I bought my wedding dress here and they are BY FAR the only place I will recommend!! Theresa encouraged me to try on a dress I wasn't sure about, that was actually BELOW my price range and I absolutely fell in love - my mom too. They worked with us as far as a payment plan and were just 100% professional and wonderful. One of the ladies (I'm sorry, I believe her name was Steph?) gave me some really great advice about wedding planning and some family I wasn't 100% sure on inviting to the wedding & everyone else I encountered was just absolutely lovely. I called the store to find out if they carried Mother of the Bride dresses with the following criteria: color palette, modest with at least short sleeves or longer, and in my price range. I was told on the phone, yes, most of our Mother of the Bride dresses have sleeves and they all can be ordered in your specific color. I asked how many and the woman who answered told me many. I then asked if I could make an appointment to shop. She told me I had to make the appointment online. Before I hung up, I reiterated exactly what I was looking for and that they could accommodate my specific needs and was told yes, no problem. I then went online and tried to book the appointment but kept getting 'kicked off' the page. I called back and asked for the appointment and the sales lady was happy to help me once I explained the website wasn't allowing it. Tonight I went for my appointment. The store only had 1 dress that fit my criteria. I left very annoyed and frustrated! I will not be returning as they can not meet my needs. read more

Took my daughter here for prom last year and left with 2 dresses, felt it was a great experience. Very different this year, after trying on several dresses, my daughter found one but she wanted to add a leg slit to it. We were told by our assistant that a tailor could add a slit. We purchased the dress for $250 only to find out from 3 tailors that adding a slit was not possible since it is sequins and there was no seam to work with. My daughter was very disappointed. To add insult to injury the tag on the gown states the designer is Lucy in the Sky and their website sells the same dress for $70. Not only were we given bad advice, the mark up on the dress is exorbitant. Now we own an over priced gown that will hang, unworn, in the closet......buyer beware. Because they had a sale at Christmas they upsold me a dress to a plus size to get there money back!!! The dress was 3 sizes up! The dress came in and I knew waist would need alterations so no try on,, get home notice color was slate blue not light blue..and dark blue material pieces sewn into dress sleeve and shawl. This is a Mon Cheri Montage dress 600. Called and spoke with owner and was told to drive back. They tell me they were going to take it to the seamstress just to be repaired.. apparently they chose to do it themselves. Dress sleeves matched, but shawl did not. they made me drive back out again and gave me a completely different Shawl that did not match the dress.. at this point I called the manufacturer and they said it's up to store to handle. The store says that they gave a shawl for free. I should be thankful. alterations bill came to $250. I advise them of how much it was costing me because of so much bigger then it needed to be. Advise me the newest seamstress that could've done it for $100. That is absolutely impossible. I would not recommend this to anyone! do not sign any contract that says you cannot return it because the color is different or they messed up the size. Final product in the end was beautiful, but it ended up costing me a lot more money than it should have! Buyer Beware! I'm happy to provide a receipt as well. Take a look at my pictures. They lucky they even got a 1. This place is a sham. It's a wedding consignment store. Dresses are worn and sold as is at the highest price. The VIB on their website mentions 3 hours for bride to be and up to 8 guest to pick out a dress for bride, promising "bubbly and bites" but what you get is cheap cheese, ritz crackers , tiny mini cupcakes and tiny bottles of water. I kid you not. Look at the photo. A total of $5 but they charge you $200. These folks can give a damn about their customers. I had the worst experience. The dress I almost picked out was torn and button loose, they only took off 100$ plus the 20% already marked off, still totaling $1100 plus. Before I scheduled my appointment, I tried calling, but they have this wack ass message on their voicemail about having high call volume but You can never reach them by phone because they have used covid as a crutch. And when they do call you back they always seem to be rushing as it they are extremely busy. To avoid having to answer any questions. It's terrible customer service. I will never come back here again. The woman that helped me pick out the dress seemed impatient and attitudie, trying to be pleasant but rushing with hidden remarks. I kid you not. I went to several well known local bridal shops. None of them at all matched the full experience we had here. Every single person was nice from walking in and making an appointment, to coming in and actually finding the dress. They never once shamed me or turned me away for trying to stick to my budget. Ashley was phenomenal. It's like she knew what I wanted before I did. She was highly knowledgeable about the stock, timelines for custom dresses and shipping, alterations, and very hands on. She listened to exactly what I wanted, had a wonderful process of elimination, laser