Food was delicioso! Place was in a sketchy area but safe during the day for lunch! I went with three enchiladas verde with beef and had plantanos with cheese extra. Everything was delicious! First time having plantains with cheese and it was a great combo! Could use more plantains for the prices though!

    Mole and tamales

Do it! Place your order and eat here!! So damn good!!! And I'm picky when it comes to mole!! And tamales are on point!! Yup just order!

Customer service is amazing, but in my opinion the food is extremely over priced and lacked flavor. I will also admit I did not order what I came to order because I didn't realize the enchiladas didn't have anything inside so I couldn't get chicken or steak inside. They also mentioned they only had pork so I decided to avoid the sopes. If I had to do it again I would have ordered the sopes or tacos. I would have given a 3 or 2 star based on the food I had, but I looked around and the place is very clean and I enjoyed myself watching the nba finals. The server was nice and even covered my change and gave us free sour cream. Which tasted more like a home made light whipped mayo. The bathrooms where clean and overall the whole place was very clean. I would give it another chance one day to try something else simply for the fact that I enjoyed myself.

Slow service but the food was delicious. My husband ordered the taco plate and I got the tostadas plate.

I've been here several times, food is good but my review is based on customer service today. It was horrible. I entered and not greeted, no one checked on me, I asked for coffee twice and wasn't given coffee till 10 mins after. I could see employees just in the back talking away with no care in the world that I was there or taking care of the store.

What a wonderful discovery! Authentic taste and great service! Feeling of local small business!

Antojitos. The perfect way to try some of everything...because everything is delicious!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you had a Mexican grandmother and you would go over to her house and she would feed you delicious things until you would pass out in a small pool of happy tears? Wonder no more and give this place a try. If you have a Mexican grandmother, by all means go visit her, but come here if she's not available. Here you will find Oaxacan style Mexican comfort food so good you might consider quitting your job and becoming a professional customer. The Antojitos plate is a great way to go if you want to try a variety of options. Sure it's an "appetizer" plate, but how else will you be able to taste the empanadas, gorditas, guarachas and tostadas on one plate? You can customize each individual item for which kind of meat ( or beans, or cheese) you'd like. Better yet, give up the headache of making a choice and just let your friendly employee choose what they think is best. It's a safe bet they will be right. Service is friendly. It's tiny and super casual. A perfect sort of place that feels like you are somehow both local and far away. If they bring you a fork with your antojitos, make sure you don't use it. This is handheld food at it's finest. Silverware is for cowards and royalty.

The food was immaculate, a solid a la mexicana, but the soles/picadas are were it's at! I want to come back and try their asada/bistec al pastor I didn't get any that time because their menu overwhelmed me with how good everything looked, Service & ambiance of the place were calming, relaxing

Real Mexican food, served by real (spanish speaking) mexicans! Do not come here for Tex-Mex; no chips & salsa at Limon's. What they do have, is outstanding authentic mexican food at fair prices! Order at the counter; if you don't speak Spanish - just order by the numbers on the wall. Big photos adorn the wall-menu, so it is easy for gringoes to select winners! Drink choices are limited to whatever is sitting in the upright cooler; I enjoyed my cold orange Fanta! The black bean soup is thin enough to drink, but tasty enough that you'll want more. Great Tostadas and Empanadas were enjoyed at our table. Adequate seating for the small lunch crowd. What they lack in decor, they make up in food quality. Before we left, the owner came over to make sure we enjoyed our food. He also offered menu tips and invited us to return. A big tip of the sombrero for hospitality!

I had been dying to try this place for like 8 months, and recently I finally got the chance to stop by their West Dallas location. I first want to say this is not a Tex-Mex restaurant nor is it your typical authentic Mexican food restaurant or taco spot. Limon's specializes in AUTHENTIC street food from Veracruz. The 2nd thing I want to say is it's going to take me multiple trips and multiple posts to truly showcase this place. It's that good. Literally almost every single thing on their menu is post worthy, and I truly mean that. It might be my new favorite Mexican spot. If you can't take my word for it, Dallas Observer named them one of the 100 must try restaurants of 2020 and one of the top 50 restaurants. Their empanadas are rated #1 on Yelp Dallas! This trip, we kept it pretty simple just so we could get a decent sample. I got the Combinado Jarocho which came with 2 empanadas (we recommend chicken), an egg with salsa verde, picadas jarochas, and refried black beans. I also had to try their Tamales Veracruzanos, which came beautifully wrapped in a banana leaf. Trixie got the Gorditas Veracruzanos with chicken. It was stuffed in what looked like a puffed and deep fried corn tortilla topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese and sour cream. They also kindly sent out a couple of tacos out for us to try. The al pastor was excellent, but that conchita pibil was the winner for me.

