Ordered five lunch combos to go on a Tuesday. Chicken moo goo gai pan, beef with broccoli, chicken egg fu young, sesame chicken, and beef lo mein. Each combo came with fried rice, a spring roll, and crab rangoon, it was a lot of food for $10.95! It was all shared family style among four adults, we had enough leftovers for dinner. We requested low sodium for all of the combos (trying to keep our HTN in check), it was still tasty! There was a good amount of protein in each dish too! My order was ready when they said it would be, 15 min. I was warmly welcomed upon arrival. There's a decent amount of tables and booths to accommodate small parties. I ordered thru Uber. Got my food and it was missing the 1 order of 2 Spring rolls. I call chens and the lady argued with me saying she did give me the spring rolls. I have them right in front of me. I did everything else came the soup, the chow mein, the rice, etc. but absolutely no spring rolls just all the sauces for them. I'm not a fan of leaving one star reviews because I'm nobody special but I will give you my opinion based on the last interaction I've had with this business. Decided to give this place a try after not coming in for years. They've got a table when you first walk in the restaurant that takes up quite a bit of space and has stuff all over the top and the sides and just looks dirty. That is where you will order your food. They've got people eating off of paper plates as dine in customers which I find to be extremely tacky and low budget. After paying a higher price than most of the other places around for food, I ended up throwing out most of the food. Hardly any flavor to the Kung pow chicken, overcooked noodles in the lo mein, just not my style. Once again, I'm one person with one opinion, but I most definitely will not be coming back. read more

First of all, this place really is not set up like a restaurant anymore. I really wanted to like this place as it was good years ago. We ordered drinks right away one water and one hot tea. My tea tasted like it was made with hot sink water with 2 tea bags in it. Yay! I loaded it with 6 Slender sweeteners, so that it tasted like something. My wife got ice water, the same tasted like regular sink water with some ice in it.. We ordered a few things and I was not impressed. My wife just wanted Fried rice and some soup. It all comes in takeout containers, which actually is not a bad idea. It was good, I tasted it. I ordered Pineapple Shrimp and the small number of veggies were not even cooked in the dish, they were raw. I mixed them with sweet and sour and soy sauce to get some flavor in it and surprisingly, it was good. The pineapple was good and the coconut shrimp was absolutely terrible. I ask the gentleman to remove it from table as it smelled funny, Tasted old. He offered to bring me a new dinner, and he did bring me chicken broccoli which was actually very good. The shrimp tasted over cooked and old. I always loved their egg rolls before; they are more like spring rolls and not as good. 3/9/2025 Wife and I tonight. Parking 5/5 Sunday evening rush came after we arrived. Ambiance 3/5 Mr. Chen was one of a handful of restaurants that remained open albeit take service during the COVID lockdowns. I haven't forgotten that and his serving our community. But it's time to get back to regular decor and table settings and save the styrofoam for take home and leftovers. Almost every restaurant has returned to business as usual a year ago. We want the Charming Chen's to return. Service 5/5 Sat immediately, Tea order came to us quickly and order taken. Our made it to the table 5-10 tops. Food 3/5 Sweat and Sour Pork over cooked. Egg Foo Young flavor was off and the White Rice was clumped and not fluffy. Our Egg-Drop Soup was good as were the Spring Rolls. Sunday a bad day to visit? We have ordered Chinese food Chens a few times now. We usually call in our order or just wait about 20 minutes for them to make it. We ordered the Mongolian Chicken again with no spice and no vegetables, which also comes with white rice. We also ordered the Wonton soup. All of it was delicious! We had family in town and they also enjoyed their meals. The food at Chens is always consistent and delicious. Also, the servings are very generous and we always have plenty of leftovers. We enjoyed our takeout. We had cream cheese, wontons, potstickers, scallops with vegetables, wonton soup, and garlic chicken. About the only thing we weren't thrilled about it was the potstickers. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and it is not in the area I normally I'm at. However you can bet the next time I am nearby I'm coming here for fabulous Chinese food. One of my favorites is moo goo gai pan, and this was one of my favorites I've ever eaten. The chicken was tender and very tasty along with the vegetables rice and the accompanying eggroll and egg drop soup. We got a lunch special it was very reasonably priced, with a large portion and it was served quickly. There are only a few booths and tables in this restaurant but we had no trouble sitting down and being served. My dining partner had sweet-and-sour chicken and also loved his meal. read more

Great staff but they provided paper goods for our utensils :/ The food was okay nothing amazing to go back + the price was very pricey for getting served our order all in paper good. $67.00 of food that no one liked. General Toes and Orange Chicken looked basically the same and there was only the slightest difference in taste side by side. Crab Rangoon says no Crab and they mean not even crab flavor and they were soggy because they were put in the box with no vent so the steam went to work. Special Fried rice - bland. As others have stated, it's unsettling to be served your meal in styrofoam and paper products. Part of the appeal of a meal is presentation, Chen's totally misses the mark. The owner also decided to make the dining room a storage area with boxes of oil, fortune cookies, cases of bottled water, etc. The take outs are busy and must make up the majority of their business as a hodgepodge of tables are pushed together for carry outs. The food was on the better side. The fried rice had discernible pieces of pork. The vegetables in the entrees seem to be fresh and slightly crispy. The food rates an 8.
