This place is great. Very clean, bright, and open kitchen. The server was fantastic! Very personable and friendly. Very knowledgeable and even showed us how we could make some of the dishes at home. He also made sure we didn't over order but ensured we could add more food at anytime. We got the Chicken 65 appetizer, Pad Thai, and Garlic Naan, as well as Mango Lassi. Indian food is my favorite and has been a comfort for me since childhood so I walked in with high hopes and even higher expectations. This place exceeded ALL of those expectations by a long shot. We ordered the samosas, naan, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo -- all of it was extraordinary. The portions are generous and the meat in both curries was perfectly tender and juicy. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly spicy (you can decide how spicy you want your food on a scale from 1 to 5, we chose 3 out of 5 for both curries). Our server, who was also our host and chef (he did it all) was also incredibly kind and attentive. He checked in numerous times to make sure we loved our food and that we had enough water and rice. He even whipped up some fresh poppadoms just for us to try at no charge. It's clear he's incredibly passionate and just wants to see people happy & enjoying his food. A huge shout out to this place for their amazing above and beyond service and delicious food too. We stepped into the restaurant after an extremely tiring day only to pick up some food. While we waited , when our server brought us water , I said no thanks to the iced water as I was feeling a little cold. Our server prompted if we need hot water instead and brought us that. In a while we were also offered complimentary tea. We felt so relaxed in the set up that we sat a while longer and ordered lentil soup and tomato soup which were both different from what we imagined but good nevertheless. Tomato soup was sweet sour in taste. The vegetable biryani we ordered to- go was extremely delicious. Just the right amount of spices and lots of veggies. Portion size was large. Grant that this is based on one experience, but it wasn't great. Perfectly edible. Palak/saag paneer is my go to; I've ordered at literally 100s of Indian restaurants over 40 years all over the world. I was asked spice level and requested mild. This was medium at least, ie I was sweating. So that wasn't appreciated. This dish can be prepared in 1000 ways, from coarse visible spinach with little to no cream to a buttery smooth puree. This was on the soupy, creamy end of the scale. The flavor was decent with a nice spice profile and a little sweeter than usual. The unfortunate aspect were lots of strands of some fiber, maybe from the ginger or spinach stems, I don't know. But it was weird and unpleasant, mainly just to look at. Paneer/cheese can be really soft, which I prefer. This was very firm and chewy, closer to feta texture. Not my fave and unusual. Worst was the rice. It was undercooked! Hard and chewy. When they aren't nailing the rice in an Asian fusion joint, the rest is suspect. Also, this was $20, which even a couple years ago would've needed a Michelin star to justify. I'd rate the food maybe a 2.5 at best but the lone fellow running the place was exceedingly nice and helpful and he deserves a star in his own right. read more

I've eaten here half dozen times and never have been disappointed in the food or service. I wonder every time I'm there during the "dinner rush" and it's not packed full of hungry locals and tourists too! This place is better than sooooo many places in the springs and Denver too! I truly hope these folks survive the valley! I get carry out "dog food" that Tina cooks for my pup! He's spoiled and she cooks him food per his taste and our health concerns. Chicken and veggies...It's reasonable price and a great option when I can't make his daily "cooked meal" at home. I really enjoy the sushi here! There are several very tasty rolls we have tried and the fish is always perfect and fresh. I hope they survive the valley. read more

It is great having Indian food in Buena Vista. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The weight staff were very attentive and eager to please. The food tasted authentic. I had chicken paneer, garlic, naan, fresh excellent tomato soup, above average. The only reason I did not give five stars is that the restaurant was freezing, and we ate in our coats and hats sitting by a vent in the wall with no heat coming out and the tables are metal no tablecloth or anything. It was not welcoming and I noticed other patrons all ate with hats and coats on I think the restaurant would be better served to be inviting in the winter soon as you walk in the door. Welcome to BV! We came here because everything else was full, but we were so pleasantly surprised to find the quality, service and environment to be above and beyond our expectations. I came with a big group of 7 and we had our food come out in a really timely manner. Feel bad for the staff working as it's clear ownership runs this establishment short staffed and is more focused on managing food and labor costs. Walked in at 7:30pm and there were only 3 tables seated. Should have been my 1st indication but wanted to give it a chance. Had to take my food to the front counter to get reheated as my egg rolls were frozen in the center. The Lamb Vindaloo was heavily salted and ice cold. Our server tried her best to stay afloat. This time around, our server brought out one of our meals and we waited an additional 30 minutes for the other meal to come out. We eventually left without receiving our other meal.
