I was honestly considering writing a review that said, "I refuse to eat a burger anywhere else", and leaving it at that. This place is that good! Let me start off by saying that you don't go to Lindy's and order a regular burger with a patty, lettuce and tomatoes. If that's the case, do everyone a favor and go home. You go to Lindy's for a life-changing burger! These burgers are conversation starters. For those of you that are faint of heart, I would start off with the "Heckle + Jeckle". This burger holds true to the Lindy's WOW factor all thanks to the caramelized onion bacon jam, and cream cheese. However, if you're feelin' ballsy, you should try the "Fat Bastard". This burger is stacked with goodness, in between two honey buns. The overall venue is clean and has the coolest, and funkiest decor! The staff are kind and really know their stuff. The average price is $11 per burger, and it's worth every damn penny. If you're new to Tucson, this place has to be on your list! read more

This is one of our favorites stops when we are in Tucson. It was featured on Man vs Food and has some of the tastiest burgers ever. Ok maybe I'm just a Burgerholic and can't resist. Fourth Avenue in Tucson is famous for it's many restaurants, eclectic stores and people. You can easily walk around and have a great time all up and down the street. Getting a Burger and some O'Rings is the perfect fuel for such an adventure and this is a great place to begin. Usually order the Double Donkey Punch and some Onion Rings. This is one of their spiciest burgers and I like to wear a bandana while taking on the challenge. Green Chiles, Jalapenos and a large amount of chopped Habaneros on this bad boy. There is a warning note on the menu stating "This one really kicks you in the ass!" The food here is very good and the atmosphere inside is fun and playful. There are pictures of Adam Richman taking on his giant burger on the wall and several other goofy and interesting art works as well. The menu has several types of burgers with some having crazy toppings like Peanut Butter and Jelly. They also serve a tasty Cheese Steak with either Provolone or the WHIZ. Definitely recommend checking them out and then walking off some of those delicious calories at the nearby shops and stores. We took a good walk afterwards and still felt like we were in a food coma. They used to be at a different location on fourth Street for a really long time as a Tucson go to for all the locals, totally greasy spoon, butter, lots of Grease really tasty hamburgers with lots of great options but if you're looking to do Celia her gluten-free definitely ask to do a protein style and maybe they have upgraded to a gluten-free bun? So Man vs. Food came to Tucson? And the final challenge is a very large burger? Something says I have to try this out... Well, now I have. It's a 12 patty, 3 lb monstrosity - the OMFG! Now that I've finished, however, I have a creeping suspicion Adam Richmond is a fraud. On the show he says eat it in 20 minutes, get it for free - eat it in an hour get your picture on the wall. Adam ate it in 44 minutes and declared victory. I went, ate it in 27 minutes, got my picture on the wall, and declared victory. So what's the problem? There is an absolute limit of 30 minutes on the challenge. As explained by an employee: Eat it in under 20 minutes it's free. $20 if you pass that mark, but you only have until 30 minutes. If you don't have it finished by then you will have the burger taken away from you, no leftovers, nothing. I checked and the menu says the same thing. I came about 3 months after he did, so maybe things have changed, but it sounds a lot to me like Mr. Richmond was bested by the OMFG and failed to say so on national television. Anyways, eating 12 burgers is gross. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Judging the burger on the top bun and first two patties though... it's a damn fine burger. I was meeting a girlfriend for lunch and suggested we go to Lindy's because I'd been there many times in the past and enjoyed it and she had never been to this Tucson landmark restaurant. I really hate to say it and I realize that we should have sent the food back and had it re-cooked, but neither of us did... I had the Kush which had green chilies, blue cheese, bacon, and raspberry preserves- the toppings were nice but I -without exaggeration- I could not tell the difference between the burger patty and the bacon. The patty was so super overcooked that it was chewy and impossible to cut with the plastic knife they gave me. I had to ask for a regular knife, and even with that I didn't finish more than half the burger because it was so well done. My friend