I love Lindy's. I really do. It's everything I want in a restaurant...great service, great food, great atmosphere, at great prices. Seriously. This place has it all. My husband and I came in for dinner last week and it was every bit as amazing as I had experienced before. Lindy's is a go-to for my friends and I on 4th avenue. The waitstaff is super friendly and accommodating. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and had drinks very quickly. My husband ordered a soda, I had one of their amazing "Ice Waters" - which is a tasty alcoholic drink that tastes sinfully non-alcoholic. Yum. And only $4? Holy crap, I had two. The decor is garage, industrial, hipster etc. It's cute, very laid back. My husband ordered a double Lindy, and I ordered the burger of the month "Rebel Yell" which had a burger with mushroom gravy and fried green beans atop a homemade biscuit. The waitress told me that the biscuits get brought in every morning freshly made. Awesome. We also ordered side orders of loaded tater tots and onion rings. Both came out pretty quickly and were positively delicious. I was pleasantly surprised how big the sides were. One side was big enough to share between the two of us. And OMG delicious. The burgers arrived and were mouth-wateringly amazing. I'm not exaggerating. Delicious. I couldn't eat it all...yay for tomorrow's breakfast! The check came when it should have (usually my biggest pet peeve with waitstaff). And we paid, and left happy, and with full bellies. I love Lindy's because it is what it is. Let me start off by saying I don't eat burgers. My veggie burger was delicious. My boyfriend rated his burger (he got the famous one in between two grilled cheeses) a 3/5.... He said he would have rather had in and out. And..... People were in here doing their burger challenge, which was gross, seeing them eat like 10 quarter pounders. And the wait was very long. I was drawn in because of the sign outside that said "Best Burger on the Avenue." After trying their BBQ burger I was not impressed; it was very greasy and I felt sick afterwards. After having seen the preposterous burgers on Man Vs Food, I needed to see this for myself. I had the Blue Baller and my gf had the Dirty Sanchez. Regrettably, I had to explain to her what that meant on urban dictionary, along with rusty trombone etc. Still worth it! And we shared a BASKET of tots and beer battered rings which were divine. Stopped while in Tuscon for the afternoon and considered relocating after I fell in love with the Kush burger. It is a tiny place with great service and amazing burgers that are bigger than you are expecting. The fries and onion rings are no slouch either (yes, I tried both). Whatever you do though, do not look up the names of the burgers on urban dictionary. Just don't. OK, I probably should have known better than to order a burger with sauerkraut (the Killer Dana Special) so I can't really hold that against them. The bacon-ranch tots, however, were an entirely different matter, Absolutely fantastic. Add in the Black IPA and you've got a pretty good combination. The problem, however, was the ,whenever it suits us' service. When there's only two other table in use, I'd expect to have folks ask me, not me have to work to get their attention. Good food. Bad service. That's the simple way to describe this place. The waitresses aren't very friendly and seem perturbed any time you ask them for anything when they're not actively at your table. Maybe they're understaffed. Either way, it's a pain in the rear to get your food ordered. Don't get me wrong though. The burgers are great. If you can put up with poor service, this place is well worth the wait. Only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because without the help of another patron we wouldn't have known that you need to see a waitress instead of seating ourselves. Pretty disappointed. I like small hole in the wall burger places. Usually they have the best. The wait staff was friendly and efficient . The diner itself was. Ok. The food I didn't like. Confession: I only walked in because I really had to pee. But then my kid and I ate here, and the hamburgers were delicious. A little girl at the next table randomly walked over and started talking to my daughter about the steampunk tea party she and her mom were going to attend that afternoon. The bathroom has a sign mandating that all employees must carve "SLAYER" into their wrists before they leave. What more can I say? This makes me so sad to write but I am hoping that maybe the owner will change their policy. The is one of my all time favorite places to eat. We bring our family here quite a bit. Tonight we were going to dine there we brought my husbands service dog. We were told that we were not allowed to bring our dog. I asked even if she's a service dog. Then we were told OK. We waited 45 mins to be sat outside of the patio among some random smokers sitting in the front of chocolate iguana. We tried to order too hard siders but then were informed that we could not because we were no longer within the restaurant. Then my husband asked why we couldn't sit inside and they told me were not allowed because of our dog and I told her we have a service dog. We have been excepted in allowed inside so many other restaurants in Tucson she is very well behaved and has no issues. I understand if the right of the owner to make the decisions but my husband is Vet and she is his service dog and it's kind of a slap in the face when he served his country and we can't even go eat in one of our favorite restaurants any longer. We were then informed by our waitress that the patio in the back was being worked on so that way you could allow for service animals and smokers I don't want to take my husbands Service dog outside with cigarette smokers it's not fair to her health nor our health she is assisting my husband and I don't understand why you will not accommodate us on the patio where we are out of the way and we don't have to sit with cigarette smokers. read more

