I popped into this shop after a long spell but my dinner reservation I arrived early so I went to it to my amazement! There's Chinese crack seed which is very rare in the Kalihi area. There's another one across the Dillihngham monorail construction site but it's not local crack seed I grew up with. One must go there to enjoy their shop galore of goodies! It's very tempting if you bring your children. Lots of parking but I avoid lunch time there's none even on the street! There's so many eateries there to enjoy! I texted the store phone a few days before I needed my popcorn to place my order and it was sooo simple, affordable, and hassle free. I did have to pay ahead of time, due to some people to order then no pick up, but paying in advance also gave me a piece of mind knowing that I secured my leis for the day. What led me to this cracked seed shop was my Yelp buddies - Iris T., & da FAMOUS Auntie Nadine C. who had posted some great reviews, and pics of this snack & gift shop called - Judy Shop. I've been on a quest to look for Li Hing Baby Cherry Seed but it appears that most cracked seed stores no longer carry this item. I've been searching for sometime now, but have been unsuccessful (insert Sad Panda Face here). If you ever find the item I'm lookin' for, let a Bruddah know! Anyways, Judy Shop is another store that specializes in the - snacks & small gift trinket game. The cute little store is located at the City Square Shopping Center, just a few doors down from the Famous - Kamehameha Bakery. Upon walking into the store this afternoon, I was greeted by a friendly lady. The first thing I did when I talked to her was ask if they had a dry "Li Hing Cherry Baby Seed". Unfortunately they did not have what I was looking for, but I must say that the service here was ultra primo excellent as the lady who helped me was a professional customer service clerk. She was very friendly, & offered me plenty samples of the various types of cracked seeds they sell here. Upon tryin' a Bayberry Seed, & Rainbow Cherry Seed, I ended up with what I know (I guess I'm a creature of habit)........da Seedless Li Hing Cherry - A.U.T.O.M.A.T.I.C.! Lol! The Li Hing Cherry was good, but a wee bit pricier (about $5.50 more than what I would normally pay at my regular cracked seed joint I regularly go to). If you're not into cracked seed like Bruddah Fran, this snack shop does sell other types of snacks like - popcorn, candy, and other items I probably missed while visiting here. Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... When I read Iris' review, I saw the word, "plushies" and had to investigate... Located at City Square, between Pancakes and Waffles and Kamehameha Bakery - and across from Young's Fish Market and Utage, free shared parking is much appreciated! The name of the store is a combination of two shops which were formerly at Ohana Hale Marketplace. I remember Charm Culture because I had bought a Brown and Cony (Line Friends) pillow there. The merchandise looked familiar, so, I asked - and yes! The popcorn/crack seed shop (Judy Shop) at Ohana Hale Marketplace was diagonal from Charm Culture! Of course, I had a thrill while browsing through all of the cute stuff. My first excitement came from seeing Sally (Brown's sister) in the window. (Too bad they didn't have any Cony items.) I wanted to get a Kuromi bag for my sister; My Melody for my neighbor; Hello Kitty for my cousin; etc. I ended up getting Cooky from BT21 and a pack of kawaii bunny red envelopes! Note: other merchandise includes hair accessories, costume jewelry, key chains, bracelets made from crystals, tote bags, and more! Remember that there is a check in perk from the Yelp app! Recently Ordered 11 Popcorn leis for Senior Night from this cute little shop. She was so nice to work with and was able to accommodate my order at yhe last minute. She didn't charge me extra for custom color Popcorn and even gave me a free Lei since I ordered more than 10. The Lei was $7.50/each and they suggested using the kettle Popcorn instead of fresh so that the Popcorn will stay fresh approx 2 weeks. LOL well we ended up eating that free Lei She gave us the next day. The Popcorn was good and price was good and a little cheaper than other places I looked at. Popped in this new to me shop when going to Thang's. They stock a bunch of plushies and knick knacks, but I was interested in finding the elusive baby seed that Fran C. has been searching for from back in the day. IYKYK! Haven't seen the OG type in forever! Any Yelpers out there know if baby seed is available? I ended up buying a bag of popcorn that the sweet worker recommended as it was just made earlier in the day. Boy was she right, the popcorn was crispy and delicious although I would have preferred a savory option. Not as sweet as it looked. It doesn't have a label so I don't know what flavor it is. Will be back when I have more time to browse the many crack seed options. There were many types of preserved seeds that I was not familiar with. Maybe cause it was late afternoon and I had the munchies well if so I'd caution you before you enter Judy Shop cause this shop has two names (Judy Shop & Charm Culture) because it's just that and something you just need to experience. Located in City Square Shopping Center near Pancakes & Waffles this shop has everything you need to create a gift set or just to help with your cravings. I walked in and just didn't know where to begin munchies or blingies I tend to go right and it was blingies lol! Scanning...scanning with so much to see I noticed they had some AirPod case which I was so excited as I've been struggling finding one which I got, they also have plushies, keychains, totes, and a lot accessories! Charm Culture does have a stamp card with a stamp for every $10 which you can redeem for a discount or free gift once you fill all 10 spots. Since it was late and already had a snack I passed on the goodies for now but know where I can have my sweet and salty fix which I'm excited but as I was leaving I noticed a rack of face masks! Nice and clean. I'm. It sure if the lady who was running the shop was the owner but she was very friendly. Freshly popped popcorn was nice and buttery. Highly recommend you try them out. I believe they are affiliated with the popcorn kiosk in the malls, at least that's what the man at the Pearl Ridge stall stated. So you know the quality is on point. I have been coming here religiously ever since my friend gifted me a bag of 'vitamin c' dinosaur gummies. I'm not sure if it actually has any vitamin c in it, but I really like the taste and texture (it reminds me of Japanese rice candy!). When I actually visited Judy Shop to buy more bags of these gummies, I ended up walking out with a bag full of assorted gummy candies (dinosaurs, octupus, bears), popcorn, and a couple of keychain charms. I've been coming here about once a week for their fresh popcorn. I get a large, and just snack on it during the work week. I get the furikake, butter, and mochi crunch mix. It's really good, that I made the mistake of brining it home midweek, and it was devoured by my kids. I had to go a second time. They really love it as well. Christine and Judy are really sweet, so even more so why I return. My coworker usually buys their crack seed item, and I've tried it, and that is good too. The cutest store I've ever walked into! If you're looking for gift ideas, this is the perfect place to be. They have accessories from earrings, necklaces to phone cases and bags! If you're stumped finding a gift idea for any occasion I highly recommend judy shop. Part of the shop is the gift shop, the other half of the store has crack candy and fresh popcorn. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a connoisseur of crackseed. Crackseed, aka seeds and/or li hing mui, has been around the Hawaiian islands for decades and the best place to find them, IMO, are small mom and pop shops. Sadly, there aren't many of these shops anymore since the older generations have passed away, and the kids/grandkids don't want to take over the business. I'm not sure how long Judy Shop has been around however it IS, in fact , a FAMILY BUSINESS. I've been helped multiple times by both the owner, Judy (mom) and her daughter (lovely young girl). They take Customer Service very seriously there. They make sure to let every customer know that they will be right with them if they're in the middle of helping another customer. The store is very clean and filled with a lot of merchandise not only crackseed, but Japanese toys, cell phone accessories, jewelry, candy snacks AND I ALMOST FORGOT ANOTHER WONDERFUL THING- FRESH POPCORN. Made to order with tons of toppings to choose from! No need to go to the movies! Because we are besties now I'm gonna let you in on a little secret... They have the BEST LI HING MUI in town!
