisle. The bodice was a tricky fix, but Bassy executed it perfectly! To expand the bodice, she needed extra fabric and found it within the seam allowance of the bodice's panels. She undid every panel, let out a little bit of fabric from each, and carefully stitched the bodice back up so that each panel was even and proportional. She was able to expand the bodice while also making it look like it hadn't been deconstructed. Bassy's work allowed me to properly breath while wearing my dress and my mother was able to zip me up by herself with no trouble! Bassy also created a custom shawl for me that looked like something Audrey Hepburn would wear! The attention to detail is so incredible! Bassy made the shawl so there was a slight curve in the front that elegantly hugs my collar bone. I love this shawl so much I plan to continue wearing it for special events. The most incredible fix Bassy made to my dress is the bust. I thought I'd have to wear my shawl the entire wedding. Instead, she came up with the incredible idea to build up the bust of my dress with additional fabric. The original bust had a cat eye neckline with draping across it. Bassy was able to expand the bust above my chest and next to my underarms to give me more coverage. She did this by building up fabric that mimics the original bustline's shape. The final result is beautiful! No one would ever know that the work Bassy did was not part of the dress' original design. I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing and transformative work Bassy did to my dress, her professionalism, her expert advice, and her direct and honest communication. She always set realistic expectations and provided alternative solutions that would not compromise the integrity of my dress or its overall style. Bassy is also just a lovely person to be around. I was really sad about the state my dress was left in by the previous tailor. With each visit to Bassy's (and she booked me for as many as needed to get my dress perfect), I felt better and more confident. Bassy saved my dress, my wedding, and my peace of mind. THANK YOU BASSY!!! read more

Very expensive! Piles of uniforms left ontop of a table and a dress half folded onto of the piles. My dress was almost going to be left unzipped in my broken bag. Very very expensive! I found somewhere else and it was more reasonable! read more

I recently had several alterations done at Bassy's Tailoring, and I can honestly say this was the most amazing tailoring experience I have ever had. Bassy hemmed several pairs of pants, took in the waist on others, and completely altered a vintage dress for me. The dress needed extra room, and she expertly removed the belt and expanded the side seams so seamlessly that you would never be able to tell any alterations were made. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are absolutely unbelievable. Bassy is truly a talented artist, and her work speaks for itself. If you need tailoring or alterations done right, I cannot recommend her enough. Absolutely exceptional work! read more

Outstanding work done when promised. The suit was nice to begin with, but Bassy turned it into a showpiece. Beautiful work. Highly recommended. read more

Bassy did such a wonderful job tailoring the dress I'm wearing for my sister's wedding. She made multiple alterations to the neckline, hem, and bust and was so quick. Everything was done within two weeks, from initial drop-off/measurement to picking up the dress, with one follow-up fitting in between. It fits like a glove - like it truly was always made for me. If I ever need more alterations to my clothes, I will call Bassy! read more

Bassy was amazing and delivered what she promised when she promised. She was extremely nice and accommodating as well.

I was prepping for a fitness show and bikini I ordered form a company didn't fit. Bassy calmly took my frantic call and told me to come in. She went above and beyond for me as this was a major time crunch I was in. She not only was so helpful and quick but she is a master at her craft!! I drive 45 minutes away just to go to her! read more

Bassy does extremely detailed work. I brought her a bridesmaids dress to be altered, she perfected the hem and recommended bringing in the straps which really made the dress fit perfectly. She is on the pricier side (per my understand of alteration work, I have only seen one other person) but she is every penny worth it. read more

Bassy is amazing! She's very friendly and very skilled at her craft. I've brought shirts, pants, and a bridesmaid dress to her and she does excellent work every time. The thing I'm really here to discuss is the work she did on my wedding dress. I received my dress three weeks before my wedding and it was way too small. Bassy completely fixed it and created a beautiful dress! I never would have been able to wear that dress if it weren't for her. She put in an incredible amount of work, and it showed. I was absolutely in love with it. I highly suggest her! I love you, Bassy! read more

BASSY SAVED MY WEDDING!!!! Listen, I bought my dress and it fit PERFECTLY. Apparently, without noticing, I stress ate before my wedding and 10 days before my destination wedding to Las Vegas, I tried on my dress to find out that it definitely did not fit. I sent her a message online, on a Saturday night, frantic, providing my phone number and begging for help. She called me back that night because she didn't want me to worry, and had me in there on Monday Morning to start altering my dress. She squeezed me in for 3 fittings over 10 days and literally saved my wedding. I absolutely will never be able to thank her enough. She made the dress I loved, not only fit again, but made some improvements to it and I loved it even more. Do not go anywhere else!! read more