only ate half of her burger too and she also agreed that she didn't enjoy it because it was so well done. This is a destination dinning review. I've been waiting years to hit this place up ever since I saw it on DDD. First off the service was good the place is VERY SMALL, but cool; it was also packed for lunch. We started with the Loaded Tater Tot basket (Nacho cheese, sour cream, green onions and bacon bits). Seating is limited but the speed the awesome waitresses have they must be super women in disguise! Only 2 girls working, seating people, taking orders, refills, cleaning tables! They did everything but cook. I was so impressed with how well they can multitask. On to the grub! I ordered the Texas Belt Buckle a single patty, which consisted of the meat, cheddar cheese, bacon, 2 onion rings and BBQ sauce. My boyfriend ordered the Velvet Hammer but as a double. That included 2 patties a fried egg, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion & Lindy's sauce. We both shared an basket of tater tots covered in cheese. I was pleased with my burger presentation and taste. Had to be at U of A to meet my son and needed a late lunch to tide me over until he was done with a paper and we could get dinner. It's family owned and the sign upon entering said they had "killer burgers." I was intrigued. Never have I been so happy, I didn't stop for fast food. The was one of, if not, the best burger I've ever had. The menu has so many creative options, it was difficult to decide what I wanted. I also ordered the loaded fries but didn't have room for them after eating that huge burger. I ate them for dinner and they were delicious, too. This was my first time at Lindy's and sadly, my last. For as much as Lindy's has been raved about, I expected something good but I found nothing. I had an Arnold Palmer and the lemonade was very tart and not enjoyable with my tiny splash of tea. I ordered the Hawaii Five-0. My mistake was ordering my beef patty cooked medium well. SMH. I usually go with medium but the place looked like it wasn't the cleanest so I didn't want to chance going with slightly cooked meat too. The patty was hard and flavorless although, I wish it had soaked up the salt water they used for teriyaki sauce. That might have made a difference instead of making my brioche bun soggy and the slice of Swiss cheese solidify. The French fries(sold separately) were very flavorless. Lindy's on 4th is a small burger joint that serves a variety of zany themed burgers with customizable side options. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My friend ordered the Shroomin Cow burger with a side of chili cheese tots, and I got the Dirty Sanchez burger with a side of onion rings. My burger was a little under seasoned, but the chiles and the jalapeños set a nice underlying spice. The guac, intentionally or not, was fairly tart, but I didn't mind (perhaps there was some lime juice). This burger isn't anything new, even if the name is unique; the flavor shave been proven time and again to work well together. Where Lindy's falls short in my mind with its sides. My onion rings were very obviously purchased frozen rings that were fried up (very cakey batter), and my friends' tots were the same. He also said that the chili was very obviously the common canned chili product. These sides weren't inedible, but I think they prevent them from being something truly great. I was kind of skeptical of going there at first because we were taking our daughters, but decided to anyway. So I ordered the ninja burger and the hubby got the dirty sanchez w/ chicken breast and a basket of loaded fries. My burger was really good. It had pineapple, wasabi aioli, pickled ginger, provolone, lettuce and tomato. I thought it needed more wasabi aioli for my taste. My husbands dirty sanchez was really good as well, and it was packed with roasted hatch chiles, jalapenos, guacamole, & pepper jack. It had a nice kick. The loaded fries were fresh and very crispy. Damn. Been in town 9.5 years and just went yesterday. Won't wait that long next time. Got a Lindy's Ice Water (Vodka, Gin, Citrus Fruit), Melt Burger (Sauerkraut, Cheese, Sauce, Bacon, onions), and Onion Rings. My Onion Rings had a panko bread coating which is not consistent with other photos on here. It appears that the Onion Rings they use change constantly. I don't know why. The "Ice Water" was pretty good... it's served in a pint glass and it honestly had more alcohol than I expected for $5.50. Good overall flavor, mild and slightly alcoholic to accommodate drinking a lot. The burger's the real star of the show obviously, and Lindy's knows what they're doing. It's hard to explain but everything feels "right" about it. It's juicy. You can tell all the other flavors in it. The buns are soft. Highly, highly enjoyable burger experience. Total damages came out to about 20, pre-tip. Just... there's only 8 tables and 33 seats total available. So you might have to wait. I believe in Early 2017 they'll be expanding so hopefully it'll be easier to get in, but it's worth the wait if you have to. read more

