Plenty of toppings, right amount of sauce and perfect crunch on the crust. We also shared a bowl of potato soup, soup of the day. Which came out pipping hot. BLUF: very tasty food for the most part. Friendly service. Went with a group on a Thursday night. The place was pretty busy, and they weren't ready for us despite us having made a reservation over 2 weeks ago. We waited about another 15 minutes for a table. A few of us tried their mocktails, which were actually very tasty. I recommend the apple flavored one. The pizza in calzones here are the standout. Nice crust on them and plenty of filling. Be aware of the calzone is pretty substantially sized so unless you eat big you could probably split that between two people with maybe a salad or app to supplement it. I love lasagna, and it is my acid test for any Italian restaurant. The lasagna here was very tasty, with a nice sweet sausage inside. But it was awesome very mushy. It could do with another way or to a pasta between the feelings and definitely more cheese on the inside instead of just on top. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was not a standout. Great pizza and friendly staff!! We came in on a Saturday night and even though they seemed to be very busy, the wait was only 10 minutes. We are glad we stayed. Super friendly locals making conversation with us, staff were extremely friendly, answering all of questions. Oh yea, and the pizza was amazing. Staff in to go/bar area seemed very overwhelmed despite it not being terribly busy. Too someone while to come over to take out area despite a line that had formed. Staff was not overly friendly, felt like we were inconveniencing them by picking up our order. Overall, food was good and fairly reasonably priced. Pizza crust was very thin, and cracker like. Amica's has been a must-stop since I discovered it on the way from Santa Fe to BV about 20 years ago. Their Montenotte (add green Chile, no olives) has been atop or near the top of my "fave pizzas in Colorado" list ever since. I've had it piping hot and hours later around a campfire. It never fails to please. On my initial trips, this New Mexican thought he'd stumbled into an Il Vecino outpost. The menus differ nominally--Amica's has different names for the pizzas--but they overlap a lot. Gotta say, Amica's does it all better. . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The old location was small, with limited seating/long lines, a cramped four seat bar, and grumpy man taking orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Some things improve with age, though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amica's moved to a much larger space nearby, ending the lines and counter service model, but adding a spacious, comfortable bar. The space is welcoming and roomy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No grumps in sight. Service is helpful, prompt, and friendly What hasn't changed? Delicious, well-crafted bougie pizza remains the prime attraction here. Ingredient quality still stands out and the crust, unique for ineffable reasons, hits the spot. I'm sure that calzones and salads have kept pace. The extensive menu includes most anything I'd expect from a legit Italian restaurant, including pastas, soups, panini, and desserts. . The Headwaters IPA will always have a special place in my heart, though my taste for malty IPAs might start and end with this one. We asked everyone we talked to tonight where to eat, and they all said Amica! They were not wrong. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was super cute, with plenty of room between tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A gentleman at the bar recommended the Biella and the Thai pizza, and I think my eyes rolled into the back of my head they were so good. The Thai pizza had a peanut sauce on it that made it so unique. And the Biella had a balsamic reduction, which gave it a nice balance of sweet and savory. Do yourself a favor and get both. I literally could not have picked a favorite. They also had an amazing blood orange beer. The apricot sour was good as well, and not too sour, but the blood orange beer was eye popping good. Now this place knows how to serve a big group! First timer, but the service was phenomenal! It's brewery! It's pizza! I had a small Caesar salad, Italian Blackcurrant soda, and Pizza al Pesto! The Italian soda could've been better and I should've asked without the whipped cream. The Caesar salad was your usual and it was good because some CAN mess it up. The best part was my pizza! I ordered the large one so that I can have leftovers. It was so good and one of the best parts were the pine nuts! I sprinkled fresh oregano and it was heavenly. I was looking forward to some good pizza and craft beer, and this place was good but not the best I've had. We ordered the large Caesar to split, it was big enough for four people! The dressing was pretty good, but it was covered with cheap little croutons and mozzarella cheese, which was a little much. The pizzas were very unique with toppings but the thin crust does not hold up to them. And the crust is cracker thin and very dry and