Food is authentic, chilaquiles verdes are delicious!. Spicy Service is really fast and staff are great. The only cons is that this place needs more cleaning, floors were sticky.

    Gabriela G.

Looking for something to eat this place is simple and clean, food was good and the salsa was spicy. Tortillas are handmade and they have a lot of variety on the menu. We got a chicken tamale as an appetizer and it was delicious and full of meat. The fried plantains were crispy and yummy. The chilaquiles were crispy and the meat was really good. They also have family movies playing to enjoy your meal.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.

My husband and I started off by splitting the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket which were good but I wouldn't order again. It just didn't seem to be anything over the top special so I would rather order something else as an app. My husband ordered the fried chicken and I got the Crispy Chicken Katsu. Both were delicious and I would definitely recommend trying both! The Katsu came with a spicy mayo that made the sandwich perfect! The deviled eggs, dragon…read moreroll, and pigs in a blanket were all tasty, and that's honestly the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

WILL NEVER BE BACK!…read more HATED. EVERY. MOMENT. OF. THIS. PISS. POOR. EXPERIENCE. EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. VALET. NOT. FREE. I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. My eyes teared up, my nose started running, and I couldn't taste anything after a couple bites of the spice. I was so f*****g over this place I just ate my boyfriend's mashed potatoes and we left. If I had it my way, I wouldn't have paid for a thing here. They don't deserve our money and I HATE they got a cent from me. I'm livid. I hate this place W I L L N E V E R B E B A C K

We let our server know that upfront, and while we were seated in the dining room without issue, the experience quickly went downhill. From the moment we mentioned happy hour, the tone shifted. The server spoke down to us for the remainder of the visit. As an interracial couple, it was especially uncomfortable that when discussing happy hour and pricing, he directed everything toward me (the Black partner), but when it came time to pay, the check was brought to my partner. That inconsistency didn't go unnoticed and felt like profiling...plain and simple. Service timing was also rough. Our old fashioned took about 20 minutes to arrive, and the food took 45 minutes to an hour...despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Throughout the meal, staff repeatedly tried to clear our plates when we were nowhere near finished, which made the whole experience feel rushed and unwelcome. Food-wise...credit where it's due. The Bolognese was fantastic. The fried chicken sandwich was just okay...no real seasoning or noticeable brine, though the hot honey it was tossed in was great. The old fashioned tasted watered down, even though I know it likely wasn't...just poorly balanced. We both work in the service industry, so we're understanding of small hiccups. But this wasn't that. This was poor service layered with uncomfortable behavior. If happy hour is offered, it shouldn't come with judgment...train your staff accordingly. Unfortunately, this isn't a place we'd return to. Being made to feel profiled and unwelcome on what was supposed to be a celebratory night isn't something we're interested in experiencing again.

For sides, I chose the mac and cheese, cornbread, tallow fries, and Brussels sprouts. This is the kind of meal you remember for a while. The Wagyu tomahawk ribeye was the star of the table. Tender, flavorful, and packed with that rich beefy taste you'd expect from a steak of that caliber. The garlic stuffed filet was incredibly tender and added another layer of flavor, while the New York strip had a great texture and a perfect mesquite grilled finish. The Gulf shrimp were cooked well and added a nice contrast to all the steak. Smoky, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were excellent across the board. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the cornbread was warm and comforting, the tallow fries were crispy and addictive, and the Brussels sprouts provided a nice balance to the feast. The restaurant itself has a true Texas atmosphere with a rustic upscale feel. Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel special. This wasn't just dinner. It felt like a Texas steakhouse experience from start to finish. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I've had in the Dallas area.

I am definitely updating my review after our positive experience last Sunday (6/28/26)…read more Our initial greeting from the hostesses was lackluster, at best. Three females, all in their early twenties, all acting as if they don't want to be there. Same as my last experience. Then, a lovely woman showed us to our table. If I am not mistaken, she used to work at Fish City Grill before they closed. She was so welcoming and sweet! Our server, Kristen (sp?) was STELLAR! I truly hope management is having her train staff, she was excellent. Kind, personable, shared recommendations. Our guests were running late, and she was still attentive and our drinks were never empty. Even though our guests' tardiness was out of our control, she never acted upset about this. Once our friends arrived and the food was delivered to the table, we were all happy. Delicious food. One person ordered ribs, and Kristen even brought over a steamy hot cloth for him to clean his sticky hands- wow! Great service and great food. Hey, perhaps Kristen should train the lazy, unhappy hostesses, as well?
