I do not know but the girls thought it was hilarious. Haha I personally wouldn't come back for myself although they had some intriguing pieces of candy and the place was decorated lively and fun I don't see myself shopping there often, candy isn't a huge part of my life though so I can understand for people that really love candy why this store would be a cool experience and sweets adventure. Clearly this shop has a do not touch display. My kids touched none of the candy art and just looked at a huge jaw breaker candy, which an employee like to play security guard while pointing at the do not touch sign and said uhh there's a signed there says do not touch. I asked if the jaw breakers candy is also a do not touch item, He replied no in an aggressive way but kept eye on me like he wanted to fight. Management needs to evaluate this person. read more

The absolute coolest IT'SUGAR location I've EVER stepped foot in!!!! Located in the Ala Moana Hawaiian Center, this particular IT'SUGAR is large in size and has no shortage of things you will "ooh" & "ahhhh" over. Above all, there are so many photo opportunities. I literally found it hard to leave!! The displays are absolutely stunning, a true work of art. Employees are kind- offering help if it is needed but also letting you do your thing, browsing freely. My purchase consisted simply of a custom bag of assorted candies to share amongst my toddler and I. There are a number of gummies, chocolates, candy belts, and jelly beans to chose from. The cutest candy shop in Honolulu! It's Sugar is located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu and it was on the list of my places to visit on my recent trip to Hawaii because......there's a giant Hello Kitty statue inside. The Hello Kitty fan girl in me definitely wanted to say aloha to this store because of that. There indeed was a giant Hello Kitty statue that welcomes folks to the store on the south side. It's not jus the Hello Kitty statue however because there are other plenty of other cute statues such as Donutella of Tokidoki. There's so much kawaii eye candy but let's not forget the actual candy in the store! No matter what kinda of sweet tooth you have; you'll be sure to find your sweet treat here! They've got chocolate, jelly beans, nerds and even a whole section on the north side of the store for Oreo treats! It's Sugar is definitely sugar heaven! Sweet treats and sweet statues everywhere! Located on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana Center near Target. This store is HUGE and has all sorts of candy options. They even have a section just for sour patch kids and Oreos. I saw HK stuff and had to snap a pic! They also had the owl from the tootsie pop commercial from when I was younger. This store is well laid out to where you aren't crowded with other shoppers. This is a beautiful store. So bright and colorful with a well designed floor plan. So many different type of sweets, more than you would ever think exist. Prices are a bit high but it is located in a world class mall. One downside was the service. The employee that rang us up had a heavy foreign accent and wore a face mask making her hard to understand. We asked her to repeat what she was saying at which time she became rude and snippy. I walked out with just 2 bags! Hahaha yeah I couldn't help it. They have a whole section dedicated to just Oreos which is like my middle name just about. When I saw the sign $17+ a pound for candy I thought... dentists must be rejoicing for an onslaught of business once the sugar bugs create cavities. There were rock candy on sticks for $1.99, Skittles for $9 and even bubble gum machines for sale. The line for Oreo Cafe housed in the left portion of the shop is still visible. Walking into this store is like every kids fantasy candyland, maybe for some adults too. They had every type of candy imaginable. They had candy from back in the day when I was growing up. They had those rock chocolates and those gold coin chocolates. They also had gigantic sized Hershey's Kisses, Hershey's Bar, Kit Kat, and Twizzlers. They have different themes in each part of the store. I saw Hello Kitty, Sour Patch Kids, Oreo, Hersey's, Hawaiian, and Japanese to name a few. My favorite was the Japanese Snack Boxes. All the items on the inside are from Japan. I used to subscribe to a similar box of another brand. The service was excellent. Three workers actually approached me at different times asking if I needed any help. I believe one of them was a manager. He explained some of the different candies to me and the history behind it. The prices here are a tad bit higher than your average grocery store. We all know the rent at Ala Moana is outrageous. Candy and sweets at Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu, Hawaii... I'm glad that my niece brought me here to this gigantic megastore! It'Sugar is so huge that I might have gotten lost! My niece took me to the area of Ala Moana where Williams-Sonoma used to be (near the upper level of Target). We entered through the door near the Oreo Department and exited the door by Hello Kitty and Tokidoki. When I asked about certain candies, my niece was able to explain. She even said that sweet types of cereal are here - like Frosted Flakes. It was just overwhelming! I could recognize M&Ms and Kool-Aid. Stopped in at the biggest candy store in Hawaii. They span the entire top of the area formerly housed by Janie and Jack, Williams Sonoma, Ann Taylor and _____. Jory and his staff were so friendly and took the time to give us a "tour" of the store pointing out the hottest items that are being featured on tick rock and other social media. They took down our request for old time candies line Horlick and Kits and advised us they