Well, after just one visit to Linh's Bistro I can say with full confidence that I will never be returning. We entered to see a sign saying "please wait to be seated", and then waited over 3 minutes for one of the many employees walking by to finally acknowledge us. The older woman (the owner?) at the door who finally sat us was incredibly grumpy and acted irritated with every task she performed during our stay. She threw 2 menus on a table for us and quickly walked away -- the table was beyond wobbly and basically unusable, so we switched over to another table and then patiently waited almost 10 minutes for our waitress. There was another female clearing tables in the loudest, angriest way possible...let's just say the environment in Linh's Bistro is anything but warm and welcoming. The food was incredibly bland and disappointing. We started with 2 fried spring rolls, which were basically just full of shredded meat. They were okay, but were served room temperature with ice cold dipping sauce. We also had some shrimp cakes, which were served with a big bowl of lettuce for some reason and were served with the exact same ice cold sweet sauce that came with the fried rolls. Both appetizers were edible but nothing special. My husband had the Pho Ga (chicken pho). It was only served with a tiny plate of bean sprouts and cilantro, and the soup itself had no flavor at all. It was just a big bowl of chicken broth with slices of plain chicken, a handful of rice noodles and a TON of cilantro thrown in. I was expecting some wild flavors like we enjoy with Thai or Indian cuisine, but this version of Vietnamese Pho was super underwhelming. Basically it just tasted like a big can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup with better quality meat but less flavor. I had the Bun Thi Lui, which was lemongrass pork chunks over vermicelli. The pork tasted amazing, but the vermicelli was cold and had zero flavor and there was way too much cucumber under the noodles which I hated. I expected various sauces to choose from for these flavorless meals, but all we were given were soy sauce and a bottle of store bought hoisin sauce which just didn't work on top of this dish. Overall, Linh's Bistro's employees were way too angry and hateful while dealing with a room full of hungry customers and the food was flavorless and super disappointing, so in my opinion there's no reason for us to ever return again. read more

Our order has been wrong the last two times we carried out you don't realize it's wrong until you get it home and it's too far to go back. The last time there were numerous folks waiting on carry outs and it was very Disorganized. Their phone either goes to a non set up voice-mail or it rings and never gets answered. Typically I try not to write a review based on one visit, but here I am, breakin' the rules. (I'm such a rule breaker!) My guy and I stopped here for lunch early (11am) on a rainy Sunday. He was feeling a bit hung over and was craving noodles. I'm generally game for pho and since moving to Dayton, I haven't found my pho-home yet. Linh's was big and open and very clean. We were seated promptly and jasmine tea was brought to the table immediately. I like to compare apples to apples so I ordered the soft shrimp rolls and the Pho-ga. The shrimp rolls were super fresh and the herbs tasted amazing in them. The Pho-ga arrived and again looked and smelled very fresh. Things of note regarding the pho: 1. It was served with a lemon on the side, not a lime. 2. The side herbs only consisted of cilantro. 3. The broth didn't have the anise / cinnamon Overall a good place to eat. The pho ga is delicious and very filling. I get a side of steamed rice with it and can make it stretch into a 2nd helping. The #45 with thin noodles is another favorite. Not to mention the clay pot is superb! Add some sriracha and your set! The complimentary hot tea is a bonus. read more

