first time coming here after living in the neighborhood for two years and seeing people constantly go, it was finally time to try it. The food was good, so many choices and a variety! I wish I got to try the magnolia grill part - I wasn't sure how it worked and the woman behind it did not look the friendliest. I saw people be curious but never try it I think due to this. But what really won me over to make the visit even better was our server - EDDY! He was so sweet, kind and helpful! Always asking if we needed anything, always there to refill our drinks and help keep our table clean of plates. I saw him clean a whole table of 8 by himself in under 5 minutes. Google review was 4 stars .... Should have checked here first . The decor looks nice and fancyish, 3 rows of food , sushi in a small corner , "Mongolian" grill bar with raw shrimp ,chicken veggies . I set my standards a bit lower for buffets but wow , was not a fan of. Anything that contained beef with drowning in a gooey sauce, the beef cuts were long ,chewy and not tasty. Chicken options were ok if they are fresh . Only really liked the cheese puffs. Desserts were ok , I liked this coconut pieces they had. Would not come back , would not recommend. OK I gave this thing a second try never say that I haven't given a second try! We went to this place when it opened the long awaited opening of the newest Buffet in town. Back then I was a little disappointed and didn't wanna go back again considering the super expensive price $19 a person was not worth the food! But I went back today for a second try my wife and daughter and I went and tried the food let's just say picture of the worst Chinese buffet you've ever been to and Take away a point! I'd say 90% of the food was overcooked and floating in some sort of sauce, cold the salads Caesar salad the forks and everything were floating in the tray, potatoes that they had the pepper potato's some where done somewhere not but All were cold! All of the fried food is soaked in grease you could squeeze them out and get 3 ounces of grease per serving and overdone hard to tell what was even in it. The best part of this place was the guy that cooked me a steak that was the only thing that was warm and done right, And the ladies that serve us drinks they were on it on the spot getting me iced tea all the time. Not all Chinese buffets are equal. We tried Lins last night. Good selection. Very clean and real nice inside. Staff was very on spot. Now the food. The variety is okay. Mongolian barbecue was just okay. It's due to the limited types of sauces they have, noodles were chewy. The sushi selection was not a selection. Just cali rolls of different types. The whole shrimps were soggy from sitting in sauce. A lot of the dishes somehow need more seasoning. The fried rice was inedible due to no flavor. Desserts were limited and not all that special. Some aspects of the description should be updated. There is no mask requirement nor do employees wear them. First the good: I was pleasantly surprised as to how clean it was. After going to Woo Chi on an occasion or two and seeing how dilapidated that place is... this place was a nice change. Staff was also very nice and attentive. Now the not-so-good: Most of the food lukewarm at best. Unless you get something at a fresh turnover you might want to wait on it. To their credit it seemed like they turned them over and kept them full pretty often. But as this was my first time there; I didn't catch on right from the start. Flavors were fairly bland as well. Many of the dishes did resemble their namesake but only barely. Not terrible for sure. But also may not scratch the itch. Now for my own personal travesty . They served Buffalo wings and not traditional crispy fried Chinese wings. These sad chicken sat in sauce and to be fair they looked so tired I didn't even try them. In retrospect, I wish I had scouted the items out because I would have left. You can't really get crispy Asian wings anywhere else. If I wanted Buffalo wings I'd go to native. I realize I may be in the minority but I hit these types of buffets for crispy wings even over crab legs (which they did not have here btw - but I didn't ask if they ever carry crab or not). After going to to this establishment for several years I am at a decision for my health this place has to go. Just on the naughty list for multiple violations. Yet no attempt for the better. The restrooms had no attention for a while. Trash over flowing. Toilets were unsanitary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is just the look of the place. Food was very subpar. 17.00 per person. Sure they have a lot of choices but when the choices are limited due to quality it doesn't add up. After eating at a few things never finding that 1 that was good , I started feeling nausea before even leaving . Like I said. This is sad. I have been here years past and alway looked forward to going back. Now I warn you all to take a moment to think about your stomach before going here. Sigh another fail for a good buffet. My mom & I have been to tons of buffets originally we're from WA state so we have some of the greatest buffets. There's literally no buffet in AZ that has crab legs / seafood options / decent shrimp size & they only crab on holidays. I compare it to Panda Express but serve it yourself. Prices were too bad. But the first trip up there is little beef. Mainly seafood and chicken. Fried rice was good. When I got food for my toddler I couldn't even touch the tongs because they were so hot they melted the gloves we had to wear. One of my older girls got a small burn on a finger and the workers just stood there and watched her continued tries. Another customer came up and assisted. So many items were just not good at all. You walk in and the place reaks of fish throughout the building. I never heard of fried shrimp with the shell still on and not cleaned properly. We asked for a manager and he tells us they cook them like that because some people like to eat the shell. I told him I choked on a piece, which I really did and he acted like it was no big deal. Food was great !!!!!!!! They have a wide variety and it's well seasoned. The service was good too. Every time we got up to get more food, we came back to full drinks and a clean table. There are sanitizer dispensers throughout the restaurant and gloves. I love that they have paper plates, plastic cups & plastic utensils. Very clean. If I could give 0 stars I would. To start, the food was mediocre at best. We picked around our plates and pretty much only ate the dumplings. My husband went back to grab my son and me dessert but ended up only able to take a few bites of that also. But that's not why I would give such a bad review. Someone thought the food was so horrible that they decided to throw it back up on the carpet. We noticed it part of the way through and that obviously turned us off from being able to eat anymore. Nobody bothered to actually clean it up but rather just sprinkled coffee grounds on it. The smell of vomit and coffee is still in my nose. When my husband went to the register to fill them that he wasn't able to eat and ask for a refund, the hostess mentioned this was the second time someone threw up, TODAY! She said she would speak with the manager, Linda, about getting us 1 meal refunded. We didn't even ask for a full refund because we knew we ate part of our meal. Linda stayed back in the office to watch video before coming out to tell us she watched him eat two plates of food. Absolutely false. He did grab two plates of food. One plate he had maybe 4 bites of food from and the other plate was my dessert I was hoping to eat. We gave her the opportunity to do the right thing and she refused. We told her we were going to leave a review instead to which she shared her lack of concern. Now we're out $80, feeling nauseous and so disappointed in how the manager decided it's completely ok to lose customers. Went on 1/26/2021 5:45 pm we had a party of 4 my, wife ,myself, my son and his wife we all found the food to be COLD. I like sushi ( I make sushi at home ) so i went to the sushi area and found that they only serve 6 items. The rice was OVER COOKED AND MUSHY with very little rice vinegar taste. My wife did find a baked potato but was told they don't serve sour cream only butter. the potato was undercooked and hard in places We talked with the girl bussing and serving water and she said she had talked to the manger about the COLD FOOD AND LATER ABOUT THE POTATOS BEAING NOT FULLY COOKED. We received no response from anyone. My wife, myself and my son all tried the Mongolian grill only to have all 3 dishes over cooked and unable to eat (We were not the only ones to have a problem) While standing there waiting for our food I noticed food servers dumping partial trays of hot food on top of the cold food. My wife watched a server with an open gallon can of peaches set down on the food counter and spoon it into the partially full pan of peaches. Facebook wrote about the opening on 1/21/2021 at a cost of $12.99 for dinner. When we got there on 126/2021 we were told the cost was now $ 13.99 We had been told that Lin's food was very good.
