Came for my first ever bridal dress try on with just my mom. Sam was AMAZING. I sent her a few styles I liked beforehand, and she not only grabbed the ones I liked as well as getting similar styles. This process was so seamless because of her attention to detail and ability to find styles based on what I did and didn't like. When looking to say yes to the dress, I only went to Alexandra's Boutique. Their website is organized, easy to set up an appointment & send over a list of dresses you're interested in trying on. Their alterations department can run $800+. I was nervous to take my dress anywhere else, so I had them alter it for me. I live in Rhode Island and tried to find a place for alterations closer to home, but most were already booked up for their wedding season- even 7 months before the wedding date. I thought it was a bit guache that they had sewn in breast liners into the dress without asking, and then charged an extra fee for it, at that point what was another $20/$30. My dress and cathedral length veil fit like a glove, so I can't complain. The parking lot is an absolute nightmare to get into and out of. If you're coming from the S Main Street to turn into the side alleyway, it is like a game of chicken with the other cars. read more

My only complaint is that there were several men sitting in the dressing area where girls are coming from dressing rooms, often halfway out of the dress and needing to be zipped, etc. no reason a man should be sitting there observing all these strange girls, and there were several men doing this. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Sandy at Alexandra's. As a plus size bride, my anxiety and nerves were through the roof. However, the communication prior to the appointment and at the appointment calmed my nerves so much. Sandy was an absolute blessing and I am so grateful for her. Her ability to pick up on my body language and pivot the dresses she was picking based on feedback to her extremely specific and thoughtful questions ultimately landed me in THE ONE. Warning to future brides: while this store is very large and has an extensive selection of dresses, my experience here was extremely negative due to high-pressure sales tactics. My stylist was Megan D. During the appointment, I found a dress that I really loved, but something about it didn't feel like "my dress". Instead of helping me thoughtfully work through those feelings (which is such an important part of this process), Megan immediately began pressuring me with comments like: "Why don't you like it?" "You won't find anything else like this," and "You won't feel this way in any other dress." This made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, guilty, and rushed. It became obvious that she was frustrated with me for not being ready to commit (I just started looking for dresses and was 2 years out from my wedding date). She abruptly took me out of the dress and gave me barely five minutes to run around the store and pick other options. I tried on more dresses, but I still felt drawn to the original one -- yet the pressure continued. When I told her I didn't want to make a decision that day, she warned me that there was "no promise" the dress would be there if I came back and pushed me to put down a deposit to hold it 3-5 times. When I declined the deposit each time, I explained that if the dress wasn't there later, I felt that it simply wasn't meant to be. But she responded, "Well, that breaks my heart because you won't feel this way in any other dress." While I understand that a stylist cannot guarantee a dress will still be available at a later date, making a bride feel rushed and pressured is not productive. It was clear that Megan was not genuinely interested in understanding what I wanted, envisioned, or felt. I know that at the end of the day, this is a business and her job is to sell dresses, but I should not have left my appointment feeling drained, discouraged, and as though I had wasted my time. It was very clear throughout the process at Alexandra's that the focus was on making a sale, not on my comfort or experience. read more