Bassy is absolutely amazing! I brought my wedding dress to her which needed a lot of alterations on the top and you would have thought I ordered a custom gown. I teared up at my last fitting because I was so happy and comfortable in my dress! read more

We brought my daughter's wedding gown to Bassy's based on positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was not at all positive. Each return appointment, the alterations that we had decided on, were not completed or, had not been completed correctly. Each appointment cost us hundreds of dollars, for work that was not complete. Our total paid is $1380.00, and her gown is botched, the alterations are not complete, and we have been forced find another shop to finish her gown. Her wedding is a little over a month away. If we had been told that the alterations were going to cost $1380.00, and the work had been the high quality we were expecting, we would have been very happy! Instead, we are left to be hopeful her gown can be repaired and the basic alterations needed can be done in time for her wedding. read more

I waited last minute to buy shoes and try on my bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding, and I mean a week before. I thought I could get away with the length with a bigger heal and I was wrong. Bassy was the only person in the area I contacted that could get my dress hemmed within 2 days on the 4th of July weekend. She was wonderful and quick, the dress is beautiful and the perfect length. I now plan to go to her when I pick out my wedding dress and need alterations. read more

All I can say is, "Yikes!" My regular seamstress was on vacation for 3 weeks, and I needed to get my girls' pointe shoes sewn, which includes a piece of elastic to keep shoes from falling off and the ribbons sewn inside. I paid over $40 PER PAIR OF SHOES!!!! And we provided the elastic bands and ribbons!!! $20 PER SHOE!!! Pointe shoes cost a little over $100! I honestly would've just done them myself or waited had I known I would be so ripped off! Absolutely ridiculous! I don't care how good of a job is done sewing 1 elastic band and 1 set of ribbons on pointe shoes, $40 is absolutely ridiculous! There is no way this could have taken that much time to do! We'll never go back. read more

Bassy is a lifesaver! She is always happy to help with any needs whether they are big, small or needed in a pinch. She helped me with a bridesmaid dress that was not at all flattering to my shape and made me feel so much better in it by adjusting the top to my needs and taking the sides in perfectly. She helped me two days before my bridal shower when the strap on my dress broke and she is going to help me with a bridesmaids dress coming in 5 days before my friends wedding during busy wedding season! I would be lost without Bassy's services. Thank you thank you thank you! read more

Bassy is an amazing seamstress! She's the only one in the area that works with leather. I just picked up my suede riding chaps yesterday. She altered them and shortened them perfect! I will definitely be returning here for all my alterations! Fair prices and Bassy will work with you if you have a time frame in which you need! I'm elated that I found Bassy! 110% recommend!! Very friendly which is a big plus in my book! You won't be disappointed! read more

Bassy made my wedding dress fit like a glove! She did an amazing job hemming my dress that had both lace and beading detail. She shortened the straps, fixed the scalloped back to be flush against my back, added cups, added a bustle, and took in the sides. She was also able to tailor my husbands suit last minute! I highly recommend her! read more

Amazing work, worth every penny!! The bridal gown I fell in love with was wayyy too big for me, but she made it perfect! Her attention to detail with every bead and piece of lace really made my dress better than I imagined. She was mindful of my upcoming date without rushing, and had me come in for multiple fittings before making the final touches to make sure it was perfect. She is also hilarious and a great confidence booster! Highly recommend! read more

Bassy did a phenomenal job on my wedding dress! I cannot express how impressed I was with her work. I called her after another seamstress in providence told me that my dress was not able to be altered because it was way too complicated. Bassy was amazing, she did the alterations on a tight timeline and kept the original structure of the dress. Was worth ever penny and I cannot recommend her enough! read more

Bassy's Tailoring - Incredible job with an insanely difficult hem - Bridal Near Me - Norton, Massachusetts

Had to have my dress for my son's wedding hemmed. When i tried it on for Bassy she suggested a minor alteration at the shoulders and pinned it up so i could see. What a difference! The dress fit me well before but after the minor change it looked like it was made just for me! She has a wonderful eye for detail. I would highly recommend Bassy for all your tailoring needs. read more

Bassy's Tailoring is exceptional. I don't agree with other reviews that compare the cost of alteration to the original cost of the garment; Bassy is doing top-notch, impeccable tailoring whether it's a wedding dress or a $50 dress. Bassy tailors all of my work clothes - dresses, suits, pants, etc. Not only does she do exactly what I ask, but she UNDERSTANDS how garments should be constructed and worn. I now buy fewer clothes and spend my money on quality pieces that Bassy can make fit me perfectly and I can wear many times over. read more

