Ice cream was very good! To me it was a mix of frozen yogurt and Italian ice. Service was great! They offered us a sample. I had the coconut and coffee! Delicious
Soooo many choices! I love coming in here (partly cause the ice cream (or is it sherbert?) and also the yummy delicious smell of the fresh popped popcorn. I stopped in for a cup to eat while I went shopping at Times next door. I was going to get a pre-packaged flavor (there are so many to choose from!) but I was intrigued by the flavors that were in the machine - Yuzu and Japanese grape. I got a sample of the grape so I could make an informed decision. The nice guy working also offered me samples of the Strawberry or Yuzu but I've tried those flavors before. First off, let me just say the sample is a pretty generous size and was a couple spoonfuls. After much musings, I decided not to go with the grape and ended up getting Strawberry and Yuzu. Because they are in different machines I couldn't get a swirl but I did get one cup half & half. The sherberts are not heavy and have such yummy flavor. The yuzu was light and neither flavor was overly sweetened. (at least I don't think so). I was also able to eat my whole cup while I shopped so it was the best shopping snack. Needless to say, I know I'll be back here cause there's so many flavors I need to try. Don't take my word for it, go check it out yourself!
Aloha Creamery was incredible. Owner Justin was there and greeted us with his friendly staff. He made us feel very comfortable. I like the modern look of the store, very clean and inviting. We got a whole bunch of stuff and I got to say that everything was crunchy and fresh. Very tasty especially my fav with a little spiciness on certain packages. This place is super good. I like the guri guri style ice cream. They even had a non-dairy flavor too. The pop corn is always fresh to order as well.
Heard about this new snack shop in Aiea!!!Formerly Samurai, ground floor, near Times Supermarket. A must-try!!! Owner Justin and his staff were very hospitable! We tried samples of their sorbets and I requested one that was "Dairy-Free" Luckily they had a Dairy-Free Japanese Grape flavor which was Super Delish & Refreshing! We had fun talking story & showing them Magic! :D They have cute reusable bags too! Definitely returning to try other Popcorn flavors, Snacks & Dairy-Free sorbet!!! BIG LOVE & MAHALO!!!
We are from Kentucky and found this wonderfuL creamery! Homemade and delicious, we almost want to go back for seconds. The staff are amazing, very helpful, informative and helped to choose a flavor. You might not have tried. Mahalo aloha creamery.
A cool spot in Aiea... Aiea Shopping Center to be exact and I just wasn't prepared for the vibe I got with the selection of snack you'd find here while I came to grab a frozen treat to beat the summer heat as I walked in and immediately got the whiff of freshly popped popcorn which stopped me in my tracks and noticed the giant popcorn machine with the list of flavors you're able to have it shaken got this salty lover excited. Though moving on to the large display case in the back of the shop is a whole selection of cool treats with all the flavors written on the door made it so easy to browse though the decision was my biggest challenge and narrowed it down from "Strawberry Yuzu" and "Ube Matcha" but you know that Matcha will always win and as I moved on with my selection to purchase the shelves filled with grab and go snacks got me good though the shrimp chips was a definite no but the popcorn got me again and just grabbed pizza flavor, as I went to purchase at the service area noticed that they also have a single dairy-free flavor of "Salted Lime" but I didn't waste time to enjoy my Ume Matcha freeze and it was so good and loved how it was packed to the limit the container can hold and that's solid. Thank you!
Snacks in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i... My neighbor told me that this place is basically the same, but with a different name. Aloha Creamery is located next to Times Supermarket, underneath McDonald's. This is a small shop with flavored popcorn. The fresh fragrance immediately hits you when you walk inside! Along the wall is a bunch of other snacks. The display case features all types of guri guri-style ice cream. Unfortunately, all of the flavors are not dairy-free. (Sad face) Maybe next time??? Thank you to the staff for being very efficient and helpful! I also appreciate the free parking and wonderful air-conditioning!
Glad I finally found this little snack shop. My neighbor gave me a bag of Japanese curry flavored popcorn a month ago & it was so yummy. He said it's next to Aiea Times market. Shop is very Easy to find & has good parking. I got a sample of their coconut , vanilla & strawberry soft serve ice creams & they all were yummy. I got a few bags of popcorn to share with my family & neighbor & some matcha soft serve to go. I would have bought more soft serve to go containers if I had a bigger cooler bag in my car. I will come prepared the next time. Staff was very friendly too.
Such a fun little shop with all kinds of snacks and soft serve. I tried the Korean spicy and furikake chips and they were so delicious and unique. I honestly wish I had more room in my luggage to bring everything home. The person helping us was so sweet and friendly. She was also really quick with helping everyone. They also let you make your own popcorn flavors, which is awesome and super customizable. A great stop if you're into fun, flavorful snacks.
Supporting local has never tasted so good! I've been coming here for years since it was Samurai. Now that it's opened under a different name & family, we had to try! Right when we walked in, we were greeted with samples of their fresh soft serve. Today, they had strawberry/vanilla & lychee/chocolate in the other. Both were so creamy and refreshing. That's also multiple freezers with all different flavors. My newest obsession is anything ube so I had to try their ube/coconut. My hubby loves yuzu and grape and he was excited to see they had both! Lastly, our daughter is obsessed with anything rainbow and wanted the "rainbow" aka vanilla, strawberry, banana. They also have a huge wall full of local snacks from chips to seeds. Prices are very reasonable at $3 per small cup. They also had large sizes for ~$8. I'm so glad the new owners kept this shop a sorbet/crack seed store! We'll definitely be back because there are sooo many other flavors we want to try!
This place is great! They are located in the Aiea Shopping center next to Times. I discovered them a few months ago when I was making a quick stop at Times. I knew it was under new owners for about a year & saw them featured on Living 808 tv show awhile back. It is a family-owned business. This snack shop sells all kinds of goodies from freshly made popcorn offering different flavors, seed, arare, chips, and the best part, their frozen dessert. Some people call it ice cream or sorbet, but it tastes like the guri guri from Maui, which I love. Good to know I don't have to fly to Maui to get some anymore. This place offers so many flavors including local flavors. Besides the usual vanilla, strawberry, banana, chocolate, they have melon, mango, ube, coffee, matcha, lychee, lilikoi, pog, and more. They are sold in a 1/2 cup plastic container for only $2.99, which is a perfect serving size or a larger container for $3.99. From day one, I have become addicted & each time I visit, I'll buy at least 4 - 6 1/2 cups at a time just to try the different flavors. On my first visit, I couldn't make up my mind, so hard to choose. There are 3 display units of flavors. I was even offered a sample of the vanilla/strawberry flavor - yum! I have become a regular fan of Aloha Creamery. Customer service is outstanding. Everyone has been so nice and friendly showing real aloha. My go-to favorites have been the coffee, ube, lychee, orange-vanilla, & melon. The orange-vanilla tastes like the dreamsickle ice cream. If you want a cool refreshing frozen dessert with lots of local flavors to choose from, you need to give them a try. You can't go wrong - yummy dessert, friendly service, and clean place. Support local!
The old "samurai snack shop" taken over by another local family. Glad they continued to keep selling these products for young and young at heart adults to enjoy. It really brings out the kid in you. They sell freshly popped popcorn, soft serve ice cream, ice cake and other local snacks. All perfect items to have after school, work...or in between work hrs, bring to sports games or order for school parties. All workers are friendly and sometimes they offer you to sample their fresh soft serve of the day. The flavor combinations are all so yummy. More on the creamer side than the samurai recipes but at least they live up to their name.
An amazing place with so many flavors to get and choose from. Guri Guri with options of pre-packed in a freezer or softer serve with their interchanging flavors. They also served popcorn with your choice of seasonings. On the wall is a variety of candies. The workers are extremely nice and offer to help if it's your first time and can't decide.