tasteless, needs a little salt. The hot oil on the table had a little heat but no flavor. I would stick to 2-3 toppings and add parm and red pepper to kick it up a notch. Service was great and very fast with multiple people taking care of us. After reading all the rave reviews, we were pumped to give this place a shot. Party of 4. Sunday night. From the moment we ordered, it was a 60+ minute journey to food land. The kids were excited about the root beer... until they tasted it. Imagine liquid root beer hard candy. That's it. And their cups sat empty for 20 minutes, which is practically a lifetime in kid years. The server zoomed by our table like she was training for a marathon but didn't think to toss a refill our way. Daughter ordered the pesto turkey panini. Sounds good? Wrong. It came with a mayo swipe so tart it might've been tartar sauce in disguise. My son got the pepperoni pizza. "Meh" would be a generous review. He ate it solely because he was famished, not because it sparked joy. My sangria? Solid. Honestly, at this point, I was just grateful it showed up. Husband's sausage lasagna was the MVP. A true star in a lineup of flops. But one decent dish isn't enough to bring us back. So, yeah, we're not returning. Not mad--just disappointed. Exactly what i expected and hoped for. A small town pizza and beer joint, and both were awesome. There is a unique selection of pizza options and local craft beer. Unfortunately, this review doesn't cover the food, but I can tell you it smelled great. While walking down the street, we smelled this intoxicating smell of garlic and magic and walked in. We stood at the sign that read, "Please see hostess to be seated" for a few minutes, waiting on a hostess before the incredibly rude blonde-haired bartender pointed to another sign behind the wait-to-be-seated sign that said CLOSED. Once we acknowledged that they were closed, she felt the need to make a snide comment to one of the women in our party by mocking her and saying, "Oh, you can read," and laughing. It seems foolish to turn away a party of 6. Beyond feeling humiliated, we laughed as we went around the corner to Tacos El Tapatio and spent a couple hundred bucks on dinner and drinks. When we came by after our meal, the same lady was still there, sitting at the bar with a couple of other employees. I thought their beer options were solid - I got a good coconut milk stout and my husband got a fun creamsicle drink! For food, we split the Isla (size large) and a large Caesar salad. The Caesar was tasty - I loved the dressing. My mom loves to come to Salida to go mountain biking every summer, and we've made a habit of getting Amicas. I absolutely love their Roma pizza - including artichoke, capers, roasted garlic and olives - and this is the kind of thing you don't really find at other pizza places, so I look forward to coming back to Salida to have it! We have also gotten salads and the flourless chocolate cake. The salads and cake were good but not amazing. We've gotten take out every time so I can't speak to the ambiance or service. read more

If you just happen to be in the area then you need to visit and you need to try the chili order and buy a jar to take home. That oil is packed with flavor that's perfect for topping on any dish. We ordered the spinachi salad, which I still think about it was that yummy. The fettuccine with chicken was a massive portion of pasta. We also opted for the Michelangelo pizza. All that food topped with the hot oil was more than was expected. It was such massive portions that we had enough leftovers to share for the next night. After a long drive and getting to town late this looked like a good option. It wasn't crowded (Monday Evening). Two sides: one is primarily a bar area which looks like a cool spot and the other is a sit down table service area. We chose a table. Ordered a pizza and some local beer. My wife had a green Chile beer and that tells you exactly what it tasted like and it was really good. I had a local IPA which I can't recall the name of but it was solid. Shared antipasti salad which was perfect. We did the Michael Angelo pizza but instead of goat cheese we chose Gorgonzola which we were very happy with. Service was great. I don't know if we were just there on an off night but I genuinely don't understand all the rave reviews. My pizza was overloaded with toppings, the edge of the dough was basically a cracker and the middle was soggy. Despite all the toppings it was also kind of flavorless. I think it was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. My friend got spaghetti that was also meh. Salads were the best thing we got and those were nothing that special. Service was good and fast at least. We were there late on a Monday night. Moonlight Pizza is way better. read more

Had dinner here last night and it was bustling on a Monday. My son and I both had the bolognese forno with a side house salad. The salad was fresh with a very nice house dressing that was crisp and brought out the flavor in the greens. Spaghetti was high quality and the meat sauce was a nice balance of sauce and meat without either overpowering the other.
