    Spicy Mala XLB (7 pcs)
    Lily P.

Solid xiao long bao (Chinese soup dumplings). I came for a visit with a friend and shared 1 serving of spicy mala XLB and 2 servings of regular pork XLB, and they were all good. The restaurant is tucked in a small plaza with lots of parking available. At the time we visited, there were plenty of available seats, so any walk-ins would be easy to accommodate. There is also a clean restroom available for customers.

Delicious food that reminds me of my Taiwanese mother's cooking- especially the beef noodle soup- the baos have pickled veg and a drizzle of hoisin for sweetness. Ambiance is super casual and comfy and service is fast and friendly!

This was our first dumpling restaurant and we sampled way more than our stomachs could hold. The soup dumplings were quite interesting. We never knew soup could be in a dumpling. We loved the spicy dumplings and chicken dumplings. We will come again. Thank you!

Beijing Duck Bao - A bit heavy on the hoisin sauce but still a great balance of flavors and textures

What a solid experience and this only warrants another trip in the near future. I saw beef noodle soup which is usually my default but I saw a ton of dumplings so I gravitated towards a pork dumpling instead and the Beijing Duck Bao. Both dishes reminded me of the night markets in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The flavors certainly danced on my tastebuds and I heard angels warming up to sing. I keep telling myself I need to return. Service is far better than many Asian establishments and the small cafe/deli vibe with music is very much appreciated. Will be returning soon to see what the beef noodle soup offers. What a treat! I'll be back!

Great atmosphere and service. The staff is very kind, helpful, and patient. Unfortunately, the food is good but nothing more. The ramen is alright. It's a nice cozy and warm meal on a cold day, but it lacks in some flavor. As dumplings fans, my family came in here with high expectations, but the dumplings were very similar to the ramen in quality: once again, not bad at all, but nothing to write home about.

Casual counter service dumpling place. This is my favorite spot for traditional dumplings. Come here for the freshly steamed, delicious xiao long bao and dumplings! Love that the shiu mai have a whole shrimp on top. They also have other Chinese appetizers and dishes.

Was craving for some soup and XLB on our way to the airport to catch our flight and happened to bump into this mom and pop dumpling house. And I'm thankful we did coz this was as delicious as some of the best dumpling places we've been to. 1. Pork XLB - 7 pcs for about $11. Loved the simplicity of its flavor plus good amount of broth and fat from it. 2. Beef braised noodle - felt so homey delicious. The herbs esp five spice was not overpowering. It was so delicious esp on a 18 degree weather. And my goodness, there was lots of tender braised beef they put in so you will be fully filled and satisfied. 3. Spicy pork and shrimp dumplings - very good and loved the sesame flavor. Very yummy! 4. Pork belly bao - 2 HUGE pcs per order. It was also a knockout! Good belly portions and it was melt in your mouth. Loved the addition of pickled carrots, jicama and cilantro. Well balanced flavor! So glad to bump into this place and hopefully when I'm back here in Denver, I can come and visit again and try their other offerings.

This is a new dumpling spot in the Denver area that specializes in soup dumplings. It's located in a plaza with fitness equipment so you might miss the location. It is small but there's plenty of seating. It's clean and bright and feels very open. The staff is super friendly. There's a self serving water station. It's a small menu so less decisions. The soup dumplings and the duck bao bun were my favorites. The soup dumpling was very tasty and when you bite into it, soup does come out. The shrimp dumpling is their version of a hao gao from dimsum and it was surprisingly tasty. The dumpling skin was in tact. The chicken dumplings were just okay so I would personally pass on them.

Nice clean restaurant, right next to DQ. I believe this used to be a Chinese restaurant but no resemblances of the past. The owner greeted us and set us at the table with the menu. Since it was the first time, I didn't know what the process was. There was a big sign at the counter that says "order here" so I just walked up and she took the order. Menu wise, a lot of the dishes had pork in it which we couldn't have. Ended up ordering Spicy Chicken Wontons, which was too spicy to the point I was coughing uncontrollably for a few minutes. This dish reminded me of chicken meatball wrapped with wonton skin. Quite dry and maybe the reason why there were so many dishes with pork in it. The Crystal Shrimp was as expected but smaller than Har Gow from the Star Kitchen. I'm assuming all of the dumplings are made fresh in the back room behind the noren. Next visit, I will definitely try South Style Garden Delight and Chicken Wonton Soup, something less spicy.

