Kylie was our assistant and from the first phone call to the last hug before we left, she made this day so special and memorable. She struck the perfect balance between listening and advising, and we knew we were in great hands. I just can't say enough wonderful things about her. Being plus-sized means that dress shopping and sometimes boutique situations can be difficult - will they have enough in the right size to try on? Will I feel humiliated? Will they understand my needs? Alexandra's was perfect in that regard too - there were so many options in a huge range of sizes, and my daughter felt respected and beautiful every single moment of our experience. This process was so seamless because of her attention to detail and ability to find styles based on what I did and didn't like. I had to go up there, and then kept getting mixed answers as to why the dresses were not in. Fast forward, dresses came in a week before the wedding, you have to pay CASH for the dress, if there is a balance, before they will do alterations, which are only done Monday and Tuesday, which was not told to us. My dress did not fit, even though she took my measurements, like didn't even zip up any. She charged me $150 extra to make it bigger although that was definitely her fault. Additionally, there were mixed prices regarding steaming some paid nothing, others paid $25, etc.

The pro that fitted me said they had to be pulled up and use suspenders, WHAT A CROCK. He let out the seams to try to fix but there wasn't enough material left to make them right. My seamstress is fixing the cuffs but the thighs can't be repaired. The deal here as I see it, great price for a nice suit but they clip you $70.00 for tailoring that's in inferior. Somebody at Savers is going to get a nice suit after the wedding.

I called around and Simon & Sons picked up. Paul, the owner, laid it out for me: pricing, timing, no frills. I came in and got measured quickly, and with a quick alteration I was on my way. Clean, fast, very courteous and professional. Paul was invested in me looking good and wasn't trying to hurry me through the process and rush me through the door. The selection was broad with various designs, but with the short notice I only had the choice of the standard tux, which looked great. I walked in annoyed, and walked out a happy customer.