When I was cleared to travel to Tucson, I swore to myself that I would pay this place a visit. Within hours of arriving, I found myself here. And as soon as I took my very first bite of their food, I realized that I had made a good call. Seriously. I ordered the single Dirty Sanchez. This was a single patty with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, guac, and other stuff. I also ordered their loaded fries without sour cream. The order came in 5-10 minutes and smelled divine. The burger tasted wonderful as the cheese and jalapenos added to the flavor. It wasn't spicy though. I also liked how they grilled the bun too. The loaded fries were great. The fries were fried golden brown so they were crispy. And the cheese, bacon and chives were a nice addition so it tasted like potato skins. A minor area of improvement, I would like real bacon on the potatos and not bacon bits. The service was good. Everyone seemed really friendly and the burger arrived rather quickly. I like the atmosphere. It is a bit dim but feels like a great hang out spot. They have a flat screen and other decor that adds to the feel. In short: great burger, the fries were good too but I would like real bacon, the price was a bit high (single dirty sanchez, single velvet hammer, loaded fries = $18), The service was friendly, the place itself is small so I guess it can get very crowded on a busy day, I am so glad that I experienced this place for myself and I think you should too if you're in the area. This place is really lives up to the hype. I came across this place, like most people, on an episode of Man vs Food, didn't think too much of it because I don't eat red meat. Somehow my friend convinced me to go to this place bc they "probably had a veggie burger". And they do! So let me start off with this, the food was PHENOMENAL! And our server was a pretty nice to us (nothing exceptional but it was alright). But the experience felt like a hostage negotiation due to the wait times. It felt as though every time we communicated with our server there was a 15-20 minute delay in response which resulted in lots of waiting. I had a similar complaint with Lindys when they moved to their new location close to two years ago and it's seems like nothing has changed which is really unfortunate because I really want to like the place place for the atmosphere and the food, but when it takes close to an hour to get a burger out - and another what seems like 45 minutes to close out your tab it's an experience I don't want to pass on to other people. But hey maybe I'm wrong and there's just a time vortex inside of Lindys. In that case come on down there and enjoy their fried pickles! I've yelped this visit all the way from Cali and glad it did not disappoint. It's located in an old town like atmosphere but the burgers were like no other. I ordered the Donkey Punch and it was filled with delicious favors with a slight kick of heat. Juicy and delicious, a must try for the spicy flavor lovers. The spiciness did not over powers the burger itself. The hubby ordered the Hawaii five-0 and he burger approve it. OMG!! is the first thing that comes to mind when looking at the menu. Not for the faint of heart or heart attacks for sure. But if your not in danger of angieplasty anytime soon then jump on board for a wild burger ride! Going to Lindy's On 4th is all about knowing what the gems on the menu are, and finding your favorite flavors that will have you coming back for more. The restaurant has their "burgers and fries" vibe down, giving off the atmosphere of the stereotypical cool college joint, however it is also a place I feel comfortable bringing my mom or my kid, which is always a winner in my book. They are hands down my number one go-to if I'm craving cheese fries (which is very frequently haha), because they have those really yummy breaded crispy fries that are the best of the best in my opinion, and a killer cheesy sauce. It's also the boyfriend's go-to when he's in the mood for a good-greasy burger. They have a ton of very creative flavor combos (even a mac and cheese burger, like omg), that are sure to please everyone in your party. Located at downtown 4th street, you can't miss it! Been here a couple times and can see why it's such a popular