Wanted a warming snack for dinner last night. So decided to try this gem on my hit list. This place is a true hole In the wall serving some deliciously good food! Everything here was 10/10 Service was quick and joyful. We got the wonton dish that came out first. It was phenomenal, the broth was full flavored with a spice to it that had me licking the bowl. Then the soup dumplings and chicken dumplings. Soup dumplings were some of the best I've had in town. Dynamic flavor that reminded me of the soup dumplings in LA. The chicken dumplings were spectacular as well. Probably the most protein in a dumpling I've had here as well. Composition of the dumplings were perfect along with the texture. Next time trying their noodles and other dishes. Must try!!

This place was awesome. I got the shrimp chive dumpling and then the chicken one. The shrimp chive was my favorite it had great flavors. The chicken was good but was mild in flavor. Can't wait to go back and try more

The thought of some delicious sides that would nicely accompany the steamed rice I had at home sounded good to me so I wasted no time to stop here yesterday afternoon and got me my favorite, South Style Garden Delight. I also wanted to try something new so I got Five Spice Beef Shank to go along with it. This place is always clean. Like he last time, it was spotless. Service was good as well. The lady who took my order and some other lady who handed me my to-go order were pleasant to me. They both had nice smile on their faces. At home, I started to savor my food in the early evening. Garden Delight was, as usual, so delicious; this never disappoints me. And the new discovery, Beef Shank is now my favorite. It's got some kick in it but the spiciness is easily handled. The cilantro sprinkled over the beef simply did the magic to enhance it. This is a well-seasoned dish to say the most least. I have to try their noodles next time. I feel like I keep saying that (lol) but will do it next time for sure!

There's no performance here, no hospitality theater, no one asking how the first few bites are treating you. You walk up to the counter, you order, you take a number, you sit down. The food does the talking. And the food has a lot to say. I went on a bright Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and ordered the classic breakfast, swapping bacon for pastrami (a first for me) with an everything biscuit on the side (also a first). Both were revelations. The eggs over-hard might be the best version of that order I've ever gotten from a restaurant -- just a whisper of uncooked yolk in the center, perfectly seared on both sides. Skillet potatoes were spot-on. The skillet pastrami was rich and properly crisped at the edges. And the two generous slices of sourdough arrived with a scratch-made blueberry jam that I ended up smearing on everything I could -- sourdough, biscuit, probably would've eaten it with a spoon if no one was looking. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which clearly belongs in the staples category. The baguette was the star: toasted outside, pillow-soft inside, zero tug-of-war with your teeth. That detail alone tells you the kitchen cares. This is the Ron Swanson part: there's an unapologetic confidence to this place. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not trying to oversell it, and they're not interested in charming you into liking it. They're just going to hand you something excellent and trust you to figure out the rest. The coffee was good. The food was setting-a-benchmark good. A real 5 out of 5 stars, no pickin nits. Mild observation, not a complaint: the service is counter-only, no traditional table service. Would Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon dropping plates off elevate the experience? Sure. But Ron wouldn't have it any other way, and honestly, neither would I after eating here. If I lived within 45 minutes of downtown Denver, this would be my destination breakfast. As it is, I'm a 12 hour drive away, and if it were only 11, perhaps I'd go tomorrow. The real downside? The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture.

Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood. There's a good selection of baked goods and pastries, a wide selection of coffee drinks, a cooler with an interesting variety of sodas and healthy drinks, plus cocktails, wine, and beer. There are some breakfast plates, salads, soup, and sandwiches. There were a number of discrepancies between the Web site and the current offerings. That's always disappointing and leads me to think management is not on top of operations. A number of basic items were also unavailable. My girlfriend tried the Curry Bird which is curried chicken and turkey salad with sultanas, celery, red onion, and lettuce on a house-made croissant. She loved it and ate up every bite. I did not fare so well with my Woody Wood: house-roasted turkey, bacon, smashed avocado, tomato, lettuce, swiss cheese, cranberry relish, and tarragon aioli on ciabatta. That certainly sounds delicious. It was not. I don't like sandwiches that are served on totally dry bread and that was this. Not a hint of cranberry relish or tarragon aioli, much less butter, mayo, mustard, oil or anything else. The ciabatta was delicious, but dry as the Sahara. The staff was able to provide some mayo packets and that helped a bit. The turkey was dry and tasteless. House-roasted? Maybe by Hormel or Sysco. I needed a magnifying glass to find the bacon. "Smashed Avocado" is not the same as unseasoned guacamole that has been sitting out for far too long. To top it off, an unripe tomato and some sort of cheese that was certainly not Emmental. A very basic, ordinary supermarket sandwich, despite the good bread. Not what I expected. This is not the Olive & Finch I remember. Management has really dropped the ball.
