Located close to Macy's at Pearlridge I always walked by but never stepped in. A crack seed shop in my neighborhood ran out of their glass jar of seedless li hing cherry strips. I'm on the search for something similar but no luck so far. Besides preserved fruits they have lots of candy kiddies might enjoy. I chose li hing cherry and li hing ginger. I took the half pound ginger to the park today and gave half to my granddaughter. It's delicious. The employee was friendly and told me how long they've been in business. read more

Shopping for snacks at Pearlridge Mall... Located on the ground level of the Macy's wing, you'll find a kiosk named "Seed City" under the stairs. My friend was looking for wet Mango slices in a jar. It's those big containers filled with preserved fruit. The worker will scoop out some seed (such as li hing mui), place it in a package, and weigh it. Seed City also has pre-packaged snacks - great for gift giving! I'll have to come back after I find out if this is the kind of mango that my friend wants. I'm quite sure that this is the one! read more

I have so many memories of going to crackseed stores with my Grandma when I was younger. Seed City has been on the ground level of Pearlridge outside Macy's for as long as I can remember, but I've never been here with my Grandma. Anyway, I was doing my Christmas shopping this year (2022), and I'm really into buying unique gifts for each person I buy for. So this year, some people are getting Crack seed. Oh boy though! I didn't know nowadays it's almost $25/ pound! I don't know prices from when I was younger, but dang I was surprised! Either way, I don't mind paying thise prices to help keep a local small business alive and thriving. read more

This place brings me back memories I use to come here when a was a small kid. Wow that's many years ago possibly over 40 years. Their also located the same place under the stairway of Pearlridge near Macy's. Hopefully it's the same owners because nowadays local businesses don't last especially now with this pandemic. My older sister always brought me to Pearlridge every Friday when she use to get paid and treat me to McDonald's for dinner and also bought me a toy . Now that I'm adult it's time for me to pay her back . I think next time I'm at Seed City I should buy my sister something to bring back memories. Keep on supporting local . read more

Came here for a snack while walking around the mall, I originally just came here for the infamous Li hing Mui strawberry Icee but ended up with a few treats as well. Just looking at all the different seeds will make your mouth water. If you buy anything from the Jars it is bagged in front of you and scaled and charged by weight. Some items can be a little pricey but it's well worth the cost. Seed City is located near Macy's in Pearlridge Uptown area. The workers were friendly when helping us pick out the different seeds, I'm glad I stopped here. read more

Located in an island of the mall in Phase I, by Macy's. I used to frequent here in the past. They have a new owner who bought it out about 8 months ago. They still have the same items and the quality is still awesome. Grace helped me with the Icee topping and read my mind before I could say it. She said, Yes, I do have Li Hing Mui Powder and Syrup. Wow, I'm thinking, she read me like I had that look of wanting more, lol. I had a medium Strawberry Icee with Li Hing Mui powder. She even put a real Li Hing Mui Seed on top. It hit the spot! It was so soothing and flavorful that 15 minutes later, I came back to order another one. This is my new go too place whenever I'm in the mall. read more

I love local candy stores like Seed City! I tried their pickled mango but the flavor wasn't my cup of tea. I know next time not to get it there. I love their li hing mui gummy worms. They use the sour crawlers that look like the Trolli gummies and it mixed with the li hing mui powder, it makes it so tasty and addicting! I am also a big fan of their strawberry icee with li hing mui juice. The first couple sips are so sour because of the juice but when it has a chance to mix in with the icee, the flavor is perfect. This is a favorite of my bf and I. Another thing I like getting from there is their cola & strawberry icee mixed in a cup. Another nostalgic flavor from when I was younger. When used to go to the local crack seed store across the street from my elementary school. The people who work there are really nice. I like the young man who always works there. He's always in a good mood, makes good conversation and is very well mannered. Although this place is really small. Their icees are spectacular and customer service is excellent! read more

As you enter this little shop, you get transported to your childhood. There's seed jars, various types of candies and an icee machine. My order today was two icees, one with lihing mui juice and powder and other with ice cream, chocolate gummy bears, fun dip and yan yans. The icee here is probably the best, don't know what they do but it's soft, sweet and juicy/slushy. The flavor lasts until the last sip. The service was great as usual and the treats hit the spot while walking through the mall. read more

The workers there are super friendly, and I was craving a li hing mui Icee, he even topped it with a li hing mui seed. They have regular candy bars, and small chips. Then of course their famous jars of seeds. Even bagged li hing mui and lemon peeled treats. It's hard to find real crack seed places on the island now days. I love this place. read more

This place reminds me of the crack seed that was located in the shopping center near my house. I remember always stopping by after school with my cousins back in the day to get a snack and even a bag of pogs which at the time was sold for 10 for $1 ... or may have been 20 for $1. Lol Anywho, I always come here for their icee! My go to is the strawberry lihing icee. It always fulfills my sweet(sour)tooth. That never fails, however their crackseed may be a little on the pricier side compared to their competitors. The lady that works there doesn't speak much English but is super friendly. It's located right outside of Macy's under the stairwell, it's sort of dark but you won't miss it. read more