Went in to have a bridesmaid dress hemmed and taken in. Should have asked about pricing up front but she took me right in and started marking up the dress for alterations. Had I known that it would cost $60 per layer to hem I would have walked away. Took four visits to the shop, it would've been three but she forgot to put one of the appointments on her calendar and I had to head back home. I also had a long wait before most of my appointments. Alterations cost almost $200 and in the end I was still stepping on the dress but did not have time for more fittings. At the wedding I also noticed that she left chalk marks on the black dress. Would not recommend for bridesmaid dress. read more

I went to Bassy's Tailoring after reading great reviews on the Yellow pages app. My experience with Bassy was wonderful due to the reviews I read. I ordered my dress online for my youngest daughter's upcoming wedding. When I received the dress, I loved it but I couldn't zip it up all the way. It was tight around the chest area and needed to be let out. Because there was so much beading involved, I was concerned that it wouldn't be possible to alter it. Bassy assured me it could be fixed. It was going to be a huge job letting it out, taking off the beads and hand sewing the beads back on. I also needed it hemmed and the shoulders had to be taken up. When the dress was finished, I tried it on and fell in love with it. She did an amazing job. I also recommended her to my other daughter who needed her dress altered for her sister's wedding. Bassy is very talented and also a wonderful lady. I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again when needed. Thank you so very much. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because yes, she is an incredibly talented seamstress. Although my dress came out great, I was not happy with my experience with her and won't be returning... a friend of mine recommended her, saying that her prices are very reasonable, but that wasn't the case. I brought a dress in for my senior ball that needed to be done in 2 weeks. I understand it's a rush, but she said it was no problem whatsoever. I asked her to hem it to my ankles so it wouldn't drag on the floor, and when I went in for my first fitting, it was still dragging on the floor! She claimed I didn't request it to be that short but I SPECIFICALLY told her, "I'd like it ankle length, I do not want it dragging on the floor while I'm dancing" and she agreed to it. Also, had I known it would cost $50 PER LAYER to hem a dress before she started the work, I would've walked out. I could've received the same quality work done by my usual seamstress for $8 had she not been overbooked with prom dresses. I also asked her to sew on some sequin rope around the neckline and waist and I believe that cost $40, so at least THAT was reasonable considering it had to be hand-sewn... However, even though it was her mistake that she didn't hem my dress short enough, I had to argue with her about paying for HER mistake and "meet her halfway" with the price of hemming it again. I couldn't believe that. All the business she gets and she insisted on more money to fix HER mistake? In the end, I ended up paying around $160 to tailor an $80 dress. I was a broke college student and had to take it out of my savings and it was NOT worth it. She needs to make customers more aware of her prices BEFORE she makes marks on the dresses, and listen better or at least own up to her mistakes and not charge the customer for her mistakes. There is no reason her prices should be so high with the amount of business she gets. My local seamstress charged me $32 to hem 4 layers and take in my old prom dress... can't argue with those prices. read more

Way too expensive. Over $200 for dress alterations for one dress ad $300 for another. Not happy.

I went to Bassy's to tailor my wedding dress. She responded quickly to my request for an initial appointment and was always super quick with scheduling follow up appointments. Not only was she fast, her work was incredible. My dress came out perfect and her creative thinking with the bustle was great. Not only did she do my dress, we ended up taking my fiances suit, my mother-in-laws dress, and my father-in-laws suit as well. All jobs were completed beautifully. Needless to say, our family will be going to Bassy's next time we need something tailored. read more

Bassy is pure genius. She has worked wonders on my sister's wedding gown and mother's MOB dress! She was able to make an ill fitting gown into something that looked completely custom made. After being in a handful of weddings and a bride myself ... I wish I found her a long time ago! Great location. Great little salon. Great experience. This woman knows her stuff. Totally recommend! read more

I love Bassy's Tailoring! She has done many alterations for myself and my daughter including a lace wedding dress that she reconfigured making strapless, taking in, adding a beautiful jeweled waistline accent, hemming and more!! She even took swimming tops, that I had purchased that I loved but was showing too much skin for me on the sides, and pulled up and in so that no more skin was showing! I have gotten so many compliments on these bathing suit tops that I never would have if it weren't for Bassy doing what she does best. I have been going to Bassy for years and I've always had the greatest experience! there's nothing she can't do! Her prices are spot on reasonable, and are based on the time she needs to invest and her expertise. You definitely get what you pay for from Bassy!! read more

This woman does great work and I would definitely take a wedding dress here, but not a bridesmaids dress! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the price. Taking in and hemming a bridesmaids dress cost $150. To me, this is a lot to spend on tailoring a dress I will never wear again, when I've already paid about the same price for the dress as it is. (the tailoring ended up costing more than I paid for the dress) Again she did a great job and the finished result was great, but if I had known the cost before hand I would have opted for a different tailor for this particular occasion. read more