skill on sizing, and I felt she had my best interest at heart with design, skill and quality. Party Dress Express was by far the best shopping experience I had out of all the bridal salons I visited on the quest for THE dress. Denise, my consultant, was AMAZING! I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the market for any kind of gown... bridal, bridesmaid, mother of the bride/groom, prom, formal galas, etc! Years and years ago I bought a prom dress here and the selection was (and still appeared to be) massive. This time around, I was equally pleased with the number of bridal gowns to peruse. Conveniently organized by designer, my group and I were given the freedom to look through the dresses ourselves. As I pulled gowns I liked, Denise got a feel for what I was looking for and pulled a couple of beautiful gowns that were right in line with my style. Their clearance section was fantastic as well, so many gowns at severely discounted prices. The dressing rooms were spacious with large mirrors... and I'll tell you, this made all the difference. There was only 1 other store I went to that had a mirror in the dressing room and it was really nice to have a moment to myself to decide what I liked and didn't like before displaying it for my entourage. The pedestals with mirrors outside the changing area were very prominent and well lit making it easy to get great views and photos from all angles to aid in the decision making process (see photos... none are THE dress but you get an idea of the mirrors and viewing area). Denise was not at all pushy and was there whenever I needed to get zipped/buttoned/tied into a dress and to point out details for everyone to view. I did find THE dress here but ended up buying at a store nearer to my home that had a brand new sample of the dress in my size in-store that they were willing to let me purchase at a fantastic price. Had my decision been driven by anything else, I would have purchased here at Party Dress Express. Prior to finding the sample, this location offered the cheapest price out of any for the dress. As anyone with eyes can see the dress is defective and is huge , it will now cost her half price dress if not more to fix it . The dress has to be completely reconstructed , yes completely remade just to fix all the issues including the boning ,length bust and hips so basically a new dress . You actually sold a size sixteen dress to someone who is nowhere near that size . You women should be ashamed of taking advantage of someone who trusted you . We will be disputing the charge on the credit card and will be prepared to take it further if something isn't handled to correct this ,nobody cares for a credit to your store . Do not be turned off by the location of party dress express! I will admit that at first I was disappointed in the appearance of the store, it does not have a "bridal boutique feel". However, working with Fatima changed that completely for me. Having an opportunity to walk around the wedding dresses and choosing the ones that most spoke to me paired with her expertise made for an extremely positive experience. I was told on the phone my mother wasn't able to pick up my dress, and I had to come in myself. Yet didn't even check my ID when I did pick it up. If that's not your policy then look into your own employees and ensuring their educated. Threatening a patron for your employees mistakes is not what you do. As far as the quality of the dress. Not worth $200, like I said before. I've gotten a bridesmaid dress for a previous wedding that was 1/3 of the price, and the same if not better quality. The girl who helped us was far from friendly and acted as if they had better clients to get to. My sister in law is due to get married this year, I have told and will continue to tell everyone to stay far away from this place. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience. I know the owners will write something to my review based on what they have for other reviewers. I knew I signed a contract which was never my issue. My issue was the owner lied to me stating they spoke to me often to give me updates on the status of my dress. That was a lie. I only got 2 calls from them. 1 was a call returning my call stating the dress would be in by the end of September early October the latest. The 2nd call was a Call informing me in the beginning of November that the dress was in. I understand we were in a global pandemic and delays would happen. The dress was originally due by the end of August. I just didn't appreciate the lack of customer service and being told I was a liar (not in so many words). I can't say enough good things about this bridal shop. From the initial inquiry to purchasing my dress, every step along the way was above and beyond in terms of service. When I had questions and needed to make adjustments to time/party size for my appointment, I received an email back within the day each time and was met with such a positive/helpful attitude each time. Another nearby bridal shop cancelled my appointment unexpectedly and I never got a call back or an explanation. I would hands down choose PDE over other nearby shops!! The minute we walked in the door I felt so comfortable with Ashley and not once were we pressured or rushed on a decision for a dress. Ashley was very attentive and seriously did her homework - she had dresses ready to go and knew the style I wanted. the owners are absolutely so rude. we tried calling them to let them know that they blocked the road off and that