would have their manager look for them. Such a cool, fun place! As regulars to Ala Moana Center, we've passed through Level 3, near Target, and have seen a whole section of vacant store spaces boarded and up with colorful billboards advertising this new candy store called "It'Sugar." We looked forward to this Honolulu location but unfortunately missed the November 26th opening date because we were off-island. We visited an It'Sugar store at Los Angeles' Universal City's Citywalk several years ago but just came away with Giant 1-pound Reese's Cups and a bag of It'Sugar Dinglebearies Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears, even though I'm not a big fan of milk chocolates. Most of the chocolate or chocolate-covered candies were milk chocolate, not dark chocolate. However, the store was a fun, and happy place where we thought it would be nice to visit again. The other day we were at Ala Moana Center and made our way to It'Sugar. Upon entry, we were greeted a welcoming greeter who offered us a tour of this huge store. We declined her offer and set about roaming about on our own. The store was packed with fun and bright colored statues of Sour Patch Kids, Red (M&M), Punchy (Hawaiian Punch), Oreo cookies, Tokidoki, Hello Kitty and more. Its bright and well organied displays was enough to make one let their sweet tooth and inner child run wild. During our visit, there weren't many other shoppers but we could see several cashiers who were eagerly assisting customers with their purchases. The colorful signs project happy feelings, and the famous vintage candy brands brought back sweet childhood memories. This time around, I didn't buy any candies since I'm trying to watch my sugar-intake but, walking around this store brought us happy thoughts and memories. Found out about this place when we were walking around Ala Moana waiting for our reservation. This place is big inside. Very colourful and I practically took pictures everywhere! I felt like a kid being inside a giant candy/chocolate store. I was so excited lol My husband and I bought these chocolate peanut butter balls and sour gummies. We transferred them to a ziploc bag so we can seal them afterwards. They have some pretty unique stuff. Definitely worth checking it out. Yes it's a giant candy store. Anyone who has followed me knows I have a mouthful of sweet teeth and a dentist who appreciates the business. Now this is not a small shop it covers 3-4 shop spaces. Theres a huge Oreo display complete with an Oreo shake shop. Display artwork is done with jelly beans - impressive. Most if not all sweets come from the US & Japan. With a smattering of European. There is even a TV running old (60s-70s) candy commercials. So nothing really special, one of a kind stuff etc. but you can find it under 1 roof. Bravo Ala Moana SC I was thinking how much the lack of items for kids and the kid at heart. It's Sugar can't help but have your tastebuds going overdrive as the new and classic combine for a party filled atmosphere with music and colorful displayed sweets. I actually took a friend who needed some smiles and positive vibe, we had dinner in the mall the decided to give our expanded belly some relief and walked around and asked if she noticed some newer shops that had opened and think it'd be a perfect place to chill lol! Walking in she didn't think this whole place was one and kept saying "whaaaaa!!!" looking over each area then ooh "Hello Kitty!" and just seemed to have found her spot. We all have our own nostalgia tied to ourselves and you certainly can find that here or create new ones with your loves. Seeing her embrace a giant Reese's cup display and say ooohhhh, took a selfie with a giant bar of Snickers these moments are priceless. We did get those packs that you have no idea what's in it and was hoping to feel it and pray it's the one...I'm horrible at it but knowing which one she wanted I guessed and got two. She got two as well to open with another friend to surprise her, I got my two and ripped it opened right outside. One was exactly what I was thinking and hoped the other was the exact one she wanted and we screamed!! You know I gave it to her and she wanted to give me one of hers..NO! Go enjoy that moment with your friend like the night we just had. It's Sugar is probably the biggest candy store I've ever been in. We went a couple of weeks ago just to check it out. It's massive. We just kind of walked around and checked out every inch of the place. They have so many different types of candies. I thought the collectible tin idea was pretty good. You select four different or same bags of candy and you get a collectible tin. I'm not much of a candy person so I was merely just looking at the variety. My husband, on the other hand, loves candy. He wasn't there with us that day but he was asking about some old time kind of candy. When I think of old school, the candy that I remember are those old root beer ones. Oh those were my favorite. I looked in the store and didn't really see those types. There were a lot of candies that they made into a bigger size like fonts twizzlers or put they put a spin on it like combining different flavors. It was a little overwhelming to see all that candy in there. They have a big store, I hope that they last but I sure miss my Williams and Sonoma store :( read more