BUYER BEWARE! STAY CLEAR OF THIS DUMP! I should have known better when I asked this overly ambitious sales/owner lady for a sample of her SO CALLED PRUNE MUI and she refused! How stupid could I be but I was ono. So I grudgingly forked over the $7.35 a quarter pound she quoted me at, which for some reason turned into almost $8.50. Needless to say I'm already a little bothered but as if to add Chile pepper water to the wound, I opened this small container holding about 7 prunes and 2 apricots that had NO BUSINESS calling itself prune mui. There was NO MUI or anything else remotely resembling prune mui. People when I tell you that this lady simply poured a bag of generic prunes and a few apricots into one of those old school glass crack seed jars I kid you not! Oh I was so pissed off especially cuz I was so ono yah, I had to go and tell this lady what I thought of her scamming me. I honestly cannot believe what some of these totally greedy, unscrupulous, scam artists posing as business owners perpetrate on the good-hearted local customers that unfortunately patronize their dumps! read more

I'm sure everyone has used a serve yourself Icee machine- and it probably sucked. The Icee was fluffy and airy. First, you fill the Icee cup half way. Next, you tap it on the counter. Then, you add some more Icee. Basically you repeat the tap and fill until your Icee cup is nice and packed. Five stars just for the Icee here! Is there a special miniature Icee packer person in the machine making it the perfect thickness and consistency? Just so you know if you get your Icee with lihing juice AND ice cream a small it will cost you almost $5.00 for a small (upward for other sizes). In the shops defense, the Icee here is the most amazing Icee ever. I love crack seed shops that still put seed in the big jars! I like that the shop offers samples of the seed before you purchase. I guess it should be expected when it's $16.95 a pound-- eek more expensive than poke!!! I can confirm that the wet seeds such as prune mui and lihing wet man go are this price. Factoring in the cost $$$$(yes four dollar signs for a seed place) and selection I give the seed a 3 star rating. In the end, the shop has other snacks and goodies but the snack here cost more than say purchasing it at Longs (i.e.Yan Yans $1.69 in sale at longs can be $0.89). It's a nice, convenient option! read more

My grankids love the gummies and strawberry iccee! Tasty prune mui and li hing snacks. Friendly kine service

This is the crackseed kiosk located on the bottom floor of Pearlridge Center Uptown near Macy's. The thing we love here most is the Icee...which is possibly the best on the island. I'm told it's the Icee machine that they use which creates the perfect consistency all Icees should be served at. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's not too soft, thick...it's just right! My favorite is the strawberry Icee with li hing mui sauce...MMMMMMMM! Give it a try the next time you're looking to beat the heat and need something to sooth your sweet tooth! read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Bad service and sassy. She knew I was at the wrong store and when I asked about the store I wanted to go (Sweet Treats) she said yes that store is at Pearlridge but she doesn't know the location. What a liar. I did buy something from them and was going to anyway, but shady business practices. Super overpriced too. Beware and don't go to them. I always try and support small local businesses but not one that has no morals. read more

I am going to be honest. I absolutely love the food and place and I would come to this location for years... but they hired new staff and they gave me the WORST ATTITUDE! (I am super nice, I give aloha even if people are in a bad mood kinda person) so I gave the benifit of the doubt for the rude customer service 2 MORE TIMES :( It starts with - A Korean Lady gave me a difficult time just trying to buy some items (she comes back later in the story). Then, the next time I came, a younger girl gave me sarcasm and attitude to my question regarding the drinks sold. THEN the last time I came, the SAME Korean lady got my order for the Icee wrong and started to tell me I was wrong and the drink she is making me is ok.... Seriously?!?! Then I said to her "I'd rather get the drink I wanted originally" and clarified multiple times the one I wanted. she then started to aggressively mumble Korean to herself(possibly taking about me) and gave my drink in a very rude manner. I'm super polite and nothing really gets on my nerves. But that was the last straw, and I'm really sad that I can't even enjoy coming to that place anymore without the bad customer service attached to it :( who know, I came here as a kid and I wanna just get my fav. Icee they sell, but I'm worried about the customer service provided... read more

Seed City has been conveniently located in Pearlridge Uptown, in the same spot under the stairs in the Macy's wing of the mall, for many years. I have been going to this place since I was a little kid! It's nice to see that they're still around. This pseudo crack seed kiosk store has a pretty decent amount of candy, seed, pickled fruit, and more. My favorite thing about this place is the Strawberry Icee! (If you're in for a kick, try the Strawberry Icee with Li Hing juice.) There's definitely a wide assortment of snacks for the size of the place. I guess now that I'm older, things look smaller... But Seed City really does have a decent variety. Service is pretty friendly for the most part. And even when there's only one person working, which is more often than not, you'll still be greeted. Prices are a little more expensive than other grocery or drugstores, but I don't mind paying a little extra for convenience and also to help support local businesses. As for the seed and pickled fruits, you pay by weight. I guess that's pretty normal for most crack seed stores. Anyway, if you're in the area, Seed City is worth a try. Yelp 365 - #274/365 read more