we would be there within a few minutes. they did not answer. we called about seven times because we were told we would have to pay 100$ if we missed the appt. they did not answer. we finally get there && they are BOTH sitting at the counter doing nothing. one even picked up the phone to call someone. my mom then asked if she could switch something on a purchase she already made and they refused to be accomodating, told her she would have to keep what she had and if she wanted something different, she'd have to buy it. they have zero personality. they barely talk to you, they just shake their head. youre not allowed to take pictures, youre not allowed to do much of anything. these girls are just plain rude. they didnt let us know that they would be changing their location when they demanded we pick a proper date because we had to reschedule ONCE. making us about 10 min late. they dont say hi when you walk in. they barely said have a great day when we left. you know you figure youre trying to assist a bride and her party for such a big day, very clearly these girls are all about a profit. read more

I SO wanted this to be a five-star review for Party Dress Express, a true landmark outlet store in Fall River that has outfitted me for countless formals, black tie affairs and other assorted fancy schmancy events since my high school days. Additionally, PDX has served as a fabulous place to score sample cardigans, sweaters, sweater dresses and camisoles for everyday wear. For years, it always managed to maintain that "I just scored an obscene deal on a piece that fell off a truck" atmosphere, with its racks of unique, "non-party dress" samples. Even after moving to a bigger space in another mill complex a couple of years ago, and even as it became more and more of a destination for insufferably bratty prom goers and their equally insufferable moms who drive from hours away to shop here, there was that insider quality to the place that made me love it - and keep going back almost weekly, and mostly, for daywear! But you know what they say about how one bad customer service experience can change your attitude forever? Well, it's true. And while it may seem petty to downgrade the whole place on the basis of one sales person's slip-up, that is what I'm doing. My warning to you, should you go here, is to hold onto what you score for dear life. When a sales person approaches and asks if she can help you by taking your items and starting a dressing room, do not acquiesce and hand over all your goodies. You may never see them again, and as the items on the sample rack are nearly all one of a kind, your loss is permanent. I was slow to hand over my armload of sweaters one day last winter, but finally gave in after the same sales girl asked me to give my items to her THREE TIMES. Well, when I finally made it to the dressing room 30 minutes later, my things were nowhere in sight. After searching everywhere, and after trying to track down the sales girl (who never gave me her name), I noticed that another woman was in line, BUYING MY FAVORITE OF THOSE SWEATERS. Can you say, blind rage? This employee had either handed all my stuff over to someone else, or simply placed them back on the rack after taking them off my hands. We never were able to determine exactly what she'd done, but one thing was certain: I lost a phenomenal deal forever, and actually had to witness someone else walking away with it. My blood boiled all the way home. I am very disappointed with how the store handled this: offered me ZERO in way of "make goods" (even as I proceeded to purchase the two items that others had NOT yet walked away with, that had been placed back in circulation - how hard would it have been to say, "one of those is free for you"). Also the manager never contacted me after I provided her with many, many forms of contact information. Having been a customer here for one half of my life, and having spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars here in dresses and separates, I consider this to be an excellent example of the poorest service imaginable. In the end, what was a simple, dumb move by a single individual became an object lesson in how a store's handling of a situation can either keep or lose a loyal customer. In this case, they lost me. I have never returned and actually encourage others to stay away. Hidden gem! I went to another bridal shop before coming to Party Dress Express. The other bridal shop was more formal, and though the stylist was nice, I wasn't 100% comfortable & I didn't feel comfortable to be honest with her or ask questions. At Party Dress Express, I immediately felt comfortable when I walked through the doors with my mom & sister. The staff looked over right away & 1 staff helped check us in. It wasn't overwhelming. Everyone was friendly & had smiles, but were not overwhelming. You could tell all the staff loved what they do & were there to help. Fatima Cabral was the stylist assigned to us, and she was perfect! So enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helped stick to what I was looking for. She was respectful of my budget and helped guide us, along with giving our group space & our own freedom to shop around. Other stores hover too much, try to pick out styles for you that you're not interested in, and try to pressure you to buy. Fatima was able to read us well & gave us the right balance of guidance & expertise, along with freedom & space. She was professional and gave me privacy & patience when I was trying on dresses. She