My wife and I stopped in here just to try something new. Neither of us had tried Linh's, much less Vietnamese food, but we were very pleased! I ordered the shrimp and pork pho which was flavorful and very fragrant! First time I've ever had pho and I am very pleased it was from here. My wife tried the honey chicken from the Chinese portion of the menu. It is prepared with peas (still in their pods), thinly sliced carrots, and broccoli. It's served with a choice of a rice, choice of a listed side, and choice of a listed soup: white rice, crab rangoons, and wonton soup in this instance. Stupid Mapquest...Stupid Google...had to drive pass this place TWICE just to find it. It's barely noticeable...gotta look HARD else you'll miss it. I took a pic of the store-front just for SA. Ordered the Shaking Beef...if a Vietnamese restaurant doesn't have "Pho" in its name, then you gotta first try the Bo Luc Lac to judge the quality of the joint. $12.95 for a decent portion of beef but I can tell the quality of the meat was low...No USDA PRIME up in dis piece!!!! What else is missing? My freaking dipping sauce! What am I supposed to dip my meats in yo? Decent food at a decent price. Service is 'eh' at best. I didn't feel like they wanted my business nor appreciated me spending my chedda here. Came back tonight for some Pho. Terrible PHO!!! Absolute worst I've ever eaten...period...end...dot. Such a PRETTY place (new, chic, clean, modern....) but though nothing was WRONG here, there were a few things that were not completely "right" either... Mr. M&P and I have a (goofball) tradition of saving our birthdays for a "no questions asked/whatever you say, dear" restaurant choice. While he usually looks for yet another monument to all things "cow and spud," I spend the whole year (sorta/kinda sad...) online here and there, looking for the perfect mix of hole in the wall/exotic/Mr. M&P will give it a shot (and not complain for the next six months...!!) I've been in search of another COSMIC Vietnamese culinary experience since stumbling upon the legendary Siem Riep in Columbus, but sadly, Linh's is not it. I think they might have been at one time, but the move to this new location might have fancied/Americanized them up just a bit too much. Their menu is EXTENSIVE, and I do admit I limited myself before I walked in the door by planning on nothing but a steamy hot bowl of beef Pho, which was fine, not life-changing. We also ordered the Vietnamese veggie soft egg rolls and the butterfly chicken apps., both fine, and Mr. M&P ordered garlic chicken from the Chinese menu. Everything was "fine" or "ok" EXCEPT my Vietnamese ICED coffee, which I ordered as an after-thought to make up for my overly high expectations meal....... HORRORS!!! It was luke-warm and not even REMOTELY similar to the wonderfully strong, murky (not the right adjective, but I'm too traumatized to think of it...) mixes I've had when ordering this in the past. One thing I will say, to balance this review more toward the positive... The service, which MANY people here have complained about, was TOP NOTCH, and the negatives, for what it's worth, are mostly due to my own "over the top" expectations... Fairborn is the home to some VERY interesting Asian choices, and Linh's Bistro, while far from the worst, is not nearly the "BEST" I was hoping for... I was in the area and was looking for some Vietnamese food in the area. Linh's happened to be one of the Vietnamese restaurants close by so I decided to visit here. My first impression of the place is that it's big, but big doesn't always mean better. I was highly disappointed by the services that I received today. The waiter, if that's what you call them was pushy only moments after handing me the menu. This was my first time and I wanted to look over the menu. I didn't like the way they talked to me. It seems very casual like I'm their friend or something. This is a restaurant and I'm the customer. Treat me like a customer and not your casual friend. I ordered #19 (Pho). It tasted ok, but the noodle feels a bit hard and old for some reason. It smells pretty good though. The waiter brought me out a dish of cilantro, jalapenos, and bean sprouts. To be honest, it didn't look very clean to me for some reason. The look in the waiter's eye had me suspecting something.. It was pretty messy because it seems like they just quickly chopped the cilantro and threw it on the dish. The cilantro wasn't even cut into small pieces to eat. I was hesitant to eat the vegetables on the plate as I saw the waiter afterwards lifting his shirt up and scratching his hairy belly. That really grossed me out, especially while doing this inside the restaurant in front of everyone. Once again, this isn't your home. Please keep it sanitary. I also saw the waiter rubbed his eyes, touch his mouth, scratch more body parts. When you ask for something, they basically just throw it there on your table and go back to playing on their phones or scratching themselves. As you can see in the picture, all of the waiter/waitresses are playing on their phone as if no one is around in the restaurant. I am not tipping someone for playing on their phone and not tending to customers. I will never come back to this restaurant again. I guess I'm just spoiled when it comes eating in Pho places. Where it's really worth your money and time. Well, too bad that I can't say the same for this place. Not only the service is bad but the food as well. Waiters are so unfriendly, like I was there to bother them. And the food? Well, my 15 year old niece can cook better and it will taste better. This place, the food had no flavor whatsoever. It was a plane jane broth with parsley and only beansprout for garnish! And they call it Pho! This place is great! Friendly service walking in with a nice, open ambiance in the dining area.. It's freezing right now so the warm complimentary tea when being seated is a PLUS !! :) Multiple pages of vegetarian/vegan options to choose from and reasonably priced. I ordered the vegan pho with tofu and got a heaping amounts of sprouts,cilantro,spicy peppers and limes.. The broth is so good and could easily feed 2 or 3 people! .. Boyfriend got the curry vegetables, also delish! With our meals plus 2 veggie soft rolls, it came to 22 bucks.. DeMarco was our server and he was super cool!! Happy customers!!!! read more

