I've been using LWOL since their Groupon deal last year. In that time the service has gotten far better (all the weird web design flaws have been fixed, they've dramatically improved their drivers' ability to show up on time, and have added unattended pickup and dropoff). I'm a grad student who spends upwards of fourteen hours a day in lab, so the time savings alone are worth my weight in gold to me. I leave dirty clothes on my porch before I leave for lab, and the following day, pristinely folded clothes are sitting on my porch waiting for me when I get home. Every time there's been a hiccup in service, Alex has responded quickly and graciously and sorted out my problems. For the record, I'm not talking about clothes going missing or being damaged -- never happened to me! -- but things like the driver being late, or the website losing my reservation, or not recognizing my Qponicus code. He's even scheduled me in for last minute "Oh crap! I'm going out of town in two days and forgot to schedule a pickup can you pleeeeeeeeeeease help me out" situations. My only complaint: they don't have the space or capacity to deal with my high maintenance machine-wash-but-not-machine-dry clothes. They don't line dry (completely understandable!) but they also won't do no-heat air-fluff drying. I'd even be willing to pay a premium for that, since I know first hand how much time it takes for things to dry on a no-heat setting. Edited to add: Oops! I just moved to Boston a couple of weeks ago since I'll be here as an Exchange Student for several months. I live in a pretty messy apartment at Mission Hill, which I share with loads of other students. Due to the fact that our house is packed with students, our washing-machine looks very, very dirty. Therefore, I decided to take my laundy somewhere else, since I don't think the machine will do anything good to my clothes. It would probably only make them dirtier. Through the internet I found Life Without Laundry, which I first found to be a little expensive for me (since I'm a student and I don't have much to spend). However, after trying their service out for the first time this week, I can only say that I'm extremely happy/grateful with their service and their help. I've been in contact with some of the employees about the deliveries and pick-up, since the first pick-up didn't work out, and they were very kind and helpful. My clothes are clean, they're perfectly folded and they even smell good. And most important: they get picked up and delivered in just one day! Although I might not be able to use the service a lot; I will definitely recommend it to everyone! read more

Disclaimer: I didn't get to use the actual service, but I wanted to review Life Without Laundry due to their incredible customer service. I placed a laundry order to be picked up at my hotel, and Alex followed up with me to make sure I had everything, quickly after the order. I had also bought a Yelp $5 for $10 voucher and did not see where to input it on their website, though a quick email fixed the issue quickly! I dropped off my laundry with clear instructions to the hotel front desk agent that a third party would come by the next morning. However, it was sent out with regular hotel laundry. Alex graciously refunded my order even though the driver came out and waited 15 minutes to have the matter resolved. Not to mention that he texted me about 20 minutes after the driver left to get my take on what happened, saying he had received a notification that the driver wasn't able to pick up anything. I'm sad I didn't get to use the service, though incredibly grateful for Alex and team's gracious service and incredible customer service. They will be my first choice next time I am in Boston or LA. read more

I live in an apartment that is about 10 minutes away from the nearest laundry mate so I went online to find a service. They had pretty good reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I called and ask if they could pick it up that night but they needed at least a day (totally understandable), but still offered if it was urgent, which is so nice! They were on time both mornings and came at the end of the first hour. It was so awesome not having to carry all of that laundry down the stairs; they literally came right into my room. I had quite a bit of laundry- two large loads so I excepting it to be around $50 but to my surprise I was only charged $32- I had A LOT! Life Without Laundry is such a great service: 1) You don't have to lug your laundry to the nearest laundry mate or washer 2) They come within a day or two at a time you choose 3) You have them back in 24 hours 4) They smell awesome and are folder perfectly 5) My whites came back looking like new 6) Super reasonably priced I don't have a single complaint! Okay. My friends make fun of me for buying all the "weird" Groupons. (Yeah, I bought the dentist one.) Maybe that's what brought me here. Maybe I just hate doing laundry. Anyway, I finally tried Life Without Laundry this week when a business trip and overflowing hamper brought the ace out of the hole. After just 24 hours, what went out as two trash bags of laundry came back in a miraculously compact plastic bag of meticulously folded t-shirts, underwear, and socks. It was all accompanied by a personalized nylon laundry bag, which you can bet your britches I will be using again. A small hiccup: I was charged an overage fee based on LWL's 15 lb. minimum, when the Groupon actually entitled me to 20 lbs. of laundry. (Apparently two trash bags of laundry weigh 22 lbs.) I emailed LWL about it and within literally five minutes, I had a response from Alex apologizing for the error and refunding me the overage fee (even for the 2 lbs. I technically still owed). Great product. Great customer service. I will definitely be using this service again. read more

