The saltiness is found here though it's all sour as well so be prepared for it all as Seeds 'n Things is a cute little nook in the upper level of Windward Mall that I try to avoid as it's filled with all the comfort snacks that we grew up loving though as it escalated to a more bougie level I try my best to avoid this sweet shop for good reasons. Not limited to gummy's and seeds but lots of snacks that are prepackaged for nice convenience but Icee as well...ahhhh that just brings back so much memories but now you can enjoy it as a float or add some li hing as well now that's how we do it here. I'm not sure why I returned here after previous experiences but there I was. I'm a sucker for li hing mui especially when I'm at the mall. It seems that every single time I come to this store we are never greeted nor does anyone who works here ever have a smile on their faces. This past experience really turned me off once and for all and I swore I would never return here nor recommend this place to anyone I know. It seemed as though making a purchase was such a hassle for the worker. (I'm sorry for giving you any business.) We were watched like hawks as if anyone would steal any candies or seeds. I always passed by this little crack seed in the mall, but never went in until it was mentioned to me that this place had great gummi bears, seedless Li hing cherry, li hing guava seed and li hing guava. A sweet spot located on the second floor of Windward Mall. The crack seed selection is great, but we come here for the lemon peel gushers (juicy) and pickled mango. My first time here. They're located in Windward Mall 2nd floor in the middle area. Brought a group of 8 including myself. I heard about their Icee with Li Hing Mui juice. They also had it in a powder form too. But I wanted the juice. There was Nalu and Lorene behind the counter greeting us. They were very patient and helpful filling us in on this hype. I ordered 7 Icee Strawberry and 1 Vanilla with Li Hing Mui Juice. And they had it out in a flash. Every one in the group loved it including myself. The Li Hing Mui juice can be strong so a little of it can go along way. It was a refreshing cool treat on a hot day. The hype is real, lol. Great selection of seed candy and other candy you can hardly find at the big box stores. This past visit I tried the li hing lemon peel strawberry gummy bears, it was tasty. I also got those flake candies that reminds me of fireworks and my usual li hing plum candy. Ladies were nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable while exploring the many sweets around. There is a pretty great selection of seeds, candies, and snacks here. With all the Lemon Peel Candies being such the craze nowadays, I'm happy to have seen that there is a huge selection here, of all different types of candies. I wasn't trying to go overboard, so I stuck with just two 12oz containers which came out to $25! A little pricy, I think, but I'm not sure what the going rate is with these candies elsewhere. All I know is that the two that I tried here were better than any of the other Lemon Peel Candies I've tried anywhere else. **I had the Haribo Gummy bear Li Hing Lemon Peel, and the Li Hing Lemon Peel Gushers** These are currently my faves... I usually go to the Kaimuki Crack Seed Center for my seed cravings but Seeds and Things is also a regular stop for since I frequent the farmer's market at the Windward Mall. I like their selections and the girls working there are so friendly. I always buy my favorite lemon peel #12B and was disappointed when went there last week and found out that they ran out. But I returned a week later and stocked up on it. The seeds are good and they are on the cheaper side. I wouldn't mind if you asked if I wanted other things (like one of their icees since the machines are behind them) or if they didn't ignore me when I tried to help them recall what their coworker said to them- how many boxes she took elsewhere, which I said was "Yeah she said 8 boxes with a smile" or even my receipt since they use an outdated cash register. They really need to update their POS system and maybe smile more to attract more customers. I really miss the Crack Seed store in Ala Moana, broke my heart when it finally had to close down. I walked by this craptastic store yesterday on my way out and wanted to get something for my dad. No greeting, the 2 girls behind the cash wrap too busy gossiping about random stuff. I picked up one item and went to the register and had to wait for a few minutes for one of the girls to finish shuffling her ipod to the perfect Iggy Azalea song and grace me with her presence -_- She couldn't even crack a smile. It's Windward mall so you know it super dead. Your job of ringing up people and curling ribbons for lollipops is not difficult so looking a little interested in your one customer shouldn't be hard. Seeds 'n Things is my go to place for ICEE. When they see us walk up, they start getting the ICEE cups ready. Great memory or signs that I'm an ICEE addict? Seeds 'n Things is located at Windward Mall, 2nd level near Aeropostale. There is a lot of parking (lucky if you're in a mall). The store is open, as in no doors. The walls are lined with all kinds of Crack Seed items: shredded mango, li hing mui, salted seed, and so much more. There are a variety of candy that reminds me of when I used to eat all that stuff without gaining an ounce. (I wish for those days!) Lemon Drops, those little wax bottles with the flavored liquid inside, gummy colas... Soo good! But let's get to the ICEE! They have 3 sizes: small, medium, large. The cups are displayed on a ledge that is on the upper right of the register. There are usually 4 flavors for ICEE. I say usually because sometimes the machine can go down. My favorite is strawberry. Coca-cola, blue vanilla, and melon (?) are the other flavors (do NOT take this as gospel, I tend to order the same thing without taking note of what other options are there). I usually get the ice cream option (vanilla) for an extra charge. And recently, I have come to appreciate adding li hing powder to my frozen treat (also additional charge). FANTASTIC!!! You can get the liquid li hing squirted in there (additional charge), but I personally think it's too strong for my mouth. My ICEE creation is just the best for a hot day or just a treat! The service here is wonderful! The staff is always ready to grab your crack seed treats or serve your ICEE just the way you ask for it. Once, I was ordering for the whole family (5 of us) and trying to figure out how I was going to get all those cups home. No problem! They have a selection of unique snacks that you can't find anywhere else. They have great gifts that are so cutely packaged. Their customer service is awesome, everyone is so sweet and helpful. I'm sorry but I came here not to bash or talk bad I just wanted to share my experience, for cotton candy and icee, I was waiting at the register and the staff was talking story and minding their own business, I made eye contact with them and they knew I was ready, so they came up and just rung me up for cotton candy and told me my total, not one asking me if that was all or making a small conversation like hi is that everything , NOPE, they kept talking to to each other and kept going their conversation, so I asked can I get an large strawberry icee, she wasn't paying attention and she said okay a coke icee, and I said no strawberry, and the other girl said here okay and they went back to their conversation not even acknowledgement or Anything. And payed and nothing she said okay , no thank you for coming or no consideration for the customers, it would've only taken a minute (if that) to do my order but instead it took literally 5 minutes to do a $6.00 Order for two things. He was extremely rude to me and I am the type of person who won't go back if I am offended and made to feel degraded.