Oh, Linh's, I really like you. A lot. I savor a comforting vermicelli bowl with beef, especially when mixed with crunchy lettuce, bean sprouts, and diced cucumbers. I always enjoy drinking the hot jasmine tea before and after my large meal. The restaurant looks modern; their walls showcase large, contemporary paintings and golden, sunburst mirrors. Large TVs line the ceiling wall. The restaurant is great for small and medium sized groups. My friendly servers worked together to bring out the spicy condiments, hot tea, vinaigrette bowl, and the vermicelli. I love visiting in the late afternoon because they always serve tea! This is hard to review. There were pros and cons. Pros: The restaurant is beautiful. Lovely atmosphere. Glowing and warm. I know some people have a prejudice about restaurants in strip malls. And they're missing out. There are some great places tucked away. The spring rolls were delicious. Really. There was a peanut sauce or something to dip them in that was so good. Very flavorful. Very vegan friendly. I asked. And they have a warning on their menu say to ask if things have nuts, so I assume they're careful of nut allergies, too. The cons Customer service. There was none. We had soup. My boyfriend had the spicy beef kind and I had tofu vegetarian something. He liked his and mine was fine. They give you a bunch of herbs you can be in the soup. I was over zealous and put in a lot of things. Be more careful than me. But, still. It was good. Not insanely but something I could see myself going to as a default all the time. Huge bowls of soup, pretty cheap. But no one would refill our drinks. My boyfriend had spicy soup. He was chugging the hot tea they had served poured over his ice. I didn't have much water left, either. And no one checked on us. Sort of a disappointment. I walked in, knowing I was going to love this place and left feeling kind of crappy. Oh, also, no to-go boxes. I had about half of my soup left and we couldn't get anyone's attention. I was having a contact emergency and didn't want to fight over a soup container, but when a bowl is still full of noodles and broth, it seems like a container is in order... The wonton...meh...there wasn't any filling in it.. no recommended. the egg noodle and soup tasted very good in flavor and presentation. It also came with a spouts plate so please add spouts right after they served. It's been a few years and wasn't as good as my last visit. The hot and sour soup tasted very sweet with no heat or sour taste. The chicken curry was seasoned fine but was more large chunks of strong tasting onion than chicken. There were a handful of what seemed to be frozen peas and carrots. The fried rice was more like steamed brown rice with no additional veggies or flavor than plain rice. Service was average. The hot tea was good. I'll probably give it another visit and try the pho since restaurants are struggling coming out of Covid. Really wish I had more positives to say about this place. read more