Stopped by Aloha Creamery, and I haven't been here since it was still Samurai! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which always makes a place stand out. Service was quick and easy, making it the perfect grab-and-go spot. The soft serve is my favorite, and it definitely did not disappoint. I got the swirl with vanilla and strawberry. It was just as good as I remember it. Creamy, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. The small size was still pretty generous. There are lots of local snacks and goodies available for purchase. I haven't tried it yet but the customizable popcorn is such a fun touch too. So on! They have so many choices for ice cakes and popcorn. They also have two soft serve machines. One with classic blue vanilla and strawberry. The day we went, the other machine had chocolate and coffee. We got there later in the day and everyone was super friendly, and even offered samples. Wonderful guri guri or samurai ice type sorbet/ice cream. In the former Samurai Ice shop next to Times Aiea. Flavors are so good. Japanese purple grape, ramune, coffee, haulia, and green river just to name a few. Really can go wrong. Variety of sizes in soft serve or even take home containers. I often see many walk out with bag fulls of diff sizes and flavors. They also offer a variety of local candy and senbei (arare, kakimochi, mochi crunch... whichever you grew up calling it), and fresh popcorn with many flavor combos to try. I am loyal to my popcorn place but I do like how over here there keep the senbei separate till you want to mix it. read more

A small but mighty local snack shop located in Aiea. I came here with my twins one day and was greeted by the friendly staff behind the counter. There are plenty of snacks, soft serve, popcorn, and more! We even got samples of their soft serve flavors. I love that they have a freezer of "to-go" soft serve cups to enjoy at home or for a special occasion. My boys and I tried the lilikoi, mango, and cola float. We will be back to enjoy some more delicious soft serve and ono snacks! read more