I chose this boutique because it is almost every New England gal's choice to find their wedding dress. They have three floors of beautiful wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride dresses and accessories. My stylist, Jasmine, was amazing! Her personality, confidence, knowledge and warmth made me feel so comfortable and ready to tackle the challenge. She reached out to me a few weeks before my appointment to send her dresses from their website for Jasmine to get a sense of my dress style. The store only had one dress in store that I sent her but it did not matter because there were so many other dresses and I found my wedding dress that was not even on my radar! Jasmine was amazing at finding the style I wanted and listening to my needs. I highly recommend booking with her if you choose to go Alexandra's. They have a huge parking lot in the back of the store which is a plus and have many appointments available on their website. If I could give this experience a 0, I would. The people at the front desk were sweet but my bridal consultant, Sandra (Sandy) Jackson, was anything but. This was my first time going wedding dress shopping. It started off okay but there were some red flags. Red flag #1 - Sandy asked me who was coming. I told her my sister, my mom and my wedding planner. She was thoroughly confused by that and asked if my wedding planner was my friend. I'm say no, bridal styling is in the package. Her next word was "interesting". Red flag #2 - I signed up for this appointment during a bridal expo. It included a bottle of champagne which is the only reason I made the appointment. My sister and I noticed the bottle of champagne but it was off to the side. Not once did Sandy offer us water, champagne, snacks, anything. It wasn't until the end of the appointment that she said "oh, you didn't drink any champagne". You didn't offer it nor opened it for us! Red flag #3 - As I mentioned above, my appointment ended early. 40 minutes to be exact! It was supposed to be 5-7 and it ended at 6:20pm She picked out the dresses I sent to her and I did not like the way I looked in them (I'm pretty busty compared to the models). After a few dresses, Sandy started to get frustrated as she didn't want to keep pulling from an inventory of 4,000 dresses without direction. Isn't that what bridal consultants are supposed to do especially if this is a bride's first time every shopping for a wedding gown????? After we changed gears with the type of dress I was looking for, she said "I don't really recommend this too often but you might be better suited going to a self service like David's bridal. After you see what they have available, come back to me so you can say yes to dress" David's Bridal?!?!?! If I wanted to go there, I would've went there. Sandy is condescending, became rude, and is very unwelcoming. When we were leaving, she then mentions the champagne and says "I can put it on ice for when you come back since you paid for it." She will continue to have that on ice because I will NEVER go back to Alexandra's Boutique. This being my first bridal dress experience was HORRENDOUS. I would not recommend Sandy no Alexandra's Boutique to anyone! Maybe if you leave in Fall River or Southcoast but if you have to drive more than 10 min (we drove over an hour), I warn you, DON'T GO! read more

Went here a few weeks ago for a Dress try-on and was assigned Keryn for the day. I spoke over email and the phone with Keryn before even meeting her and she was the most welcoming and knowledgeable stylist I have ever met. It has been a few weeks since my appt and my family and I cannot stop talking about how great she (and Christina - when passing through) were during out appt. Funny, warm, considerate and so down to earth. She researched my venue before the appt to understand my complete vision and knew exactly what I wanted and how to properly bring my vision to life in 1 dress. When providing feedback to Keryn, at times I could not come up with complete sentences to describe what I did/didn't like and she pulled the completed thoughts out of my brain and helped me verbalize my feelings while finding more dresses to narrow down my styles. She also pulled dresses that I said were hard no's so that I could be sure of my vision, and avoid any future dress regret, without pressuring me into any uncomfortable-ness. I bought my dress the same day, thanks to Keryn, and in turn received a cute belt bag and coupons for future use/visits. Cannot recommend Keryn enough and so happy we were assigned to her. read more

I had a really great experience at Alexandra's shopping for my wedding dress. I worked with Sandy, who sent an intro email beforehand so she could get a better idea of what I was looking for and I was able to send her pics of dress I liked from online. Day of, she was wonderful! She pulled a great variety of dresses to start that really allowed me to try on dresses like the ones I send and ones that offered things I had not considered like lace and other detailing. At the start I was a little overwhelmed, but Sandy helped me stay in the moment and focus on one dress at a time. I found my dress during my first appointment (something different than what I originally imagined myself in!). My dress was less than the the top end of my budget, which I appreciated, and ended up coming in months earlier than they estimated. I always made an appointment and was seen right on time. They reached out ahead of my first visit asking for inspiration photos so my stylist could begin to cull a list of dresses for me to try. Their website is very organized and easy to use. Kylie was my stylist - a lovely young woman who knows her 'stuff'. She always made me feel comfortable. She knew what colors the dresses all came in (I had a very particular color need), so she steered me away from styles that were not options. I went back multiple times and she was patient and kind each time. I finally said yes to my dress today, and it was not one I had initially intended on looking at at the beginning. Great selection, somewhat pricey, not impressed overall. When I was considering a particular dress late December 2024 the salesperson said I would probably receive my dress in January, beginning of February at the latest but call after New Year's Day to confirm. After contract was signed. Called after New Year's Day and was told by 2nd week of March I'll get it. Basically, "don't worry about it". I would not have chosen this dress for an early April wedding if I had received accurate information when ordering. Disappointing. read more

