We eat at Lighthouse a couple times a month -- it's relaxed, has a broad menu and good service. On our most recent visit, it was less crowded than usual, which seemed to lead to initially slow service, but our server was friendly and responsive to requests. The menu ranges from pizza to burgers to sandwiches to prime rib, most of which I've tried and enjoyed. This visit I had a BLT which was huge, with lots of bacon, and came with the hottest, crispiest fries I've ever had and they were delicious! The sandwich is on three slices of toast, which for me was too much bread with not enough mayo to ease the crunch. Half a sandwich was more than enough for me. My partner in crime likes the loose meat sandwich, which was the day's special. I don't see the draw. I had a bite and it's not very seasoned hamburger on a soft hoagie roll. Instead of fries, he had a salad, which was large, fresh and delicious. His dressing of choice was Italian, which had an odd pinkish-orange color and tasted like it had been mixed with a little Dorothy Lynch, but overall was a good salad. We both were full, so we didn't have dessert this visit, but the offerings frequently sound so yummy. We've tried a banana cake and a caramel cake in the past, but neither were worth finishing as they were a little on the dry side. I can only guess that might happen in a sports bar where cake isn't usually how you might cheer a team's victory. Lighthouse has a friendly neighborhood vibe and we'll be back. read more

So this place gets points for having Alaskan Amber on draft. $6 for a pint is a fair price to boot here in Omaha. We swung by to sample the HH with the kids in tow as we're new to the neighborhood. Truth? The kids 2 cheeseburger sliders with (really good) fries for $8 is an absolute deal and they loved them. More truth? The boneless chicken wings were a miss - way too much breading and the hot sauce tasted like normal Red's hot sauce which, while possesses a classic flavor, is medium spicy at best per my palate. I know it's my fault for ordering a martini in a sports bar, but I've had one there before and it was much better than this one. she failed to hear that I said a little dirty. I asked her to make another one. There's no way that I could drink that. I asked for a replacement and a side of olive juice. I got the side of olive juice in a Styrofoam cup, and see below for my martini, which had some white floating in it that looked like someone spit in my drink. The manager Katie, came over and didn't seem to think there was a problem with any of it. This is the most pathetic service I've ever received . when settling the bill I paid $20 cash, they took it upon themselves to return just dollar bills and to keep the $.23. Server forgot to put in our order. Had to wait over an hour for a burger and a wrap. Had small children who had already finished eating before our order was even put into system. Spoke to manager about inconvenience. Manager made excuses for delay of food blaming ticket machine in kitchen, showed no care for issue. Only offered free French Fries for apology. Informed manager that we would not be returning again due to this and they did not seem to care. Regular loyal customers but now will not return for future dinner plans. read more

Food was very good!! I had the sampler platter with chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. I loved the chicken and mozzarella sticks. However, the onion rings, while they were huge, had little taste so I swapped them with my mom's fries that were amazing!!!! Our sever was very nice and attentive. Husband was wanting so fish today, I saw a post about Lent specials. So we tired it out, it came out one small piece of fish and the rest hard fired fish tails, hours later the one bite I took is still stuck in my throat. We kindly asked our waitress, if this is what is normal as not like the picture at all. She said it was now so she would check with the kitchen...... minutes passed she apologized as the kitchen was refusing. She then talked to the manager, who then called the owner. Owner said it's fresh fish and by weight. Sorry! Waitress came back trying to pay for part of our meal as she felt horrible. We wouldn't allow her to do that and encouraged her to look for a job that stands up for her. We were shocked that just asked is this normal turned into such an ordeal. Tonight we had soft and hard tacos. They were really tasty and filling. They have a special every Tuesday night for $1.50 tacos. You can get them hard or soft. Service was good. This review has been edited since the grand opening thru Q1~ 2018. The whole neighborhood couldn't wait for Lighthouse to move in. But, it's been disappointing since the beginning & nothing has improved. The TVs do look great. But, there isn't anything up on the ceiling or walls to absorb sound so it is really loud and echo-y. Good luck answering your phone in here. Staff has a hard time hearing orders let alone a table trying to talk to each other. First experience, we called up and requested one of their specialty pizzas opening weekend, which was listed as a on the menu and a girl said 'we don't have a teriyaki pizza' - we checked the number & called back, talked to a guy this time and picked it up w/in an hour. Weird. Follow up visit w some neighbors/friends, we came in to eat and found out you cannot order 2 different sauces on a wings order - which is odd. So instead of ordering the 24 wings, we had to order 2orders of 12 to get 2 different sauces. (Y, are these pre-made??) Ok fine-our table orders wings and ....no napkins. No wet naps in the place at all but how do you at least not deliver napkins with wings? And it took an exceptionally long time to get some...just weird. Most recent visit in was on a Friday evening during the Winter Olympics. The place was not packed, but busy as 8pm should be. The Ruben is currently my menu item of choice, but fries were cold. I was the last to arrive in our group and the group already had their food and had been waiting for ketchup. Similar to the napkin situation above...how do you not deliver ketchup w/fries? A simple solution for these issues is - have caddy's on the tables w napkins and condiments...always.... Final warning - although a fairly new venue, the bathrooms seem to never be cleaned...at least not regularly. Even the guys couldn't go into the bathrooms during that last visit. We had such high hopes for this place but the manager (often found sitting at the end of the bar) clearly isn't one to contribute...or even greet people. Sadly, looking forward for the next restaurant moving in this summer & hoping for a quality place in the neighborhood. And what we thought was the manager apparently is the owner so all hope is now lost. :( read more

