Exceptional beer! Enough said, but I'll say more. How lucky are we to have a brewery with such good taste in beer up here in the mountains! I love their Pilsner and IPAs l, which is what I generally go for. This is one of my favorite micro-breweries in the country- up there with Deschuttes, Four Noses, Telluride, Sierra Nevada, and select others. read more

I know it's been years, but no raspberry gulch?! My heart was so broken. We had the lime salt beer, which was good but I didn't love- like a beer-y margarita. My husband had the hazy ipa, which was good but not great. Service was excellent, and obviously it's a really established brewery because it was STACKED on a Friday night, and they had a tent for overflow. We had to sit in the tent, which was a little breezy but worked fine. Overall, I would be guaranteed to go back if they brought back raspberry gulch, but without it, they are still a decent brewery. read more

Large outside patio and friendly staff. Stopped by for a beer and a bite to eat from their permanent food truck. My husband got a delicious burger and I got the falafel. The falafel was a bit difficult to eat and a bit too salty with the feta and olives but was still very good. The beer was delicious. Stopped in for lunch on the advice of a dear friend, and WOW! Had the London porter, Little Mo' and a chicken "cheesesteak" with fries. My only complaint is it was too much food, as I was dining alone! Do yourself two favors: bring a friend, and get the green Chile beer cheese. That cheese sauce is life changing!! The chicken was excellent, the grilled bread and peppers and onions were cooked perfectly and served piping hot. The shoestring fries were cooked crispy and seasoned well, and I can't say enough about that green Chile beer cheese. This is my favorite brewery. It has become hard to find breweries that do much of anything other than IPA, but Elevation has a nice variety. I am a Belgian ale fan and love Apis IV and False Summit, but I go for an Oil Man when I feel adventurous. I have not had a bad meal from the food truck and take advantage of it when I visit at lunchtime. read more

We were driving into Salida from and saw a sign by the highway that said "Elevation Beer Co". I had never heard of them before and we weren't too far so we decided try stop in. The brewery is awesome! They had tons of shaded outdoor seating, and some indoor eating. Huge space and cool vibes! The lady behind the bar was super helpful and let me try some tasters before deciding. I ended up with the passion fruit and prickly pear gose which was too sour for me, and I really like sours, but would definitely go back and try something else. The others liked their IPAS. We enjoyed our dinner and drinks at Elevation Beer Co. Nice, dog-friendly with lots of shade. To drink we had the kolsch and the porter. Really solid beers. To eat we shared Colorado Poutine and two orders of falafel. Everything was delicious. Beertender was very friendly and outgoing. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was that our total was $70, which, in my opinion, is pretty outrageous for dinner for two at a brewery. Will keep drinking their beer, as we like to purchase it from the store, but will likely skip the food next time. read more

I've stopped at Elevation since 2012, less often since my peak bagging days have been fewer in the last four years. While tastes and trends change, Elevation has stayed on my radar simply because their beers are well made--crisp & clean, no telltale signs of brewing blunders. Like anywhere, some styles are better than others. My favorite is the Senorita porter with horchata. Mmm. My last trip came in late October as part of a fall color peeping trip to the southern Sawatch and Bonanza Mine. Since my last visit in 2018, Elevation has added a nice outdoor patio with a covered seating area--and the best addition--a food truck. Looking to try something new, I had a pint of the hazy Hop Kid IPA and it was surprisingly delicious, far better than its online rating. I would buy it if it were canned. While I sipped, my green chile slopper burger was coming together in the food truck. As a former New Mexican, I've noted that the further south one goes in CO, the better the green chile. Elevation's version would be most welcome in Denver, especially at this price. Meat quality was great and I could barely finish the fries. Before hitting the road, I sampled the vanilla version of their barrel aged stout, Oil Man. At 10.8% abv, I don't recommend a pint of this before heading back to Denver, but I do recommend it. Staff have always been patient and friendly, with plenty of beer knowledge. Overall, Elevation has steadily provided great mountain town brews for about a decade, but has upped their game with renovations and a food truck with solid options at a great price. While there are several local choices for brewery/food, you won't do better than here for beer quality. read more

I really enjoyed this brewery stop! A nice surprise just outside of Salida, CO whenever the owner is super friendly and loves to talk about the beers. I particularly enjoyed the maibock and the three Amigos lager. Really busy but not surprisingly because of the good beer and friendly staff. With the extra time I now have due to covid, I thought I'd spend it reviewing some of the great places I've been. I visited Elevation Beer last summer during a "14er" project where we featured 14ers, distilleries, and of course breweries! This one stood out as one of the best. First, the beer stands up very well to Colorado's demand for high quality beer. Good selection, good taste. I tend to lean towards the boozier dark porters and stouts, while my boyfriend likes super hoppy IPAs - they had a good selection of both. This is also a very chill place to hang out. The bar is made of beautiful wood and has a great atmosphere. There is a large patio with a food truck - and if the truck isn't open they don't mind if you order delivery. Stopped at Elevation Brewery to pick up a couple of beers. I like stouts and didn't know which ones to buy so the waitress gave me a few tastings. The tastings in Colorado are definitely Texas Sized. Wish we could have set down for a drink, but had to hit the road. The Oil Man stout was my favorite. read more

