Ewww They had their dog back there licking the ice cream machine. I hope they get checked out or inspected for food quality. Ew first I asked if this sandwich was good, maybe I got a piece of effort to say yes. The fish was frozen and tasted funky had two bites and threw the rest away. 17$ wasted and very dirty I don't recommend

I can only speak to the fries and ice cream, but I can speak very highly of both. The fries are perfectly crispy and seasoned, and the ice cream really hits the spot (even on a cold and windy day). COVID things: the outdoor windows and seating make this place feel very safe and easy.

Oh my!!! Great decision to stop and grab lunch ( passed it and turned around to go back) . The line was a bit long and you have to have a bit of patience but the food is definitely worth it. They serve all sorts of BBQ choice.... Ribs, pulled pork, brisket and all the bbq sides..... mac and cheese, cowboy beans, fries , onion rings. There are also several sandwiches to choose from.... Rueben, steak, poor boy,Philly and more. We ordered a cheddar cheeseburger and added grilled onions and Hatch green Chili's. The burger was juicy, and very flavorful..... grab a lot of extra napkins! Lol... no, really! : p We also ordered the smoked walleye sandwich.WOW was it good! Fresh fish with the perfect smoked flavor and smeared with a great house made sauce. Both the cheeseburger and fish sandwich were served with fries and a drink. The fries are yummy.... Crispy and seasoned. There are also choices of hard ice cream and floats. The perfect stop on your way through town if you don't live up this way! Stop here and eat some great food! Can't wait to come back !!

This place is either really good or excellent when we come back from Vail, they're relatively quick but their quality is amazing. Super hot, tasty, seasoned food, the fries are incredible, chicken strips, Reubens, and burgers are so good and they have soft serve and ice cream too with bathrooms nearby in a separate building. Patio tables outside too if it's not a cold and windy day!

Watch for this as you head onto85 in Salida. That will get you to the hunger shack and a great meal

Amazing burger - service was quick and efficient. Don't think I waited 5 min for food. Has really cool small town vibe with friendly staff.

Amazing... You spend over 20 bucks for mediocre barbecue food... And yet they charge you another $.99 for a refill of ice tea! PASS..,

The Reuben! Yum. I also had the swirl cone. Thank you for enforcing the current mask mandate too.

Stopped here on the way to the Sand Dunes…read more Great personable service! We liked every beer in our flight: Dark Matter, Rye'd or Die, Charlie's Brown and the Sunset Sour. For food we had the Pastrami Sandwich ... To.Die.For!!! And the All American Smashburger. We were even more in luck with an Irish Band jam session. Totally recommend this place!

It's a fairly large interior and nicely decorated but low keyed; nothing extravagant but nice homey feel. We sat at the bar; the place now started to get really busy. I had the Charlie Brown; Pours a thin head on a light brown body. The aroma is mild grain and molasses. The taste has a mild sweet start with a nutty backend. The texture is thin. It has great flavor. Apparently it was the beer for the day since many patrons were selecting it. My other half ordered Zinga Son; a nice Mexican lager; tastes very similar to a Corona but the taste was much more rich and crisp; with a tad German hops and Mexican yeast. And yes a food truck on site for those that are hungry works and co-exists with the brewery. The menu is simple but effective. We did order a large pretzel with a nice German stone ground mustard. Enjoyed our time there! Also a shout out to Abby who handled the steady flow of customers and an extremely busy Sunday. She did it all with poise and grace! Stop in if you're in the area.

Enjoyed dinner here on a recent Saturday night. We were seated promptly in a busy dining room…read more Took that as a good sign as the place was full. Our waiter took the drink order and discussed the menu. We ordered Philly cheesesteak with a pasta salad along with 4-cheese ravioli and a garden salad. Both meals were excellent. We ate everything! Price was reasonable. Service was excellent. Place was busy but we never felt slow service. Our table was a booth so it offered more privacy and quieter dining. All went well. If we are back in Gunnison we will certainly stop here again. Thanks!

We wanted to take a break on a long drive, so we sat down inside. We got lucky--no line. Our server was quick to greet us and brought cokes in big glasses with crushed ice. Yes. While we waited on food, I looked around and soaked in the vibe. This is a local's place in the purest sense, but has always felt welcoming, no matter where I'm living. Pizza--and buttered spaghetti w meatball for the younger diner--arrived quickly enough and we dug in. Mario's pizza stands out as "normal" pizza with every ingredient and flavor on point. You'll have to drive a long way to find any on par with Mario's pies. They're in my top three Colorado mountain town pizza joints and I've been to my fair share. The meatball from the kids' spaghetti was moist and tasty--good, not great. Five stars for simple excellence, good service, and the 60-70s pizza joint decor.