So now that I am moving out of the Dayton area I discover this place, WTF! The soups, oh God, the soups!! I really can't comment on anything else simply because I love their Pho. You basically get a small pool, not a bowl, I'm talking "kiddie-size pool where you can wash a newborn" with the most delicious broth and noodles. This comes paired with a plate of cilantro, lime, sprouts and lemongrass just in case you didn't think there is enough flavor. Add a bit of spice from their chili paste and this frigid Winter will run away from your bones. The meat is there for flavor and to add a bit of protein. Try with shrimp, pork, chicken or duck if available. The service is good but it can get quite busy at lunch. The servers are not there to chit chat but they do their job very well and effectively. This is definitely a must visit place if you are in Dayton visiting the Air Force Museum. read more

It's good. This place is located at Page Manor Plaza in Dayton. This is a strip mall. Upon entering, you see yellow walls, large Asian paintings, and a very open seating plan. We were directed to seat ourselves. The service here is super fast. Which is great if your hungry, but the food almost came out too fast. After placing our order, the appetizers came out 5 min later. We barely finished those before the entrees arrived another 5 min later. I ordered a crispy noodle shrimp, chicken, and beef combo. The noodles were my least favorite part. They were greasy and oily. I didn't find them to compliment the dish. I wish I had just gotten fried rice. We also got a appetizer crepe which was fair. The server was friendly, the restaurant was clean. When they do it right it is great. I still recommend it for their noodle soup bowl and the spring rolls and fried rolls. Their noodle bowls , not soup, is really good too. This place is consistently great! We always get the shrimp and pork summer rolls, pork and shrimp clear noodle (glass noodle) Pho. And crab Rangoon. Everything we've had here is excellent. Dining area and restrooms are clean. We've ordered take out here as well (at least 50 times) and I've never had my order messed up or a forgotten item. they also throw in free crab Rangoon if you order $25 or more! Best pho I've ever had. And nice add in portions (bean sprouts, cilantro, etc) I would hate to see this place change or leave because it is a staple for my husband and I! read more

I have been visiting this place for 18 years now. Their pho bo tai is fantastic but I'm giving them 2 stars because of the relatively new owner who is very mean & tight. As soon as new owner came the food sizes went down. With the pho you now get 1/4 lime instead of a half (most times it's a lemon not lime because it's cheaper), little bean sprouts and hardly ever do you get Thai basil. Instead, they give you cilantro! Today I purchased a pho and there were only 3 small, ultra thin pieces of beef in there. im now looking for a new Vietnamese restaurant. Such a shame the owner doesn't understand you lose customers when you try to cut so many corners for sake of more profit. They've lost my family of 6 and 18 of my relatives who always went there read more

Bad service - Drove from Columbus to try Linh's Vietnamese food and we had a horrible experience. Amaya, hostess/bus girl/cashier was very rude and unpleasant and had no customer service skills. First restaurant in the USA that dosn't allow you to choose where to sit. We asked to be seated by the window (there were three empty tables by the window) but Amaya told us that we couldn't and asked why and she rudely stated that they saved those tables for groups of four when in fact she seated us two in a table for 4 just like most of the tables in the place. Amaya was so rude that I lost my appetite and couldn't eat anything and my partner thought the Vietnamese rolls he had were tasty but not his main dish. Very disappointing experience and I am hoping that management address Amaya's rudeness and other people don't have such a poor experience at Linh's Bistro. Definitely never coming back! read more

This was the second time I've eaten their delicious food. We ordered Pho Chicken & Beef the first time To-Go. Tonight we decided to dine-in. Our server was friendly & provided great customer service. I ordered Lemon Chicken w/Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup & Egg Rolls. Everything was hot and flavorful. The portion sizes was plenty for the affordable prices. I have leftovers for a couple of days. My partner ordered the Spicy Beef Soup. He had beads of sweat, so it had a nice kick of spices. I will definitely returned to try their great menu. read more

I ordered vietnamese coffee (which tasted like generic chocolate milk) I also ordered lemongrass beef (this tasted like bland chinese mongolian beef) definitely not vietnamese cuisine. My wife ordered sweet and sour chicken and shrimp which was decent, so choose your food wisely I guess. This restaurant seem more like chinese restaurant than a vietnamese rest.
