Not what I expected... It's been a great while since I've been to the food court and decided to see what's up there instead of driving around to figure what I was craving and was happy to see Bee's Boba Express in the corner. Super cute kiosk filled with various drink offering including floats, smoothies and even shave ice cups. I really didn't want something too sweet just a refreshing drink on this hot and humid day as just entering the air conditioned building alone felt like my skin was healing, so I decided on a Apple Green Tea which sounded nice and though looking at the menu and pics I seriously didn't think it would really be that vibrant green but in fact it was actually much more greener like I'm having straight syrup which is what it tasted like....super super sweeeeet. OMG for mer personally nothing could have saved it not adding water or tea which I can believe it contained tea all I could taste was sweet...sigh! The staff was nice and friendly very efficient in making my drink but after just a few sips it had to go. They were one of the first ever to serve bubbles or pearls in teas, coffee and smoothies at the 99 Ranch in Māpunapuna. Now they are situated in the NEX food court serving delicious bubbles and pearls smoothies and ice cream as well. Refreshing beverage at the NEX Food (Navy Exchange) Court in Honolulu, Hawaii... Bee's Boba Express used to be at Moanalua 99... before the complex closed down and became Home Depot. Now, Bee's Boba Express is upstairs of the Pearl Harbor Exchange. Just go up the elevator, escalator, or stairs. No ID necessary! There's free parking, good air-conditioning in the spacious area, lots of inside and outside seats, and a convenient restroom! Bee's is near the elevator - you can't miss this bright yellow vendor. Service was quick and friendly! I got a Peach Green Iced Tea with Rainbow QQ (colorful gel cubes). It was a bit sweet - even after I let the ice melt. I added about a cup of water when I got home... Remember back in the 1990s when that little boba shop opened in 99 Ranch and started off the boba revolution in Hawai'i??? I do! And Danny and Jessica are back! They are here at the NEX (food court open to the public) - look for the signature YELLOW walls that makes it cheerful and easy to find. We brought our kids. And it's so nostalgic and delicious. I used to go to Bee's back when they had a location in 99 ranch all the time. I've been to this location once or twice before but I haven't been in years. This one is located in the nex food court. I grabbed lunch here one day and was craving something sweet after having curry for lunch. I decided to get pineapple mango smoothie with boba. It was made pretty quick and it definitely hit the spot. I like that the boba was a little chewy. Definitely will be back again. read more

I visited at 10:45 AM and a lady was still setting up and when I got closer to the counter, she asked how many drinks I was interested in and when I said 2 she offered to make them for me earlier than opening. I ordered a Matcha smoothie with Azuki and Boba. The Boba was nice and soft is a good balance of sweet & matcha flavor similar to Starbucks. I was able to ask for extra flavoring to make it stronger. They offer a variety of toppings to put in your drink. QQ is jelly topping. Classic homemade local business in Hawaii for many years. They do not have a phone number nor any website or social media. They do accept AmEx, Mastercard, VISA and Discover with tap to pay. They are located on second floor of NEX food court, on the left of the escalator. The flavor tasted extremely artificial and unpleasant, and it was overwhelmingly sweet. I could not even finish half of it and ended up throwing it away. This was the worst bubble tea I have ever tried, and it felt like a complete waste of money. read more

Absolutely love this place for a refreshing Boba smoothies. I have tried several flavors and Lychee coconut Boba is so good. I love that they have so many options to try and add ons so you can come here many times and try something new. Their cups are also sealed and perfect for your commute. One thing to note. This is one of my favorite Boba places on O'ahu! I used to frequent them a lot when they were at 99 ranch. I recently visited the NEX (Navy Exchange Mall - 4725 Bougainville Dr, Honolulu, HI 96818) with my brother-in-law and to my surprise they were located on the second floor. I'm not in the military and I thought you needed to be in the military to get in. However, there was a policy change and you don't need a military ID to go to the food court on the second floor. (Just an FYI for their non-military customers) The owners recognized me as well! Which proves their quality of service. The NEX has lots of parking and there is a lot of seating areas inside and out. We ordered the Lychee coconut, mocha caramel, and green tea. Drinks were delicious as always. We would definitely be back! read more