Drove over an hour to come here last Sunday for a prom dress. Check-in was smooth. It's a little confusing at first but I was able to find 5 dresses to try on. One of the dresses I pulled, though, had blood stains on it! I showed an associate & she played it off like "Oh it's a little dirty" and asked if I still wanted to try it on? Um, NO thank you. I am 100% certain it was blood. I'm not talking a small dot. One part was the size of 3 or 4 quarters. Anyway, there was a customer who pulled a pink dress that I loved, so I kept an eye on if she was going to purchase it. She didn't. When she left the dressing room, I asked an associate if I could try on the pink dress she left behind. The associate took the dress, asked what size I was and then said "It's a size 4" (I am a 0". I know it was my size but let it go and finished up trying on my dresses. When I was done, I asked my stylist about that same pink dress. She went to find the associate who told me it was not my size and the girl literally acted like she didn't know what we were talking about! It was not even 3 minutes prior that I asked her to try it on. I was so annoyed by this time that I told them to forget it. Oh and guess what? It WAS my size! In the end, I did find my dress there BUT the beading was falling off and the threads were coming apart from people trying it on. My mom googled the dress while were were in the store and found it online for more than 1/2 the price! Dress arrived to my house today and I'm so happy to have only spent $210 for a dress that was brand new & not $450 on one that was worn looking and falling apart. It's gorgeous! Now I can spend that money I saved on nails, shoes and hair. Will not be recommending this place to anyone. If anything, I'll tell them to stay away. read more

She knew exactly the perfect dresses to bring me after seeing a dress I had already chosen but wasn't 100% certain on. After finding my own dress and having a phenomenal experienceI returned to Alexandra's this week to help a friend shop for her wedding dress with a bit of a time crunch. Even though we were limited due to needing to have the dress in and altered in about 12 weeks, there was a wonderful selection and the stylist went above and beyond. Once she found the dress she fell in love with looking to purchase the sample to take home same day, we noticed a hole in the illusion fabric in the chest. The team was able to work quickly to source a new dress so she should be able to pick up her dream dress with enough time to get altered for the wedding! They also called us on the drive home because they caught a potential sizing issue and wanted to talk through it before officially putting the dress order through. Sandy was truly amazing! I had a 1.5 time slot and was there for 3 hours!!!!! Sandy made me feel comfortable the entire time; she was in the room with me helping me put on the dresses. She has such an amazing knowledge of the store's inventory - it was incredibly impressive. I showed her two inspiration pictures and she told me she had both of the dresses and came back in 5 minutes with both of them (this is a huge feat as the store has the biggest inventory in the East Coast). She also asked me my budget ahead of time and was respectful to not bring me anything that was over my budget. She also brought dresses she knew would come in on time considering my wedding is 8 months away. Sandy was nothing but patient as I kept going back and forth between two dresses. Alexandra's Boutique was hands down the best experience I have had dress shopping. I went to 5 different stores total and nothing compares. They gave me a little gift box as well as myself and my 3 guests champagne to celebrate saying yes to the dress! Sandy reached out to me before my appointment to get my budget, timeline, and inspiration pictures. During my appointment, I had multiple other managers come and help me find different accessories like satin gloves, a hoop skirt or petticoats, and a veil to match the dress. I NEVER write yelp reviews however I am deeply disappointing experience my fiance had at Alexandra's Boutique. Despite making an online appointment weeks in advance and confirming it, my fiance encountered significant unprofessionalism from the staff. Firstly, the staff member, Sandy, was dismissive and condescending, questioning my fiance's online appointment changes and implying her budget was unrealistic. Secondly, the in-store experience was equally frustrating. The stylist seemed disinterested and failed to present the dress styles my fiance had previously expressed interest in. Instead, she brought out dresses in different sizes and different styles creating further frustration. My fiance, who generally avoids confrontation, felt compelled to address the stylist's lack of assistance, unprofessionalism and passive aggressiveness. Only then did Sandy apologize, and the manager briefly checked in. Also, Sandy was not the woman who my fiancé made an appointment with. She was never told why she was switched to another women. This unfortunate experience completely overshadowed what should have been an exciting milestone. I felt it necessary to share this feedback to warn other brides and encourage the salon to improve its customer service. read more

