Great snacks and the shave ice was actually really good, tasted refreshing and not overly sweet. But that parking lot next to it is a scam. The pay machine only take max time, and will automatically "confirm" when pressing cancel. Almost $8 to park there. Should be investigated and will keep me from coming back here. I was walking around the Ala Moana area and noticed Lin's Hawaiian Snacks a short distance away. I love snacks, and this place looked so inviting from the exterior that I decided to stop in and check it out. Walking in, you're immediately greeted by...snacks. Snacks are everywhere, in individually-sized bags that are clearly labeled. Also, in bulk containers that you're able to choose from (not you right now due to COVID, but a staff member who is happy to help). There is almost anything one could think of - from the traditional chocolates and confections to the more specialized foods specific to Hawaii. I saw everything from gummy bears to dried fish - there was so much to absorb that it's almost overwhelming. Most of their snacks are their in-house brand, but I noticed a few other brands as well; in addition, I noticed some drink options including milk teas. After doing some browsing I picked up some dried fruit and cookies - I wasn't as adventurous as I could have been, but if you're looking to go there it's definitely an option. Every time I'd visit Hawaii, families and friends request for Hawaiian snacks to bring back to the mainland. I usually would go to Walmart, but a friend suggested to visit Lin's and luckily we did. It was awesome to try samples of different kinds of varieties or fruits or candy flavors before purchasing them. Most definitely a plus. Unique varieties that are not in Walmart. Must stop if you're looking for snacks! They have sooooo many different types of candies and pickled fruit. I wish they had samples, but I do appreciate that they have these tiny little baggies of a couple pieces of candy for super cheap. I guess those are like their samples. Parking - found free street parking during recent State holiday. The lot next to store enforces the rules as I observed a car with a ticket on the windshield. What I observed people doing was leaving one person in the car in case enforcer came around. Selection - After wondering around the store since I haven't been inside in ages, I purchased Li Hing Mango seed and Lychee seed. I was wrong in selecting the Mango seed. They forgot the sugar as seed tasted of a salted something, that's how salty it was, it could have been plum, lemon, etc, basic taste was salt. Warning the Red #40 is strong, if you have to go out where red-orange lips and fingers are not wanted, don't eat this before then. I guess this was how parents could tell what the kids were eating for snacks after school. Price - Mango was $4/package. Service - As we were waiting in line for the cashier, when people arrived at cashier that is when they placed order for shave ice or boba drink, for some reason the customers behind me got to place their order before I got to the cashier, luckily I wasn't ordering any drinks, if not would have rated this place 0 stars for service. When I asked the cashier about parking next door in the lot he gave me a mumbling response to the effect that it's a paid lot I think, couldn't quite understand him. They have 3 very chill dogs in the store that'll give you a friendly sniff. Their warehouse recently burned down, so they may be out of stock of certain items, but be patient. This shop reminds me of the mom and pop crack seed shops of the 70's and 80's with a modern twist. Huge selection of both old school snacks and new inventions like the hibiscus flower. The lemon powder is what brings me back to Lin's over and over again. Get the largest bag because it's so versatile. The lemon powder is yummy sprinkled over fresh and canned fruits, mixed with vodka, in a glass of sprite, and even over plain vanilla ice cream. There's a section of sample packets you can buy to try. This is how I was introduced to the pineapple gummies that are packaged separately and perfect to keep in your bag for quick sweet snacks. The store is clean. They also offer local cookies, delicious drinks, and a plethora of local snacks. I'm like a kid in a "crack seed" candy store whenever I visit Lin's! They have everything you could want when it comes to local kine snacks like li hing, lemon peel, kakimochi, and a few new things I have never had but want. This is a clean, bright, and friendly store with so much to choose from it's easy to overspend! While we can get some of these things on the mainland, it's just not the same as in Hawaii. Prices can run a little high but hey, for the convenience, packaging, and location I really can't complain! Service is very friendly and helpful! There is an adjacent parking lot for customers. We've always enjoyed local snacks but it's been a while since we've been to Lin's and I was craving lemon peel. I looked at their website to get an idea of what they had in stock, but shipping was a bit pricey so I decided to head down to the store. This was my first time at this location. Only one customer is allowed in the store at a time due to the COVID regulations. Masks are required. Unfortunately you're not allowed to wander around in the store to check out all the options, so it was a good thing I already knew what I wanted from the website. I made off with dried lemon peel, guava candy, garlic chips, pickled li Hing mui mango, coconut chunks, and li Hing mui guava. Sooooo good! First time and what don't they have... Americana and Asian snacks galore... many items that I remember from my youth. This place has EVERYTHINGGGGG!! Boba, shaved ice, desserts, Li Hing EVERYTHING, preserves, hawaii snacks and candy!! After reading a ton of reviews on Yelp and also getting it into my head that I must try pickled mangos, I found Lin's! I was excited that it was only a little over a mile from my hotel and I could make it there, the beach and back in the 1.5 hours I had for lunch. I may have gotten a little bit carried away, but this store made my inner 5-year old jump up for joy. They have an impressive selection of li hing fruits and sour candies. I was also on a mission for sour belts, and they had lychee, pineapple, rainbow, strawberry flavors. They also had red shredded mango, mango in li hing juices, licorice olives (which remind me of Taiwan!), and furikake party mix. They had every single item my friends asked me to bring back for them...so this one stop shop and over $100 later, alllll my gifts and souvenirs were taken care of. LOVE that they have different sized bags in case you wanna try stuff first. The only knock is that you have to pay for parking ($2.50/hour) at the lot next to their building. Maybe next time we'll park at the Whole Foods across the street and walk over. read more