didn't rush me and had me try on the dresses multiple times, she gave me a vail to try on to get a feeling of the whole picture. She gave us ideas and tips on alterations. I ended up taking home a dress that same day & paid $500 for it! It was in great condition & was only out on the racks for a couple months. Lots of options. able to order different colors as well (champagne, ivory, white). Could not have asked for a better experience! After bridal dress shopping, we shopped around for my mom's dress & my sister's bridesmaid dress. Other shops require appts for mother of the brides & bridesmaids too. Jill was the stylist that jumped in and helped us. She was so enthusiastic & also gave us the right balance of guidance & space. She worked with us on styles & price as well. My sister walked out with her dress off the clearance rack for $15 !!! incredible. so many colors & styles. Jill was just as enthusiastic about the clearance dresses as the full price dresses; you know these women love their jobs & helping women find what they're looking for! My daughter is engaged and has been to two different chain bridal shops. At each shop the associate helping my daughter seemed to have a limited amount of patience. It appeared that once they knew my daughter wasn't ready to commit to a dress just yet, they each became increasingly less helpful. At the second shop, the associate even said "wl, this will have to be your last dress." So we went to Party Dress Express not feeling confident that our experience would be any different. I'm delighted to say that was not the case. We were greeted warmly and assisted by Miska - who was very helpful and willing to showy daughter as many dresses as she wanted. And though we left without making a purchase - my daughter wants to be absolutely certain that the dress she chooses for such a momentous occasion is perfect - Miska continued to be professional and supportive. In addition to the exceptional customer service we received, we were thrilled with the selection, quality, and prices of the wedding gowns available. I live in a large city and have gone bridal dress shopping with several of my friends for there weddings. The smaller boutique places are awful!. They have less of a selection, are waaaay pushier and in general are allot more expensive. Why go to a stuffy boutique bridal shop where the woman are all rude and tell you whatever you want to hear to make you by the dress, when you can go to a large place like Party Dress Express, not spend a fortune and not be pressured? Party Dress Express is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look great from the outside, but I assure you they probably have the largest and nicest dress selections in all Southern New England. I had some pretty tight time constraints and had to settle for a dress in the store (that was my own fault because I waited to long), however Party Dress Express had some brand new floor model dresses and I found one that I liked but it was 3 sizes too big. Anna, in alterations assured me she could make the dress fit me. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I didn't have a ton of choices so decided that I would trust in her. That woman is my hero. Through her skill and expertise, that dress fit me like a glove!!! I would highly recommend Party Dress Express. There prices are reasonable and the staff was a pleasure to work with! Party Dress Express was wonderful to work with, even though I didn't buy anything. After a horrible experience at another bridal shop, I went to PDX a week before a wedding I'm Maid of Honor in. Faith was wonderful, helping me look for dresses, calling their seamstress to look at my old dress, and offering to hold the "replacement" dress until I was sure the seamstress couldn't fix the dress I already owned. I consider it excellent customer service for a store to help, even when they don't make a sale. First place to go wedding dress shopping for the 'Bride to Be'.. we had called inquiring about one specific dress for the Bride to try & which style she was looking for. We were told that some dresses would be pulled. We showed up to the appt, which we drove 1.5 hours for, and no dresses were pulled, the dress she had inquired about was not there and they had nothing similar in stock, the associates did not help her with putting the actual dresses on, and no assistance in picking anything out or any recommendations. When we asked the woman if she had anything in mind (other than what we picked for her & other than what she had tried on) she would just reply with "yes but she already put it on". I would only recommend this place if you'd like to browse by yourself or on your own time, or if you are smaller sized as they have a very limited selection for "bigger women". read more