If you are lucky enough to get the chance to book with Sandy at Alexandra's - DO IT! Long story short, this was my third dress shopping appointment - my 2nd time shopping at Alexandra's. A week before working with Sandy, I came into the store with a big group and worked with a different stylist. We had a blast, but I ended up purchasing a dress that hours later I wasn't sure about anymore. I felt like I hadn't seen or tried on as much as I wanted to in order to really decide on a dress, and I was having major regrets and anxiety about it. Alexandra's was able to cancel my order and put my deposit towards a different bridal gown in the store. When I arrived for my appointment with Sandy, she was so welcoming and friendly. She took the time to get to know me and hear about all of the details of my wedding day. We talked about the previous dress I'd bought and I told her what I liked/didn't like about it. I also told her that I didn't feel like I'd seen or tried on enough styles/fabrics/details to really make a decision. Even though this was technically a returning bridal appointment, Sandy treated it like it was my first time. She pulled all kinds of different styles to make sure I found one that I liked. Once we narrowed it down to a style, we tried all different kinds of detailing - lace, beading, appliques, glitter, etc. Sandy really listened to my feedback, and each round of dresses she pulled brought us closer and closer to finding the right one. I ended up leaving with a new dress that I am in love with - so much so that I didn't want to take it off! I am so thankful to have worked with Sandy. During our appointment, I never felt rushed or pressured. She continuously reminded me that my feelings and opinions are valid, and truly wanted me to make sure that I found a dress that I felt my very best in. Wedding planning has been crazy, but this appointment with Sandy was one of the first times that I've really felt like a bride. Went over to Alexandra's Too on Sunday with my mother and soon to be mother in law to go dress shopping (for just my mother in law) but we ended the appointment with TWO MATCHING DRESSES for my mother and soon to be mother in law. Our stylist was Dwayne and he's honestly iconic. Besides making us the most comfortable we've ever been in a stylist session he had so many good ideas, understood the assignment, and was the best hype man we could ever ask for. I'm getting married next May and I've gotten my bridal gown here (with Kayla, who is also iconic and THE BEST), both my mother and my soon to be mothers dresses here, and I plan on bringing my sister in laws as well!! I've never had a nicer easier bridal experience than I have here, at Alexandra's in both bridal and mother of the bride department. The team is very knowledgeable about the inventory and designers, and did a great job of listening to what I wanted when selecting dresses for me. This is the place if you want the Say Yes to the Dress vibe (which I did lol). Over 6000 dresses in stock and their bridal stylists know their stuff. I would give 5 stars to the shopping experience and the actual dress. Taking away one star because after you buy the dress I didn't feel that communication wasn't that great when I was trying to buy extra lace pieces as well as the person who helped me try on my actual dress when it came in kept stepping on my dress. My bridesmaid actually had to tell her to be careful. read more

This store is very well known and it is very busy. It's very overstimulating and because of that I wouldn't recommend brides to go here. Wedding dress shopping is a vulnerable experience, connected to lots of raw emotions and a busy, fast paced environment can make the experience emotionally confusing if you aren't sure of what dress you want. Nonetheless, my experience felt similar to when you buy a car and you're getting a sales pitch (in the classiest way possible). Every interaction felt like a possible transaction for them. I felt pressured in more than one occasion (I've been here three times for three different things) to make a downpayment. NOTE: this is a full service shop, meaning the helper picks dresses for you, you don't get to look around at the dresses they have. I understand why they do it this way, but there are many other shops that let you look at dresses... and that can make all the difference. read more