The wait staff was nice and the food was good -great onion rings. Very good philly cheese steak. I have nothing bad to say about the staff that waited on us they were considerate and doing their best. It's clear the owner does not adequately staff. That alone isn't the worst offense as wait staff is short everywhere. What is unforgivable is that you would leave 3 people to run the bar and every table in your restaurant and not be there to help them. This owner is going to burn out the cooks and every good wait staff in this place with their crappy management skills. There are cameras all over the restaurant as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they are hawking employees from their home. Best of luck to this staff and hopefully they get in some new owners. read more

I am surprised by the overall low rating on this place. I have been here many times and been happy with my food and service. It's a loud sports bar with lots of TVs. The staff has always been above average friendly and attentive. The meals have been consistently good from the Reuben to the wings to the burgers. If you are looking to push a bunch of tables together and hang out with friends while you take in a game, you can't go wrong. If I could give 0 stars I would. Pros and Cons below. Pros: TVs Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE, completely under staffed, owner wears a backward hat and has ZERO CLUE on how to run a bar efficiently, the noise decimeter will give Arrowhead a run for its money. We are here for the Elite 8 basketball games and we are literally going up to the bar to grab our own beers. It's comical. Oh yeah and the WIFI has NEVER worked one time and I have unfortunately been here multiple times. This place only makes money b/c there is a complete lack of options in the area. Anyone with a grade school diploma could run this place and print money. If I didn't live at Tiburon there isn't a chance in the world I would come here. The family and I stopped by for a bite here last weekend. I had heard some good things about their wings, so I decided to try the char buff with spicy parmesan garlic. After first couple bites...I deemed the wings "Good but not Great", as they were a little dry. I asked the waitress if I could get a side of the sauce and was pretty surprised to be told "NO". She mentioned that a lot of people ask for this, but the owner doesn't allow them to offer the specialty sauces on the side. I told her I didn't understand, as the wings already have the sauce on them...I just want a little more for dipping. She replied with "I'm sorry...It's complicated." Why on earth would a restaurant not offer their customer a simple ramekin of wing sauce on the side? I just don't get it. The wings were a far cry from being worthy of "Best in Town" and the denial of a simple request will not lead us to a returned visit. read more

Lighthouse has the most underrated wings in Omaha; their char-buffed wings can compete head to head with any others in town. The staff is friendly and attentive as can be at a sports bar; if you're looking for a sit down quiet, reserved place, I'd recommend somewhere else because that's not their goal. If you're looking for a sports bar with great drinks, great wings, and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, that's what they are great at and is what they're trying to be. In my opinion, they're easily one of the best sports bars in Omaha. read more

