We decided to rent the blue suit (for $229 which comes with a button down shirt you get to keep, plus a tie, and shoes to wear for the event) and buy the black suit (for $299 plus alterations) She took our deposit and we were done. Meanwhile, we were told to "look around" and left standing without any assistance. This happened repeatedly--each time a white couple entered, they were prioritized while we were overlooked. The most blatant moment was when a white couple was shown matching shoes right in front of us, while we stood less than a foot away still waiting. No one in our group is white, and the stark contrast in treatment felt racially motivated. We waited over 30 minutes before someone finally came over to help us, and even then, the staff member seemed visibly annoyed that we were trying on suits. This was supposed to be a celebratory moment for a groom preparing for his big day. Instead, it became a frustrating experience marked by unequal treatment. We truly hope this business reflects on how it treats all its customers moving forward.

The staff at Formalwear Ltd were very friendly and knowledgeable. I visited the store multiple times as I collaborated with them and my fiance to select the perfect tux combination for my wedding. I picked up my tux a couple of days before the wedding and the size for some of the parts of it were off, but it was no problem at all as they overnighted the correct sizes. It was a few sizes too big, but I got it because it seemed like a gem. I knew I wanted to get it tailored and trimmed to fit my body a bit better, so it would not fit like a flowy night gown. So I Googled what tailors were close by, and which had ease of parking. I found Franks which is a good less than five minute drive away from my house, and it's in a nice big lot. I called and asked if they tailor t-shirts they said yes and I would bring it in tomorrow. The next day. I was greeted by this amazingly cheerful woman who basically gave me the run down as I had never used a tailor before. She had me try the shirt on and stand in front of a mirror. She sized it up, and told me of a more affordable option for trimming the shirt, and the more expensive one. I just wanted the shirt to not be as baggy as it was on me, so I did what would be best, and went with the cost effective one. Total cost was $28 & it's cash or check only on jobs like this. Only cards if you're tailoring suits. Said it would take a few days to do and we agreed to pick up the shirt on Monday afternoon, (this was on Thursday.) I had work Friday and Saturday. I got a call the following day and said it was ready. I had informed the person on the phone, I had work until 5PM, which by then they would be closed. So I said I would definitely be there on Monday to pick it up. I got there today and the guy working there was extremely kind and welcoming. Handed me the shirt and had me try it on. It fit so much better than before! Not too loose and not too constricting! Love it! He rang me up and it was a very pleasant interaction! Seems like an old fashioned mom and pop place. That is very appreciative of everyone that walks into their shop. Very awesome place. I'm glad I chose Franks to get a cool thrift shop find tailored!