Finally had time to check out this new hype that everyone is raving about. I was kind of disappointed yes there's some candy they carry that's from when I was growing up back in the day I guess about in the 80's. For example the Cigarette candy it's not the bubble gum cigarette stick that when I was a kid you can blow and smoke powder comes out lol. Wow we're going way back in time lol. Inside of the box just has small round candies. I did see Poprocks , the candies on a lei. Also the small round candies on the paper when you pick it off sometime the paper is stuck on the candy lol. Located on the Mauka Wing on level 3 of the Ala Moana Center, lies a sugary delight that will satisfy your sweet tooth. It'Sugar has made its debut back in November 2021 here in the 50th state and I must admit I am quite thrilled to see it here in the islands. This place is jammed pack with a bunch of candy, snacks, sugary drinks, trinkets, toys, clothing items, and other fun stuff related to candy from all over the world and from different decades. I was quite impressed on the layout when they first opened and been amazed by all the fun things to find every time I pay a visit. The store itself is considered one of their "sugar daddy" stores because its so big filled with so many things. They recently opened up the Oreo cafe which is actually the second Oreo cafe in the States. I had the opportunity to check it out on their grand opening to satisfy my sweet tooth after having a rough week in the office. I ordered the brownie Oreo sundae which consisted of your choice of soft serve (Oreo, vanilla, or both), a whole chocolate brownie, Oreo cookie crumbles, chocolate drizzle, and a whole Oreo cookie. The sundae definitely cheered me up; it was full of sugar, cream, and a whole lot of chocolate. The brownie is very very rich, dense, and delicious and got me a little chocolate wasted. No regrets here, even if my stomach would disagree! Since it is one of their "sugar daddy" stores, there are some exclusive items that are only sold at this location. This is one GIGANTIC candy store (18,000 square feet) that is located on the same floor as Target and Buffalo Wild Wings of Ala Moana shopping center and took over shops Ann Taylor, Williams Sonoma, Janie and Jack, and Aloha Confectionary. It's the store's 100th location and is beautifully decorated with candy displays creatively made for the Hawaii scene. In the center it has hand created jelly bean displays- ocean scenery, octopus, shark, ALOHA, surfboards, pineapples, volcano. The details are amazing!! You can find all sorts of candies, pocky, nerds, pez, sour patch kids, Swedish fish, punch, skittles, snickers, chocolate, pretty much any candy you can think of. There are plush dolls of pusheen and hello Kitty, a whole section dedicated to Oreos- plush items, towels, cups, etc, spam, funko pops- Mandalorian, Grogu, sourpatch, squid games, and a ton more!! The kid in me really came out in this place! I love that it is so spacious and there is such a huge variety of candy everyone will leave happy. There are 3 different entrances and things are very well organized throughout the store. There were lots of cute gag type gifts as well as plushies, and food themed socks, boxers, and shirts. Conveniently located in Ala Moana center between Buffalo Wild Wings and Target the stores size and vibrant displays make them hard to miss. I loved the jelly bean art that was displayed. In addition to everyone's favorite candies from the USA there were also some Japanese treats and themed boxes that have treats from different countries. It seems similar to snack crate if you're familiar with them. The reason that I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is just for the simple fact that it's Ala Moana pricing, which means expensive, lol. Founded in 2006, It'sugar is a national chain of candy stores with some locations so large they're dubbed as "candy department stores", as is the case here. ATMOSPHERE: At 18,000 SF, it takes up an entire row of shops on the third level at Ala Moana Center (where William Sonoma and a few other now-closed businesses used to be). Three unique entrances are combined into a single interior space, incorporating their Oreo, Sour Patch Kids and It'sugar concepts. EXPERIENCE: Never having heard of this brand, I anticipated a Sweet Factory-like sensory experience as I entered: The smell of chocolates combined with other sugary treats. Umm, nope. No smell. What gives? Unlike candy stores of the past, these guys are reselling pre-packaged candies in larger-sized gift boxes, oversized-packages and some in bulk, so there's no loose candy, thus no scent. The most intriguing offering was their small section of retro candies, including full-sized Nerds boxes, Fun Dip, Pop Rocks, Fruit Stripe gum and PEZ. I would've been elated had Horlick's candies been resurrected from the dead, but no such luck, LOL. Other notable items were gigantic edible gummy bears (nearly a foot tall), super long sour tape candy, novelty t-shirts, urine sour liquid candy (not kidding, see my pic) and Squid Game stuffed dolls. Wow! If you love candy this is your store! So much to see it's overwhelming. Every kind of candy is represented here. As you enter you are cheerfully greeted by a candy ambassador. In the center of the store is an amazing display made of candy! Upon closer inspection the sea life was made of jelly beans! It truly was amazing and just seeing that made me smile. Browsing around Ala Moana and accidentally found Its' Sugar! If i didn't look up i wouldn't have seen it. It's kid of in a hidden place (3rd floor) by target. Everything is so eye catching. My kids had so much fun in this store. Of course as we walked in the first thing we did was take a tour around the whole store, when done then we actually went around again to choose what we wanted. My kids filled up bags of candies that was available. We also got a Chico-stick and a duff beer (soda). As i checked out the cashier told me this is the largest it's sugar store even compared to the ones in the mainland. We gone to the ones in the mainland and this truly was the largest be been in.