This kiosk use to make some of the best drinks with boba. The last time I got one I had to throw it away- the bobas were hard. That was several weeks ago so, I decided to give it another try. On 7-19-2021I ordered a Blended matcha green tea with Bobas. This time around it was even worse! The bobas were not even round neither soft or chewy. They were like eating an Azuki bean. It broke into may pieces as they came out . Totally disappointed AGAIN!!! I would like for the Vendors to see what is going on ??? First thoughts: WOW WOW WOW! I've been from the Bay Area to the East Coast and now Hawaii. This is literally the BEST boba I have ever had. It's not only fresh but flavorful, you can taste the freshness. I had the Taro Coconut smoothie with tapioca pearls and my husband had a piña colada with tapioca pearls. We tried to compare to any places we've been before but the pearls are so good and the smoothies are so fresh. The price is something to mention. This place is SUPER affordable, I couldn't believe I've paid $11 per cup for bad boba and this place was $5 a cup of boba. Like mind blown . The service was quick, even though there was only 1 worker. There's an outdoor patio right outside of this place so it's a perfect place to stop and smell the fresh air. Same owner as the Bee's Dessert House in the Moanalua 99. I have been enjoying the freshly blended fruit smoothies rather than the milk tea. They offer avocado coconut but it's not on the menu. I've also asked for just a taro smoothie and they can do too (on menu would be taro/coconut). I add mochi with boba and it's an additional charge. This location had been more reliable than the other location for some reason. It's just a bit of a pain to get to from the parking lot and having to go upstairs to the food court. This location is always busy and most times there's just one person working so just need to be patient. read more

Honestly, it's like this place doesn't even try to serve good boba. On an island that has countless other boba tea shops, your focus should be on striving to be better than your competitors. Very disappointed with this boba place in the NEX food court. First of all, they got my order wrong. Second of all, boba is warm...who drinks a warm boba drink. Defeats the purpose of getting an ice-cold drink in the middle of the day. Finally, drink is so sweet, I could barely drink it. I think if I were to finish my drink thinking I don't want to waist my money, I would probably get diabetes. Tried their strawberry smoothie with mochi balls ($5.18 for a small) and IMHO it's actually better than their original location in Mapunapuna (Moanalua 99 building). Honestly the worst bubble tea place I ever been to. I ordered blue vanilla and lychee coconut with lychee QQ. They have messed up on my order, the lychee coconut twice... first time they gave me boba when I asked for lychee. Second instead of making me a new drink they just added in the lychee.. so now my drink is filled with boba and lychee.. I gave up on them because it already took them 30 mins to make the drinks... the lychee coconut is super watery and the blue vanilla is very bland. The staffs are lazy and they were on their phones.. When it's hot, go to Bee's. Wait....just go period. I can't believe I haven't Yelp this place yet? I've been here more than an handful of times and never been disappointed. Of course, I only get a couple of drinks. It's either the avocado or (surprise, surprise) ube for me. Bee's uses the word taro instead. The avocado drink uses half an avocado. It's very good and on a hot day very rewarding. On a few occasions when they ran out of avocados, it's the taro coconut mix. It's not as good as Magnolia because at Magnolia they use more ice cream but still good. Since it's a coconut mixture you can compare it to Infinitea's UB in love. You've read both those reviews right? Anyway here you can control on how sweet you want your drink. Just remember to tell them when ordering and ask for a taste before they seal your drink. It seems all the drinks come with boba balls. I replace them with monchiko balls instead. Of course, you can get different kinds along with a fruit mix but my go to is the mochi. Because it's inside the Navy Exchange Mall, people might think it's only customers are military or military affiliated. Not true, civilians can visit the food court. Think of Costco. If the food court isn't inside the warehouse, you don't need a membership card to eat right? Overall four stars. Drink variety is fantastic and prices and reasonable. Plenty of seating and food court area is very clean. Downside is sometimes they use too much ice and still leave some big chunks in the drink. I have been here twice now. I get the lychee flavor. They are one of the few boba places to have lychee as a choice. It does come as a smoothie. The boba itself is a nice consistency, the flavor is there (not too light not too heavy). I haven't tried the actual milk teas but I'm sure they are good . It is reasonably priced and located in the NEX foodcourt. I do know they do not use the fruits itself as a flavor; I believe they use a syrup or powder. A sold stop to get boba. read more

This is my favorite spot after a day shopping at the NEX. I love their crystal shave ice matcha green tea cup shave ice.
