Stopped here on the way to the Sand Dunes…read more Great personable service! We liked every beer in our flight: Dark Matter, Rye'd or Die, Charlie's Brown and the Sunset Sour. For food we had the Pastrami Sandwich ... To.Die.For!!! And the All American Smashburger. We were even more in luck with an Irish Band jam session. Totally recommend this place!

Trying to catch all the local breweries in Salida, CO. Each…read moreis unique in their own. Stopped in to check it out; a Sunday, several people sitting at tables and a few at the bar. It's a fairly large interior and nicely decorated but low keyed; nothing extravagant but nice homey feel. We sat at the bar; the place now started to get really busy. I had the Charlie Brown; Pours a thin head on a light brown body. The aroma is mild grain and molasses. The taste has a mild sweet start with a nutty backend. The texture is thin. It has great flavor. Apparently it was the beer for the day since many patrons were selecting it. My other half ordered Zinga Son; a nice Mexican lager; tastes very similar to a Corona but the taste was much more rich and crisp; with a tad German hops and Mexican yeast. And yes a food truck on site for those that are hungry works and co-exists with the brewery. The menu is simple but effective. We did order a large pretzel with a nice German stone ground mustard. Enjoyed our time there! Also a shout out to Abby who handled the steady flow of customers and an extremely busy Sunday. She did it all with poise and grace! Stop in if you're in the area.

Enjoyed dinner here on a recent Saturday night. We were seated promptly in a busy dining room…read more Took that as a good sign as the place was full. Our waiter took the drink order and discussed the menu. We ordered Philly cheesesteak with a pasta salad along with 4-cheese ravioli and a garden salad. Both meals were excellent. We ate everything! Price was reasonable. Service was excellent. Place was busy but we never felt slow service. Our table was a booth so it offered more privacy and quieter dining. All went well. If we are back in Gunnison we will certainly stop here again. Thanks!

I found Mario's about 20 years ago and put the number in my phone a couple years later for ordering…read moreahead on the way through town. It's still in there. We wanted to take a break on a long drive, so we sat down inside. We got lucky--no line. Our server was quick to greet us and brought cokes in big glasses with crushed ice. Yes. While we waited on food, I looked around and soaked in the vibe. This is a local's place in the purest sense, but has always felt welcoming, no matter where I'm living. Pizza--and buttered spaghetti w meatball for the younger diner--arrived quickly enough and we dug in. Mario's pizza stands out as "normal" pizza with every ingredient and flavor on point. You'll have to drive a long way to find any on par with Mario's pies. They're in my top three Colorado mountain town pizza joints and I've been to my fair share. The meatball from the kids' spaghetti was moist and tasty--good, not great. Five stars for simple excellence, good service, and the 60-70s pizza joint decor.