Really good place to hit up after bar hopping all night! Had the Heckle + Jeckle burger, really good mixture of hot jalapeños and cream cheese. I was saddened on my last visit to find that Lindy's had taken out their tap lines. Only bottled beer now, my friends. The selection is not terrible. There were several varieties of New Belgium, but nothing beats a draft beer and a burger. *Sigh* I tried the Blue Velvet this time. A bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter on top. The flavor was fantastic, but the peanut butter was so dry and of course, stuck to the roof of my mouth. To be expected, I suppose. Though maybe there is some other way... the addition of mustard? ketchup? It needs moisture to combat the stickiness of the peanut butter. I will think on this. read more

The OG burger (standard cheeseburger) was definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had. We also had the Rusty Trombone (chili, cheese, onion rings) and the Mac n Cheese (Kraft Mac n Cheese on a burger). The Mac n cheese was realllly good especially if you like ... mac n cheese (duh!). The Rusty Trombone was overflowing with chili after the first bite. They build a two onion ring tower and fill it with chili so it kind of explodes when you take the first bite. Love the names. The wife and I sat at the bar and Lindy took our order and answered my dorky man vs food questions. Even though he looks like a Hooligan he seemed real soft spoken and super helpful. I was kind of expecting a eff you attitude out of the staff but even the cooks in the back refilled my drinks when they passed by. Really nice guys. One star deduction because it's too crowded. On a weekday at 3pm we waited about 45 minutes for a spot for two at the bar. And, it wouldn't be too bad if the neighborhood didn't open you up to panhandling and shady looking sidewalk characters. This burger joint is worth its stardom, but it's hard for me to give a five star rating when I've had better burgers. Opa, the greek restaurant on Campbell, makes a kick-ass burger with feta cheese that they set fire to before serving it on a bun. Of course, you can't top a flame grilled bison burger, but those aren't cheap and easy to come by. In that vicinity, you have diablo burger, which is highly overrated and way too pricey for what they deliver. A burger from any place in the area of congress, 4th and university won't compare against a burger from lindys. Like I said, I've had better burgers, but where else are you gonna get a two patty burger called a dirty sanchez? One time, after bar time, I tried the burger that has peanut butter spread on it. I know, it sounds like blasphemy, but I was drunk and something greasy would increase my chances at walking along the blood thirsty TPD officers looking for guys like me, tattooed Mexicans under the influence. I walked into Lindy's with high expectations...and my mind was still blown by how amazing this burger joint is. First off, the wait staff is amazing and on the ball. The atmosphere is just what you would expect from a hole in the wall burger joint. This place is literally littered with humorous references in the form of signs, stickers, and even the menu. Now for the good part of the review...the food! I ordered the Velvet Hammer (Burger with cheddar, tomato, lettuce, onion, fried egg, and Lindy's Special Sauce.) It is going to be very hard to put into words what this burger was like. It wasn't just food, it was an experience. With that first bite all of my troubles disappeared. It was like nothing in the universe existed except me and this burger. And to add to this magical tastebud adventure, I ordered my fries loaded (cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, and chives). The fries were honestly some of the best I have ever tasted as well. I don't think I will ever enjoy another burger ever again unless it is at Lindy's. The food was fantastic. The wait was very acceptable. Everything fell short on the service. One burger came undercooked. Usually not a problem, but it was for my child. Secondly, my drink disappeared half way through my meal. I went to refresh after a particularly spicy bite, and my drink was gone! To be clear, I had only finished half of my drink. We enjoyed the wings, tater tots and pickle fries. Service wasn't great, soooo slow, and our food came out staggered so one of us was done eating while the other 2 of us were just getting started, and 1 of us was still waiting. We hoped it would be worth the wait, but no. The burgers were nothing special (patties are too dense, would be better tasting if hand formed and not pressed so thin) and they were burnt, not char-grilled, but burnt. Also the burgers are $8.50 for the bare minimum burger up to $15 for a special one without a side. Too expensive for the quality. Lesson learned. read more