To Sarah: They should have been gracious enough to replace Wendys seeds realizing that finding hair in a seed bag is totally ridiculous--and just flat out gross. Yes, it is awesome that Seed City is still keeping strong; however, we cannot overlook poor quality and unsatisfactory customer service. It is solely Seed City's responsibility to keep their business operations running at an optimal level; it it not our responsibility to appease them and accept poor quality, but to hold them to high food quality standards, especially at the price point they charge. read more

This is one of the longest reigning and first kiosks that is holding it down at uptown Pearlridge! I remember going here all the time during small kid time when cruising around the mall with friends and stuff. We always used to get the Icee. They only get twp flavors for the Icee which is the classic and original Coke and Strawberry. You can even get Icee Float which is da bomb. They have other cool snacks too like the famous li hing seeds, candy, chocolates, bubble gum, and so much more. It's conveniently located next to the stores of Crazy Shirts, Radio Shack, and Thisit in the uptown side of Pearlridge mall. The prices are decent. The staff and customer service is great. It's the best pit stop before, during, or after a long day of shopping around the mall especially during the holiday season. Yelp 365 Challenge #117/365 read more

Seed City is located in between ThisIsIt and Radio Shack at Uptown Pearlridge. They have a huge assortment of seeds, pickled items, candy, ice cream, chocolate, etc. They weight the items in the jars by the pound and it can get pretty pricey. The candies are also a little more expensive than Longs or Walmart for example... but when my niece wants candy I have to get it at that moment I guess lol. By far Seed City has THE BEST ICEE MACHINE EVER!!! It's always SUPER THICK!! I HATE a thin, watery icee! I dunno what they do to the machine but I kid you not it's always thick! You really need your sucking skills to suck it up at first... ha ha ha! The staff is SO friendly too! CASH ONLY! read more

This place used to be my go to spot for that icee w/ li hing mui fix. This recent visit tho, super sour and maybe I'm just getting older and it's not my thing anymore but I had a hard time drinking it. I know it's like you get what you ask for thing but back a couple (5 maybe?) years ago, it was bomb. It's cash only so come prepared if not there's an atm right outside of Macy's. They got li hing mui seeds of course, vending machine like candies and also mom and pops store kine candies. My son opted for this candy spray you spray into your mouth. Tasted so good but made everything sticky. read more

Small Icee for $3.25. It wasn't cold and she didn't fill it all the way. What a ripoff.

I got some crack seed that was very good but I also got some tamarind candy (in the packages inside the class case). and it was so old that when I tried to open the candy the celophane paper fell to pieces. The candy was also crystallized so it had been there for a long time. Considering the size of the kiosk I can't see how it would be hard to check their stock. Wouldn't risk ever buying here again. It was a waste of $4. read more

I was hesitant about coming here after my last visit about 9 months ago when the worker was sassy and rude to me, but crack seeds brought me back to the store again last week Wednesday. The worker was very sassy (I guess that's a general trend with the staff?) and her overall demeanor was as if she wanted me out of the store already. I had just been looking at the crack seed jars and she kept rushing me. I hurriedly left and went to Sweet Treats instead on the other side of the first floor, where they had prune mui too, which was what I was looking for. Don't waste your time here. read more

poor customet service. wanted to buy 1 or 2 lbs of pickled mango. They would not let us taste it. At $17 @lb. they are over priced. Will never shop there again. Gal was more interest in feeding her face than helping us. Not recommending this place to my ohana and friends. They suck!!!!!! read more

The reason I love this place is LI HING ICEE. Yes, it's almost a whole extra dollar for li hing, but they use the li hing JUICE, not the powder, and man does it make a difference! It's a little pricey for an icee, but it's my guilty pleasure. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews, in fact, this is my first. But this one bad & unfair experience cannot be swept under the rug. I frequent Pearlridge a lot, & this one particular time I was craving crack seed! I was very excited and looking forward to stopping at Seed City to get my fix. I only purchased a quarter pound, which should've been enough, especially at $22.00 a pound, & something for my grandson. As I walked away, I placed my finger in the package to grab a seed. While I pulled out a seed I was also tugging on a strand of hair with it. I got totally grossed out & turned around to return it & get my money back. They refused to give back my money & wanted me to exchange it for something else. There was nothing else I wanted from them let alone anything from their seed jars. I wasn't returning it because I changed my mind or that I didn't like it. I was returning it because there was hair in it & I could no longer consume it. Initially, there was no apology but an insinuation that it could've been my hair? Now, I was very upset! I told the 2 clerks behind the counter that if they needed the money to keep it. I also tossed them the snack I bought for my grandson. If that wasn't bad enough, as I walked away, one of the clerks started to taunt me. The same clerk that was laughing weirdly when I got there, it was so weird that I had to stretch my neck to see where it was coming from. This all happened on 2/3/19 at around 12:30 p.m. read more