I've been a frequent customer for many years for their variety and prices. On my last visit on Tuesday 8/26 I purchased a crack seed bag that I didn't realize had a hole in it. It leaked into the bag on my way home. I came back today and asked for an exchange. The sales person asked for the reciept, but I unfortunately didn't have it anymore. I gave him my name, confirmed the date of purchase, and gave my credit card number so he could check. He couldn't find my purchase. The original crack seed bag was clearly unopened and unused with sticky liquid seeping out of it. I brought it to them in a clear ziploc bag. The male associate in a pink shirt and long hair told me he couldn't do an exchange without proof of purchase. Who else (meaning which other store) would I have purchased this from?! I ended up buying more snacks as I was on a deadline, but never again. Horrible customer service for a defective product and horrible business model. If there's a hole at the bottom, it meant bacteria or something could've seeped in. My daughter and I discovered this place through Instagram. Living in Las Vegas, we are limited to many goodies from back home. Sure, we have some stores in Vegas and we always have friends and family sending some over, but it's not the same. After a few months of salivating over their IG posts and stories, we finally made it here in person! The store is in a great location, with easy parking. We were immediately greeted upon walking in. The sight took our breadth away with an endless variety of crack seeds in jars, the wall of sour and li hing candies in bags, and the baskets full of all sorts of yummy snacks. We didn't try any of the mixed drinks but the menu looks real good. I'm so glad we finally made here in person and will definitely come back in July! read more

The shave ice was huge! This spot is mostly a snack shop that also has shave ice and other items. We got the large one, which was huge lol. Definitely could've went for the smaller size. But the shave ice itself was very nice. I would definitely recommend this place. This is a little far if you don't have a car, so I recommend driving here or taking an Uber. read more

Oh wow, what a treasure chest of goodies!!! Li Hing Mui fans, y'all MUST come here! It is like entering Hawaii's Willy Wonka factory of goodies! I have yet to find another local snack shop that carries as much variety as Lin's. Even for popular snacks such as the Premium Sweet Seedless Li Hing Mui, which is often sold out everywhere, Lin's got it! I also LOVE that they have different size packaging for all the flavors, so you don't have to commit to buying a giant bag if you've never tried it before (it's also not cheap!!). They have several sizes, depending on the type of snack, and even have a whole wall of small sampler bites that you can purchase for $1.25. Aside from Li Hing Mui, you can find a variety of ume, gummies, shrimp chips, coffee, ....I can go on and on, OR you can just visit Lin's yourself! Awesome spot with a wide selection of snacks with many in a regular and larger size option. My favorite part of this store is their "pick 10" and get one free section where they have an assortment of fun size/Halloween size packages of their main selection. This is perfect for very small gifts to give to coworkers or to snack on yourself. The only bad thing by no fault of the business is the parking lot machine takes forever to give you a parking pass - just be patient. It's under 3 dollars the last time I was there.