TANQUE VERDE STORE ONLY. (4th is great) Our family decided to give the new local spot a try, and after waiting for 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered, we waited another 15 minutes to get our orders in....considering it is a new location-far away; I was able to handle that waiting...but after our orders , we did not see or hear from our waitress for exactly 1.5 hours. So we decided to leave , upon leaving the host exclaimed "how was your food ?", and we replied "not sure, we waited for near 2 hours for it and no one even came to check in on us or at the LEAST, just say maybe sorry for the wait, how about a re fill? Nope. I had to walk to the bar and have every family members drinks refilled there, manually , by myself. Tried it Again today, waited for 45 minutes to get our food. There was an abundance of staff , but no actual leadership. It seemed like it was being run by the local senior class' at Sabino canyon. I really have high hopes for them and want nothing more than to have them become a staple in the mt.lemmon area for generations to come. With some leadership and discipline, that shouldn't be remotely challenging, considering how Awesome the food is!!!!! read more

After hearing all the hub bub about how great their burgers are...I finally tried Lindy's for lunch.... I dont see what the big deal was. The burger was tasty, but the meat was almost non-existant...all you tasted was the toppings. Decor - You typical 4th Ave hole in the war...and tiny. 5 tables and 10-15 bar seats. Menu - Honestly I laughed my ass off with the names of the burgers. I bet the older people at the other tables had no idea what a Dirty Sanchez, Donkey Punch or Velvet Hammer is. I guess you can really have a burger name like "Recently shit covered finger, rubbed across lips" Burger Food - Like said before...tasty toppings...tiny meat patty that you barely taste. So..is it the best burger in Tucson??? Not a chance...but I'll return for the tasty toppings. read more

This is the place features on Man Vs. Food....with the OMFG Burger. I tried this challenge on my 33rd birthday...& FAILED! It's tough to do. You're eyes are definitely bigger then your stomach at first. I got about half eaten. As for the food...it's pretty good. It's a small place so go on a busy night, you'll be waiting for a few. I don't eat meat, so this review may not be helpful for everyone. But stay with me. Lindy's has an unbelievable selection of topping choices. Fried eggs, all sorts of hot peppers, lots of cheeses, meat galore, pineapple and even ginger and wasabi aioli. Their tots are decent, though I'm not a huge fan of their fries. Plus beer beer beer. At night it can get pretty busy and loud, particularly with the drunk crowd. You can sit outside, though too, which is great. They've even got one of those eat-this-giant-f'ing-burger-in-a-short-period-of-time-and-we'll-put-your-picture-on-our-wall deals. Check out the Man Vs. Food episode. For the record, I've heard the meat burgers are awesome. The Bocca Burgers are better than any others I've had. Which doesn't make sense. Because they're just Bocca Burgers. read more

I was super disappointed by Lindy's. This was on our to do list for our trip to Tucson. Of course we have seen it on TV so figured it should be good. The restaurant is very small and we were lucky when we got a table right away. They had a good list of burgers and some fun looking drinks. The drink I ordered was some punch something or other and it was WAY too sweet, like drinking kool aid with too much sugar. The burgers came out and they were TINY!!!! Tiny, Tiny, Tiny. So, I could agree with most everything that has been posted. This is a typical Diner on 4th Ave. It's small.. A bar and about 5 tables inside and a couple outside. My friend and I ate there last night and got there right before it got busy. We sat down and our waiter came over right away and took our drink order. We each had the The Dirty Sanchez which had green chilies, jalapenos, and pepper jack cheese and split an order of cheese fries. The burger was cooked just as I had asked and was really good. It had just the right amount of spice I was looking for. The fries were good too. Surprisingly not soggy (as far as that can be helped when covered in cheese...) Overall, good service, good burgers, and a decent price. Will definitely go back. read more
