I've been to this place three times now, and each visit has delivered excellent service. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for in a mountain setting--cozy, welcoming, and full of character. Everyone you encounter is friendly and seems genuinely happy to be there, which really adds to the overall vibe. The beer is exceptional, with one of the best varieties in town. Whether you're into classic styles or looking for something more adventurous, there's something for everyone on tap. I travel to this area for work, and this spot is always on my list. It's the kind of place you look forward to returning to--not just for the drinks and the atmosphere, but for the consistently great experience.

Heard some good things about this half brewery/half woodfired pizza shop in Gunnison and decided to try it on our way back into Denver from a nice weekend at crested Butte. We ordered on the phone and the staff was so nice and helpful, we wanted our pizza split half-and-half, and that was no issue. The ambience is a very mountain vibe, with lots of deep toned, wood and natural light, the restaurant was not busy when I got there, but we just picked up our order to go. As a big wood fired pizza fan, I had higher hopes for this pie than it lived up to be. I decided to try a simple cheese, pizza, but it was a bit dry and overcooked. The other half was the Diavola, which was a bit more yummy as it had cooked onions on top. Still, I wanted a bit more from my experience based off of what I had heard from others about this pizza. Maybe my choice was too simple. Wish we had time to try the freshly brewed beers in house, maybe on our next trip!

Nothing bad to say here. We rolled up on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, sat up top on the outdoor patio, and had a friendly staff meet us immediately for drink orders. I had the Bright Cider, Two Towns, nice and not too dry or sweet (aka balanced). He had the Green Gate IPA. We both ordered the mountain brats sandwich with different sides. What I really liked about the brat plate was the mustard - whole grain. Really nice and the mouth feel was cool also. We didn't stay long but this is def a place you could. The atmosphere is laid back, the service is attentive but not too much and the food and drink were great. I've said this before and I'll say it again - shout out to the kitchen staff who are bold with seasoning. Thank you!

We tried the Greengate IPA...SOLID- we got a crowler to go, Anthracite Amber....SOLID, Gunnygold Golsch....SOLID. Great historic location. Beer tender Koy engaging! Great time....

Ceasar Salad with Chicken Ice cold unseasoned chicken, couldn't eat it

The chicken in the Caesar salad was ice cold, tasteless, unseasoned. Gross. I could not eat it. And it was way over-priced for what was served. If you're looking for a salad with great-tasting protein, this is not it. Discouraged from eating out again after this.

Beginning with the greeting, they were absolutely lovely, very polite, sat us right away, we went on a non busy day so we had pretty much the second floor to ourselves. The host was lovely and then our waitress came and was just as nice, a great way to start a meal. We ended up getting the buffalo wings, SO GOOD, crunchy, lathered in sauce, tender enough, so flavorful, with a side of ranch. We had the onion rings, and let me tell you, those were BIG rings ! Again, nice and crunchy and so enjoyable. Last but not least, we had the loaded nachos and WOAH! Let me tell ya, this dish can feed up to 4+ people! It was only 2 of us and we were in shock at how big these nachos were so keep that in mind! They had beef, pico de gallo, salsa, cheese and they used different chips too, the regular and the blue tortilla chips, omg MOUTH WATERING! Full of flavor, very well made, everything about them was great! To drink we only had club sodas with lime but they do have a full bar and by the looks of it, they had it all so if Youre a drinker, this is also the place for you! The place was chill, dimmed lights, nice music not overly loud so you can still carry on a conversation , and very clean which is always on top of my list. The price was reasonable and I just loved it! This place was great in every way! Definitely HIGHLY recommend!

We ordered 2 grilled mother cluckers and bock bock fries (our go to). It was about 4pm and there were only a few people there (we were the only ones outside). After about 40 minutes waiting for our food I decided to go in to check on things. Our order was sitting on the counter. Their response was "sometimes the buzzer doesn't work from the table you're sitting at"..... ummmmm what? We ended up eating the cold chicken (and I mean cold, not luke warm) sandwiches because we were starving but asked them to remake the fries. Fast forward to a few weeks ago it was a Friday and me and a friend ordered some sandwiches and sat in the back half of the brewery . After about 25 minutes my buzzer went off. When I got up to the counter there was an order of fish and chips... they called the wrong buzzer. No biggie. Well another 20 minutes went by and nothing. People around us that ordered after us were getting their food. So I went back up to the counter and there on their service line were our chicken sandwiches. When I asked the employee about my order she went back and checked and came back and said "we just finished them up". I took the sandwiches back to the table and again they were COLD. Not to mention since the coleslaw was sitting on the bun they were completely soggy. Didn't take the sandwiches back because we had a baby with us that needed to go to bed. I'm not sure if it's a buzzer issue or what. But we aren't sure if / when we will be returning to Pomona, sadly.

Drink beer and pet dogs is a very fitting slogan for this place. Wanting to try some different beers tonight, we had quite the flight: 1 - American Dream Cream Ale 2 - Irish Red 3 - Mexican Lager 4 - Ginger Pale Ale 5 - Fruit Ninja Blonde 8 - Lostoberfest Marzen 10 - Mangy Moose Spruce Tip Pale Ale My two favorites were the Cream Ale and the Marzen. Following the flight, I enjoyed a pint of the Cream Ale. My wife liked the Marzen and the Mangy Moose the best, and she enjoyed two pints of the Marzen. Employees and customers are all very friendly. We fell in love with their original location years ago. Their beer is fantastic. The service and atmosphere, though, is what keeps us coming back. The Broken Compass team works at both locations. Claire was our favorite team member but everyone on the team does a great job at inviting you to feel welcome. They're amazing. My favorite beer is their coconut porter. It has a hint of fresh coconut and is a lighter side of porter, not too syrupy. It's well balanced and might I dare say--it's perfect. That said, I haven't had a beer here that I didn't like. They have a great layout at the original location, though you wouldn't think it being in a commercial warehouse. There's a big garage door that opens in the back to outdoor seating. There's this amazing mural in the back of the building. The crowd there all seem to know each other which I am amazed at each time we visit. It's a more local vibe at the original location than the more touristy accessible location on Main Street. The original location has a super cozy vibe, lots of board games (or bring your own). It's a great place to hangout for a few hours. They also have a shuttle that takes patrons back to Main Street. Just call or ask the crew for more details. Again, favorite brewery in Breck.
