We have eaten here a couple of times in the past. The town of Salida is a couple hours from where we live and we don't go there a lot. Every time we do go to the 50 Burger though it's good. Very consistent in all aspects of a restaurant; food taste, presentation and speed. The service is good. Although you order at the counter like a fast food place they bring the food out to your table. There is plenty of seating. The restaurant is always clean and inviting. Salida is a small town compared to many places in Colorado. So the competition may not be as much as say if they were in Denver but if they were there they would still shine because they're just that good. The burgers are very tasty, the fries are great, a large fry will feed two people easily. The shakes are really good. Just like in the past they come out with a full glass plus the remainder of shake in the stainless mixing cup. It's well worth the stop if you're in town and hungry. read more

Great burger spot in Salida, it's worth going somewhere outside of downtown. I know I try to eat in the adorable downtown area as much as I can but really enjoyed "branching out" (just 5 min down the road haha). It's counter service and self seating. We ordered the Yardbird (fried chicken sandwich - perfectly crispy, juicy, generous piece of chicken, perfectly buttered toasted bun, decent house made pickles), Big Zach (great char taste on the burger), garlic rosemary fries (STAR of the show, lots of fresh garlic - including full cloves, which were surprising but yummy, perfect amount of rosemary), a root beer float and a banana shake. Highlights: excellent fried chicken, char taste burgers, garlic rosemary fries, fresh and generous shakes (share with a friend!). Will be back during my next long stay in Salida! read more

Stopped here after a snowmobiling excursion! The staff here were all really friendly so that always makes the experience better. Nice spot with plenty of seating inside. They have plenty of burger options and they were very tasty the different burgers we got. I'd definitely stop here again over the other burger joints. Order at the counter and they'll bring you out your food. If you're having an adult beverage, they'll bring that out to you as well. The person behind the counter working the cash register was very nice, patient with our questions, and just had a pleasant demeanor. Ditto for the woman working the bar. I had their sweet potato wedges (great sized portion) and their Uptown chicken reuben sandwich. It was great and the flavors blended nicely. The inside is a bit generic, but that's just the way it is. I'm thinking it's a repurposed McDonalds and they did that well. Folks were friendly and we didn't feel like outsiders. Compared to most all Front Range burgers, 50 Burger offers similar 2025 economy prices, but a massive upgrade in beef quality. Portion sizes dwarf what were expected. I grew up on a beef farm and give their burgers a big thumbs-up. Overall, things tasted more fresh--more real--than most urban spots or up the road in Byoona Vista. Three burgers, a fry, a shake, a coke, and a beer from Gunnison hit the spot for us. Right on target. Any demerits come from the time it takes from ordering to eating, but no importa overall. Salida has scads of dining choices these days. If you're in the mood for a burger, there's better than a 50% chance you'll be stoked here. read more

I'll start by saying that the food here is decent but not what I'd call good. If you order the burger ramen bowl with beef it's literally a burger pattie in the soup which doesn't really go well. The grilled chicken sandwich has what appears to be half of a chicken breast cut so it's thin. The biggest thing here is that though the food is decent it's EXPENSIVE. Good service. We asked for a sample of their peanut butter milk stout and found it to be a very good beer. We got the sauerkraut bites as an appetizer. My companion got a salad with grilled salmon, which she enjoyed. I got a burger that was tasty and satisfying. She also got a boozy milkshake that she enjoyed. We stopped by 50 Burger in Salida while waiting for an oil change, having spotted it on the drive in from Gunnison. It seemed like a good spot to grab lunch with the family. The menu had plenty of tempting options, but I went with the Southwest Burger after hearing it was their special. I paired it with Garlic Parmesan fries, while my wife and son opted for salads, and our two youngest ordered from the kids' menu (a burger and chicken fingers). My Southwest Burger was tasty, though a little messy. The real highlight, however, was the Garlic Parmesan fries - absolutely phenomenal! The portion was huge, easily enough for three people to share. My wife and son weren't thrilled with their salads, but the younger kids devoured their meals. First time here, recommended by my husband. Restaurant opened promptly at 12 noon and we ordered right away. I asked to bring fries out with the burgers because they normally send out fries first and I like them with my burger. Service was very good and several people checked on us. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Burgers were very good and cooked right. I would definitely stop here again for a great lunch! They also had milkshakes which looked good so will have to try next time I am in town. Restaurant was clean. A great burger spot right on hwy 50 in Salida. The restaurant is clean and warm, the food was amazing! It was a little pricey but well worth it. The burgers were delicious, the onion rings were huge, and the fries were perfectly cooked. The food took a while to come out, but perfection takes time. Poor customer service. 35 minute wait for a to go order. I sat watched my order sit on the counter for 20 minutes - when I asked for the order - I was told to be patient. When I pointed to my order- I was told that I am not better than anyone else waiting- mind you, the 9 groups of people who ordered after me got their orders. This place had the worst fries I've ever had. They tasted like wood chips that's how small and very hard they were. I didn't realize this until I was back to my rental. My boyfriend said the same as well. It was highly disappointing. The sandwich I got was good as a partially redeeming aspect. It was grilled chicken with avocado. Aside from it falling apart trying to eat it, it was edible and tasty. I wouldn't be back based on the fries. I know a lot of people love this place, but I hate it. I came here 5 years ago, and wasn't impressed. I came back today to give them another chance. I remembered they were very expensive, so I prepared myself for that, and went in. I ordered a burger, fries, and a soft drink: $25. That's a lot, but it's an expensive mountain town, and a competing burger joint in Buena Vista has similar prices, so whatever!!! Next, I will say that their portions are absolutely absurd. I'm a big dude, and I can eat a lot, but I could not finish all my food. My leftovers went in the trash because leftover burgers and fries are disgusting. My burger was all flashy and no taste. Stacked so high that it was impossible to eat. The fries are too skinny for me. Maybe you like skinny fries, but I don't. The service was friendly and my food was cooked fresh, however, my burger was served on a metal tray, so it was cold. Lastly, I know this is subjective, but the music was absolutely terrible, and the TV was playing a disgusting boxing match.