Solid beers is what Steve and I enjoyed from Elevation Beer! We had two different beers from this brewery, both of which we enjoyed. The beer isn't super experimental on the ingredient and flavor side but that's ok. We likes the two we had all the same. Raspberry Gulch was our first beer, a fruited beer with raspberry leanings as the name implies. Despite this berry being very sweet the beer wasn't too heavy handed with the sugar and was a lighter beer in texture which I could appreciate. Probably because it was a saison which tends to have lighter characteristics. Next up was the Little Mo. A porter which was good as well. Dark and robust but again not too terribly heavy in volume which I felt to my benefit. I don't particularly care to have heavy beers much these days despite trying all kinds of different beer styles. Intriguing brewery swag as well... something I enjoy as much as the beer drinking. I do enjoy my souvineers from all the different breweries we encounter. read more

Total hidden gem! Off the beaten track...totally worth finding. Beer selection is fantastic, plus to-go cans if you find something you like. If you are in the area or looking for a place to grab a quick meal passing through this is a must stop! I went after a long hot hike with my dog and my wife. The two beers we got were the Kulsh (cold light and refreshing). Also a steeped seltzer (an herbal hard tea) it reminded us of a adult sophisticated Arnold Palmer. This review would have gotten a five star just on beer a lone but there is more. The food was top notch located on the side of the building in a permanent food truck placement. We got an order of nachos. To be specific we got the roasted veggie nachos, most of the time when you get veggie nachos you get a few veggie an a dollar or two off the bill for not having meat. This was a different story at elevation brewery. On a bed of home made thick tortilla chips there was roasted carrots,Brussels sprouts and a whole roasted jalapeño on top! The beer lineup was solid - good mix of hazy's, pales, pilsner, a sour, a brown, and my new favorite, a Mexican lager with salt and lime. The hospitality was awesome too - the 2 ladies behind the bar were a lot of fun and made a great atmosphere. We'll definitely come back and look for their beers around the Denver metro area. SO good!! All the beer we tried was fantastic and unique! We tried a bunch of breweries on the road trip during Labor day weekend and I wasn't impressed until this place. Their unique Duck and Goose IPAs were incredible and I'm a sworn anti-IPAer haha. Nice food truck outside as well (not sure if this rotates tho). Overall love this place and cannot wait to either make the trek back out here or find their beer somewhere in town!! read more

This place is so awesome! Their Tres Amigos beer is crisp and delish. First Cast IPA is so smooth you can enjoy several while hanging out there or on the Arkansas riverbank. I tried the Michelada, Tres Amigos with Bloody Maria Mix, from New Mexico, and it's pretty special... give it a go. Who knew a Bloody Mary with beer would be so fine. The food truck, Mangia, has the most amazing food, no lie! I highly recommend the Green Chili Slopper, you will not be disappointed. There were eight of us that enjoyed Elevation beer and Manga food truck fare and none of us were disappointed. read more

Love the atmosphere and the brews here. The bartender was so friendly to us and even remembered our faces when we made a reappearance a couple days later. There's not a ton of seating indoors, but there's a sizeable tent adjacent to the building that stays pretty warm. Really can't complain about any of the beers I tried - I'd personally stay away from the "low light" but that has more to do with what a 3% abv beer can offer than anything. I quite enjoyed my Little Mo, a pretty classic take on the porter, and Throwback Red, which was easy drinking. At $6 a pint you can knock out a couple of these no problem after a solid day of skiing at Monarch and reminisce about your most spectacular wipe-outs. read more

Love that they allow dogs, it is in a tent outside & needs a little bit more ambiance, The inside bar is really nice, but is quite tight when full. We really enjoyed the beer, wish they had a few more traditional beers than fruity or hopped up ones. Service is very good, even on busy days. read more

@ElevationBeerCo We needed food. They had a food truck. They were a local brewery. It was a win. Poncha Springs, Colorado and the surrounding area really plugs this artisan microbrewery. Signage for it is everywhere, although they are not artisan signs. They are standard signs. The signs really work. One can find the brewery easily without the modern GPS navigations. But we were heading there well before the signs beckoned. The Montana Imperial Porter was dark goodness black with an off-white head. It had notes of dark rum and vanilla and a tantalizing tingling spice that made it a refreshing beverage of artisan quality. Support local businesses. Especially breweries. Colorado is a beer wonderland. Elevation represents well. Drink up. You'll be glad you did. read more

After a 3 day camping trip this was the delicious cherry on top of the cake. I loved everything about this brewery, I rated the 5 beers I tried higher than 4 out of 5, they have a few high in alcohol content but it doesn't really feel boozy. The girl serving the beer was nice, they have cool t-shirts and hats, awesome decoration, it feels like you are trapped between a cool modern cabin and a vintage bar, and nice local atmosphere. I was in town for a girls trip to Salida, and we stopped by here for some brews before dinner. Kelly was the beertender and she was so great! Gave me some recommendations of their beer since I'm a bitter lover, and she was spot on. The atmosphere is great; everyone is super friendly, and makes you feel like you've known them forever. I had some cookies I had brought for the trip and I ended up sharing them with a couple of people and Kelly, because they were just so nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend the barley wine, if you get a chance to try it. I bought a hat and have already worn it twice. I can't wait to come back and drink more of this delicious beer! read more

This taproom has become one of the best as well, very much worth a stop in the otherwise drive-through non-town of Poncha Springs.