Discovered this at the Food & New Product Show and my family and I were left wondering where has this place been our whole lives!! They were selling their popular popcorns and we bought a bunch of bags! Super delicious, make sure you get a sample. On the side, they were selling fried chicken and this could honestly be the best fried chicken on the island. It reminded me of the type of chicken you would get from the Manapua Man! read more

It was a bummer when Samurai closed their Aiea location, but great that Aloha Creamery opened up and took the old Samurai space. Same little shop FILLED with snacks galore! I can smell the fresh popped popcorn walking to this shop! I love all the different varieties of sherbet flavors, and great that they also packed in mixes flavors! I got the banana and chocolate sherbet and it is my favorite. Brought home a bunch to keep in my freezer. Service is welcoming and they are grateful for their customers. Plenty parking, huge parking lot for the shopping center. read more
OMG! I'm so disappointed that I didn't try this place sooner! Aloha Creamery is located in the lower level of Aiea Shopping Center right next to Times Supermarket which I frequent to do my grocery shopping. They are in the space that Samurai used to be in. After I was done with my shopping at Times, I decided to visit just to take a look around. My eyes were caught to all the pre-packed Guri Guri in multiple freezers...sooooo many flavors to choose from that I was in awe. The person behind the counter said they also have soft serves...the flavor for today was strawberry, vanilla and banana. She asked if I wanted to sample one...I chose the banana. It was sooooo creamy and sooooo flavorful...I was in heaven! I ordered a large cup with strawberry and banana to share with my husband. The strawberry was also awesome! The large cup was just enough for both of us...don't think I could've finished it myself. They also sell packaged goodies that's hung on the wall and fresh popped popcorn. Hmmm, maybe they should've chosen the name Guri's and Goodies...lol! Workers here were very nice and helpful and lots of parking. I will definitely be back! read more

This place is too good to pass up. When I do my Amazon return at UPs, I'm tempted to stop by and pick up some ice cream. I love Mango Yuzu. I ate it before I could take a picture. The lady behind the counter knows which flavors are good. The shop is small, but I'm hoping they'll have seating areas in the future. I want to sit there, watch tv and enjoy their ice cream. read more
YUM!!! I love buttered popcorn and am picky about it. I have to say, this is one of the best I've had. They take so much care to be sure that the popcorn is evenly and thoroughly covered! They also have so many varieties! There was so much to offer. Their snack wall was full. So many choices, as well. I also bought some frozen treats! Hit the spot! That as well, I had a difficult time choosing! Delish! I'll have to stop in again soon to try the soft serve sherbet!! Very friendly employees!! read more
lots of parking in aiea shopping center. greeted by the friendly staff with big smiles. place us very clean and has alot of other snack choices. hardest part is choosing what to grab. we ended up with 2 small and one big of the following flavors: coffee- was kinda like iced coffee and was ono and savory. da rainbow- was supah ono mix. classic strawberry guri-guri with da blue vanilla, but da banana was mean. lihing pineapple- this one stole da show... buggah is mayjah. like one light pineapple sherbert better den dole whip and get da lihing sour salty tart... was da best. read more

TL;DR Awesome spot for local treats! Fresh popped popcorn with tons of topping options and flavorful soft serve choices are the highlights. ----- I was grabbing some desserts from The Alley and decided to swing by this spot during my visit, and I'm so glad I did! Aloha Creamery is located on the bottom floor of Aiea Shopping Center next to Times. They offer a wide variety of crackseed, snacks, flavored popcorn, and soft serve. I ordered a large bag of flavored popcorn (hurricane style) for the holiday weekend and a tub of lychee soft serve. I was impressed with the worker's dedication to the popcorn making; he was saucing, sprinkling, twirling, and shaking with focus as I perused the various crackseed and snack options. He also suggested adding a dash of saimin powder (a special test flavoring) to the mix, which was a huge umami blast. Highly recommend. The soft serve was also delicious and refreshing. Apparently they use fresh fruits to flavor everything, which I thought was a nice bonus. They continue to try out new flavors and different combinations, so I'm excited to return to test them out! read more

Always love coming here! Ever since the owner (I think) suggested the dashi flavor. I've been hooked! Like I actually crave it! My only concern is that altho I bought a small and a medium (they call it a large) size bags, they both came with only 1 packet of arare. The price difference was $1 more for the small and $2 more for the medium to add the arare. And IMO, the amount of arare is really worth only $1 bcs it's very little. Will have to add more for the medium bag when I get home. read more