hamburger place. The menu offers some creative burgers with creative names. This place always seem to be busy/crowded every time we come here. But understandably so. Service is decent, and sometimes OK (especially when they're really busy)...you need to really get the staff's attention! Price is very reasonable. My favorites: *Velvet Hammer - It comes with a fried egg (the best part!!), cheddar, lettuce, tomato, union and Lindy's sauce. The sauce is also what makes this burger so delicious and irrisistable! (5/5) *Shroomin' Cow - It's just mushrooms with swiss & cheddar, lettuce, tomato, union, and Liindy's sauce. Yes...I was "shroomin" and loving this! Another favorite. Okay, we'd heard the hype and even being from Idaho, my husband REALLY wanted to eat at here! So after hot day touristing around we made it to Lindy's.. (Missed it several times since it's behind a tree!) Husband had the Double Two-Finger Peekaboo..yes burgers between two grilled cheese sammiches. (Unless you ask, burgers are cooked med-well!) quite impressive to see! I had the Kush (thick schmear of raspberry jam, blue cheese crumbles, bacon & blanketed with a green chili) DELISH! The menu was fun and I wanted all the burgers...but of course I could only have one (or so my Boyfriend said...pffffftt). So I chose the Fat Bastard! My second choice would have been the Texas Belt Buckle (which my Bf ordered and all I can say is BOMB!!! Sooooo delicious). Okay, so I place my order and the waitress says "sooo about this burger, it doesn't come with a regular bun...it comes sandwiched in Honey Buns, is that okay?"...and my jaw drops. I didn't think they meant HONEY BUNS. Of course I go for a veteran burger on my first visit. FAT BASTARD --I stuck to my guns and I'm glad I did. I went for the single patty because the thought of eating 2/3lbs of meat was a but scary on top of chowing two HONEY BUNS! The combination of salty, meaty and sweet was amazing. What really sealed the deal was the fried egg. You could really taste every topping and the flavors mingled so well. On the side, we ordered Chili Cheese Tots. I love tots! I love them even better with cheese and chili and ketchup! On top of polishing off the burgers, we wiped that basket clean! This place is OK as far as burger joints go, but it really didn't live up to the hype. For a place this popular, with a 30-minute wait when we got here, I have some expectations. I got a Blue Baller (lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, bleu cheese, Lindy's sauce). Let me deconstruct this burger for you. The bun had a nice taste and texture - it was soft but toasted (good choice). The Lindy's sauce is basically thousand island dressing. The bleu cheese was solid and the bacon was crispy. So why only three stars? The burger itself was not great. It was overly salty and lacked flavor. My wife had a veggie burger, but it was obviously from a package. For the price, and the wait, this place just wasn't worth it. read more

This review is based on my last few visits. While I enjoy the creative combinations that make Lindys burgers so special I honestly only stick to 2-3 favorites. The fries kind of fall flat, lacks seasoning. But I will tell you this, if you leave here still hungry you might need to go see your doctor. This last time I came was a little disappointing. Came after Tucson Meet yourself with my god sister who had never been, so I had talked it up and after all the walking wanted to sit, eat and talk. Well she has a very bad food allergy which she disclosed to the server but get burger still came out with what she requested not be included. Not sure if the disconnect was with the server or kitchen but luckily she checked before taking a bite. Lindys has been a go to for me since they've opened but lately has been slacking in a few areas. Im not ready to completely write the off but will be going less. 1 Star-   Total failure of an experience based on this experience would not return. Would not recommend. 2 Star-  Below average on several levels, not a total failure. Wouldn't seek out to return or recommend. 3 Star-  Average experience, minimum expectations met. Nothing that says wow or that stands out. Went to see what all the fuss was about after seeing this burger joint featured on Man Vs. Food. Honestly, I've had a better Burger at Chili's. The burger was ok at best. The Lindy's special sauce is too sweet for my taste. I must agree with most reviewers here that the basket of tots is worth going back. I'll give this a second chance and try something other than the original burger. Highlight of my trip to Lindy's was watching a guy taking the OMG Challenge and eating the last bite in 14 minutes.
