Never ever have Ii stopped here, and we decided to have dinner today. I just got 3 carne asada tacos. And the Mr had 1 taco de tripa, 2 tacos de pollo. It was actually daam good. The service was nice and welcoming. The food temperature was perfect. Seasoning was all there. Salsa was not too hot or too mild and had a nice flavor. I will have to try the menudo since it looks like they serve it daily, not just weekends.

Nice little place with nice waitresses. You can sit down wherever you like and they will take care of you. The food came out fast and it was excellent. The tacos were fresh, the tortilla were good and the salsa was flavorful. The torta with pastor was also really good. Definitely coming back!

Let me start by saying that if you're looking for a restaurant to hang out for a while with your friends, this is definitely not the place. This place reminded me of the small town restaurants back in Mexico where everything is so silent that the only thing you hear is the music that is playing at the kitchen and the cook singing along. And, to be honest, it was kind of cool. Now, to the important stuff, the food. I tried their carne en su jugo, which they say is their "house special" and their pastor tacos. The carne en su jugo was really, really good. It's a soupy dish that comes with thin-sliced beef, bacon, pinto beans, radish, grilled onions and cilantro and, on the side, corn tortillas to eat it. I know it doesn't sound pretty appetizing but it really is. The pastor tacos were okay. Their seasoning was little mild for me but was definitely better than many other places in the Metroplex. My biggest complaint about the tacos are the salsas that they serve them with. Both the red and the green salsa were really watery and lacked flavor. Furthermore, they weren't spicy at all. As I've mentioned earlier, a good salsa is what makes a good taco, and in this case, they were far from good. So, if you ever happen to eat at this place, I'd encourage you to order the carne en su jugo. You won't regret it.

ESTA CON MADRE! The title seems appropriate, because them Burritos go HAM. Look man, it's going to be greasy, don't be crying like you didn't know it would be. My go to's are the Burrito de Carne Asada, about 5 tacos de Lengua (Cow Tongue) and a bowl of Menudo (because, yknow, menudo). The place is a staple on Jefferson Blvd & is One of the best taco spots in Oak Cliff. Give me a like if & when you've eaten here! * Service: 8, the chicks are quick w/ the orders * Deliciousness: 9 ,stop complaining and EAT! * Visually satisfying: 5 , it's hood, what do you expect? * Cleanliness: 8 *heres a tip: look at their selection of glass bottled Mexican sodas before you order a drink "Keep exploring, the world is our playground!"

"Basic" pretty much describes this place. Street tacos in a building. They don't even have iced tea. Sigh.

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner during the weekend. We'll definitely be coming back again!

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Seasoned deliciously and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. We also ordered Chicharrónes and guac. I'll admit I was very skeptical about The Chicharrónes because they're either cooked right or they're not. They got it down here. Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