Well, I didn't want to do this, but the place really left me no choice. I sent an email, trying to be cool about it, but that was two weeks ago, with no response. Here we go...! We were there for a party, and the place was packed. Or so we thought. Turns out, they were way understaffed, to the point where no one was busing tables. In fact, we saw only three wait staff in the entire place. No sign of a manger, no sign of an owner. We sat at a non-cleaned table in the hopes that they would get the hint, but they didn't. We were there for 50 minutes and only had a soda. We wanted to order food, but the waitress didn't come back. The only time we saw her was when we got up to leave. She told us that several of the wait staff walked out earlier that day. I'm sorry, but if multiple folks walked out, that's a management issue. There were no visible leaders in the place, and considering the lack of response to me email, there doesn't seem to be any kind of leadership in the office either. I gave you the chance to respond privately, but this must be what you want...? When we left, we went to a different establishment and were taken aback at how friendly and attentive the staff was there, despite the packed house. After leaving unhappy a year ago, we finally tried some take out wings again last Sunday night. It was their special posted on FB that lured us in, and I was sincerely hoping for a better experience. I can only speak for the wings and the take out experience but it was terrific! The staff was friendly, our wings were hot and fresh with the perfect amount of char buff, and I got a nice to-go drink to go along with it. We went here when it first opened for just a drink. At that time service was subpar. Decided to give it another chance and went for dinner with my husband and daughter. We ordered the appetizer sampler and it came out almost black...all of it. We got 2 chicken strips, corn dogs and 3 mozzarella sticks. I sent it back and I didn't even say why and the waitress knew. If she knew it looked bad why bring it out. Brought out new order and it was still gross. Chicken was all breading. Will probably never go there again. The entry is weird...you walk in and it's solid walls with another door. You feel like you're in the wrong place. It's just a poor all around design and concept. This is a great option for a sports bar in this area! Very clean, nice comfortable interior, friendly staff, and more TVs than you could ever need! LOL 3 stars because the wings were disappointing. They don't allow you to split the order into two different flavors. Also they have either mild or hot...I wanted medium and our server said the hot wasn't very spicy. Wrong! I'm honestly surprised by the overall lousy Lighthouse Bar & Grill (168th) rating on Yelp and Google. I tend to not eat at restaurants with less than 4 stars, but I decided to give this one a chance on a Friday night because 1. it's very close to me, and 2. it was Prime Rib Friday. The spousal unit and I ordered: - 12 regular mango-habanero wings (both of us) - BBQ pulled pork nachos (her) - 16 oz prime rib w/ baked potato (me). - 2 Dr. Peppers (just what the doctor ordered) Total bill, with tax: $57 THE VERDICT: - FOOD: the wings were actually very, very good; the spouse usually doesn't like traditional (bone-in) wings, but she ended up eating more than me, and wants to try a couple different flavors next time. The nachos were enough to feed a family of four, and she said they were great; I had some reheated leftovers 2 days later (on fresh chips) and it was still good. The prime rib was so-so...a little tough and kind of bland; not bad, but not great. The baked potato was pretty basic; it was baked and then brought out to me w/ some butter. I won't waste my time or money on prime rib again, but I'll definitely get more wings, probably char-buff, and I'll try a burger or something. - SERVICE: we rolled in around 7pm on a Friday and the place was very busy. Still, we got a table right away and were served quickly by Bryan. The service was good; he was friendly and kept checking up on us. - ATMOSPHERE: well, it's a sports bar/grill, so I wouldn't expect it to be quiet, but it was freaking loud in there! Not just all the people practically yelling just to be heard, but also the HVAC system was incredibly noisy...I could hear it above all the chaos. Lighthouse really needs to put a bunch of acoustic panels in the ceiling and up high on the walls...that would make a huge difference. Seriously, when we walked outside, the silence was deafening...despite the traffic right there on 168th. - OTHER: there were a bunch of families in there with young kids in baseball uniforms. There were a bunch of lifted trucks outside the joint. Was there a correlation? Maybe, maybe not. Probably. And one super-douche was parked in the painted (hash marked) spot adjacent to a handicap van spot (i.e., the space for someone in a wheelchair or scooter to get in/out of a van). It's not like there was a shortage of parking spaces there, but super-douche lifted truck small pecker guy decided to park in a handicap spot. Some other super-douche lifted truck took up 2 parking spots nearby. It's not the Lighthouse's job to police the parking lot, but they could have a sign at the door telling super-douches to park appropriately, in appropriate spots. Oh yeah, this was on Friday, July 17, so if any of you super-douche small pecker lifted truck guys are reading this, I have something for you next time... Overall, I think this place deserves better than 2.5 stars. I'll be sure to visit again on a day other than Friday and provide an updated review. read more

Giving this a 2 star because the food is actually pretty good; their wings are pretty darn good. However, some of the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant/bar. We have given this place so many chances and have continually gone back thinking "Maybe this time it will be better." Nope. To start, we wait forever to even be helped, and then the waitresses aren't all that friendly. We are pretty easy to work with, and I am more than patient most of the time... but it gets frustrating when you wait 10 plus minutes when all the workers are sitting at a table near you chatting or eating. This last visit was the worst and the ultimate demise of this place. We played keno and because it was later in the evening, we had to go to the bar to replay our games. The bartender argued with me about how much I owed her - and I knew I was right! - She was so rude, and when her lightbulb finally went off and realized I was correct, she THREW my money at me and said "Oh shit, you're right." Not even an I'm sorry. Like I said, it's too bad because the food is actually pretty decent. But definitely recommend other places that are nearby. read more
