Disappointing and stressful shopping experience…read more This shop sold my fiancée a wedding dress while assuring us that the alterations we specifically requested were possible. After multiple rounds of alterations, the seamstress finally explained that the alterations recommended by Alexandra's Boutique were not actually possible for this particular dress. By this point, my fiancée was devastated--and because of this shop's harsh no-return policy, we were left out thousands of dollars. She was literally in tears and had to go to another bridal shop, where she found a completely different dress that she felt far more comfortable and confident in. Instead of feeling pressured into a purchase, she felt listened to and supported. What makes this experience particularly frustrating is that the issue could have been avoided if the limitations of the dress had been honestly communicated before the sale. A wedding dress is an enormous purchase, and customers deserve accurate information--not high-pressure sales tactics followed by a policy that leaves them with no recourse when the promised alterations turn out to be impossible. I cannot recommend this establishment. In fact, based on our experience, I would actively caution anyone I know against shopping here. If you're considering purchasing a wedding dress from this shop, I strongly recommend getting independent confirmation that the alterations being promised are actually possible before handing over thousands of dollars.

When the BuyWithMe for this came up I had to take advantage of it. I made the appointment (at my convenience which isn't very much convenient for most at 7a on a Saturday morning) and was pleasantly accomodated, even as I tried on a bunch of dresses that needed help with the zipper! Very good selection, as found on website, return was just as easily scheduled and even a credit was kept for the remaining voucher amount. Parking is a pain, but is to be expected in the North End. Overall highly recommend!

Back in maybe February or march, we ordered our dresses, we were told end of June arrival. She took our measurements at that time as well. Kept calling, she DOES NOT pick up the phone. I had to go up there, and then kept getting mixed answers as to why the dresses were not in. Fast forward, dresses came in a week before the wedding, you have to pay CASH for the dress, if there is a balance, before they will do alterations, which are only done Monday and Tuesday, which was not told to us. My dress did not fit, even though she took my measurements, like didn't even zip up any. She charged me $150 extra to make it bigger although that was definitely her fault. Additionally, there were mixed prices regarding steaming some paid nothing, others paid $25, etc.

Do not even set foot in Ana's Bridal in East Providence, RI. We wanted to support a small business,…read morebut this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The owner comes across as a sweet grandmother-type personality, but once you purchase your dress and pay in full, she completely stops caring. I ordered my mother-of-the-bride dress in October and by April had still heard nothing. When I called to check on it, Ana first claimed I had already received the dress -- which was completely false. Then she told me not to worry because "the wedding isn't until September." Wrong again -- the wedding was August 1st. After reading other online reviews, I realized this seems to be a pattern. Calls went unanswered and messages were ignored, so I had to start contacting the store weekly just to get updates. I used different phone numbers, so my call would be answered, but only more lies. When my dress finally arrived at the end of May, Ana's daughter emailed me saying I was "not welcome" in the store and they would simply mail the dress to me. I had no recourse when I said please don't put it in the mail because it had already been done. My $700 Mon Cheri Montage dress arrived shoved into an Amazon box. After all the measuring Ana did, the dress came several sizes too big. It honestly felt like they expected me to spend even more money on expensive alterations at their shop. This entire experience was stressful, unprofessional, and disappointing. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

A few days before my scheduled pickup date, Angel called me to let me know the suit was ready. When I showed up (about five hours before I actually needed to wear the suit), it turned out that the jacket sleeves were a bit long (incorrect measurements from the original fitting). The Newport staff got on it immediately, and had everything fixed an hour early. The suit fit perfectly, and I looked like a million bucks (and received tons of compliments) at my work function - and it's not every day I get comments like that! Hats off to Angel and his colleagues in the Newport store. Friendly, fast, caring, knowledgeable - they hit all the marks. I imagine that there are many events in the Newport area for which tuxes are needed, and I can't think of a better place to go for any kind of menswear than Jos. A. Bank. Thanks all, and extremely well done!

When needed, the new pieces arrived within 48 hours, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I definitely recommend going to a local Black Tux showroom to get measured. Most of our guys got measured at Men's Wearhouse, and their sizing didn't quite match The Black Tux's system -- that was the only small hiccup we ran into. My now-husband, our dads, and all of the groomsmen looked so handsome -- the tuxes were sharp and fit great after adjustments. One of our favorite stories from the day: my brother-in-law (and best man) was having such a blast on the dance floor that he accidentally ripped his shirt, and The Black Tux didn't even charge him! They told us they were just glad he had fun -- truly above-and-beyond customer service. I'd highly recommend The Black Tux for any wedding or formal event.