I walked in looking for a last minute dress for my moms wedding(1 week before ) I didn't have an appointment but they were able to squeeze me in for 15 minutes! The woman worked so hard to find me what I needed in that short amount of time! She had dresses lined up for me to try on & was giving my little one toys to play with and keep her occupied at the same time. I had a terrible experience at Manhattan Bridals. The owner was exceptionally rude, snobby and VERY unhelpful! Needless to say, 2 months before my wedding, my dress came in and the flower girl dress I ordered was never placed/discontinued. She told me there wasn't enough time to get another, was willing only to refund my money. When going to get alterations she made a big scene because I wasn't in her book (even though I made an appointment with her earlier in the week). I decided that I would rather just take my dress then to deal with their business anymore as she had become very nasty. I called a bunch of different stores to see if they could order a flower girl dress I found online, similar to the one I had already purchased before. I received a call back from Gen. She was so understanding and helpful. They didn't carry any of the dresses from the manufacturer I liked, but they called them directly to see if they could get it for me. They could and had it express shipped! She also gave me free alterations too! I was so excited! After telling about my prev experience above, she offered her alteration services to help me out with my wedding dress as well. She was so reasonably priced!! Not only was she very friendly, but she was always available to speak with if I had any questions. She scheduled me for 3 fittings to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it to be! She gave me 2 bustle loops just in case, one was to break. The thing I liked most is although I didn't purchase my dress there, bridesmaid's dresses either... the staff ohhed or ahhhd at my dress and said how beautiful I looked in it. I felt very comfortable and super special. Through out the entire experience all of the associates in the shop were willing to help out in any way possible to make my big day as perfect as it could be. As a dress shop, have a ton of selection, are very laid back/friendly and are not one bit pushy. I would HIGHLY recommend this store! All of my wedding day attire was as perfect! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. They will put you in a bogus contract where if the wedding is cancelled, you still have to buy the dress!!! Our bride cancelled the wedding and the shop only contacted the bride about our dresses being in and needing to be paid. None of the bridesmaids were notified by the shop and the only notification we received was a voicemail saying if we didn't buy the dresses, we would be taken to small claims court for the amount owed! Listen to your inner voice! Don't allow them to order a garment multiple sizes larger than you normally wear. I normally wear size 10/12 top and size 8 bottom. When ordering a gown, the sales associate said that I should order size 20! We negotiated ordering a size 18 after trying on a size 18 dress adjusted with clips. I understood that some alterations would be necessary, but the 18 still seemed like too much of a jump. Well the dress was so large that it wouldn't even stay on me. My seamstress significantly resized the top of the dress, but refused to remake the bottom. I was able to put on the dress without unzipping it. It should have been fitted under the bust, but hung nearly to my hips. I had to find another dress for my event. I gave a partial score for the wide dress selection and the efficient ordering and payment process. Prices are average with other specialty shops. read more

I am really surprised at the number of good reviews for this place! My friend and I made a special trip to this store because we wanted to find some dresses to this year's Navy Birthday Ball. We both had seen the billboard advertising this place, so we gave it a shot. I thought the store was grossly unorganized! Most of the dresses were in horrible condition and yes, I understand for the most part that they order the dress for you from the floor sample, but why would i want to try on a dress that looks like someone ran over it a few times in the parking lot? Also, everything seemed to be size 10-20!!!! No, I was not in the plus size section! I only found 2 dresses that were my exact size and neither deemed to be appropriate to wear anywhere except a strip club. Maybe I just like to try on dresses my own size to see how it will truly look when I put it on. Is that too much??? The service was friendly and helpful. They were not up my butt the whole time, but they were always there if I needed help reaching or tying, or buttoning. read more

A true gem in the sketchy Fall River mill zone! On my wedding dress search, earlier in the day I had been to a smaller bridal shop in which the saleswoman strips you down, dresses you up and whispers sweet nothings in your ear, whatever it takes to get you in the dress you'll perceive as "the one". Enter Party Dress Express. All pressure was released when I laid eyes on the sprawling sea of white in plastic, fluorescent lighting, accordian-style dressing room doors, sweet Portuguese ladies who smile and tell you to just grab what you want. The saleswoman, Gen, helped me out when I needed it but mostly left me alone with my two friends to ooo, ahh, and relentlessly make fun of the dresses I tried on. "The one" turned out to be a discontinued, former sample dress from the clearance rack that Gen pulled for me when she saw what I was going for. Today - six months later, I just went back for my first fitting and they also gave me a great price to get an alteration on a bridesmaid dress I bought somewhere else for a friend's wedding. I love this place; I love these people; I'll always go here first when I need a "fancy dress". I didn't even get into the other dresses, but there are more colors, sparkles, and spangles than you can shake a stick at - my inner 6-year-old can't wait to have a reason to go back. read more

Such a huge selection. My bridesmaids got their dresses here, as did my mom and MIL. The staff was pretty helpful and we love the dresses.