I also found out about Life Without Laundry through Groupon. It sounds like they got swamped the first couple of weeks afterward, but they seem to have things together now. I used them for the first time this weekend and everything went smoothly. I was able to book a pickup/dropoff a couple of days in advance, and the driver was right on time for both. My clothes arrived clean, folded, and smelling good. (They even folded my fitted sheet in the proper Martha Stewart-approved manner.) I'll definitely use them again. I don't have laundry in my building, and I end up spending about $15 at my local laundromat for the same amount of clothes. It's definitely worth the extra $ to me to not have to spend a weekend afternoon sitting in the sketchy laundromat. Also, like others have said, the owner seems like he really cares about making your experience a good one. I really can't say enough about what a great service this is. Seems like they've ironed out some of the initial kinks. My alternatives to these guys have been paying $1.80 or $2.00/lb for wash and fold at the local cleaners, since I don't have laundry in our building. The website could use a little more sophistication (changing times for pickup/dropoff, and a tracker for when your laundry is going to be delivered w/in the 2 hour window), but overall, how can you beat $11 for 20 lbs of laundry? Besides the price, the customer service is fantastic. They just temporarily closed for a week to upgrade their service (so they can do dry-cleaning as well), but the owner, Alex, personally emailed me to let me know he could fulfill an order I'd bought before I knew they were going off-line. Between the cheap price and the great customer service, I think they have a great thing going. Hopefully they'll continue to improve and stick around. read more

This is the only way I do laundry anymore. When I got my first load back I was so delighted with how they were folded (they even matched my socks. I don't even match my socks!) My third load had bedding in it, and those were returned in their own bag that I was able to just toss in my closet. So convenient! I had a drop off scheduled on a day we ended up getting hit by a nor'easter. My delivery had to be rescheduled. And I was happy to know that they don't make their employees work in inclement conditions. I had a pick up scheduled that ended up not getting picked up. My email was responded to in less than five minutes! Never have I had that quick of a response from any other company. And my laundry was still picked up that day, albeit later than planned, and didn't affect my return delivery. Totally worth the cost to me. I get to sleep in instead of schlepping to the laundromat, and I'm always taken care of. Couldn't be happier read more

Life Without Laundry is truly a life saver! I discovered LWOL a few years ago and thought I'd use the service during the icy, cold, snowy months when I could not even think about venturing out and carrying laundry to the laundromat. LWL has been there for me during those months, and beyond. It is such a treat to easily schedule a pick up, and drop off, knowing my laundry will be delivered as scheduled, clean, folded, and without any items missing. I've never had any problems with missing socks. It was only once that the items I'd asked be air dried, were not dropped off. I called Alex and he sent his staff over right away with my belongings right away. The only thing I am hoping for is for the LWOL app :-D I've said it before, "treat yourself and sign up!" We have been using Life Without Laundry for about a year now and the service is amazing. You can have your laundry washed, dried, and folded as soon as the next day when scheduling and you can have it dropped off as soon as the following day. You can choose attended or unattended pick up, based on your schedule, which has been helpful since we are not home during the day often. The services they provide have gone above and beyond our expectations. One time when we got the wrong delivery, LWL was so quick to fix the mistake. We ended up getting the right laundry back within an hour, and this situation only happened once in a year. The customer service in general is great. I highly recommend Life Without Laundry to those without a washer/dryer or time to do laundry themselves. 5/5 stars read more

I never thought I'd be one to use a laundry service, but moving into a walk up apartment with no laundry & far away from a descent laundry mat meant my situation had gotten out of control. The service itself was great - easy to schedule, pick up/delivery was prompt, clothes came back nicely folded and smelling fantastic. I was nervous about drying everything in an industrial dryer - I hang dry a lot of work clothes - but they are really accommodating and explain all their processes thoroughly on the website. Everything came back to me in great shape. Alex, the owner, was really communicative and answered all my questions. Other than the simple fact that I don't have to do my own laundry, LWL offers so many additional, amazing benefits!! The prices are beyond reasonable, and affordable even for me-- a starving college student! The owner (Alex) is very involved in the customer service side of the business. He is easy to reach, approachable and attentive to any of your needs. Many different options are available from LWL such as dry cleaning, stain removal, and pick-up/delivery even from your hotel. As a college student, the last thing you want to do is laundry. Plus, you can't really expect a bed comforter to be decently cleaned in a dorm building laundry room. I found LWL and decided to give them a try. Obviously was a bit nervous and concerned to send out not only the majority of my wardrobe, but the comforter that kept me warm at night. Next day delivery was huge in my decision making in picking this company, being cold for nights on end is not an option. Reliable and next-day turnaround laundry service with AMAZING customer service. I don't usually use laundry services due to my post-grad budget but LWL always takes good care of me at an affordable price. Alex (the owner) is always easy to reach by phone or email if I have questions or want an update on my order. And he works around my schedule to squeeze me in if I'm going out of town or I'm running late for my pickup or drop off. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Boston area! Cheaper than everyone else by far. Really friendly folks. Laundry comes out clean. Pick up and drop off windows seem to be missed rather often. (I'm actually waiting for my delivery now and they are late). Shoot for unattended pickup/drop off if possible and you'll have no problems. Update September 6, 2016: Things have been much better lately w/ regards to pick up timing. New features such as calling/texting before delivery are definitely a nice upgrade. Hope they continue to be integrated with the system. The owner's commitment to his company and his customers is awesome. There I sat with about 45 pounds of dirty laundry and knew things were not going to get any better. It had been 3 months since the last time I did anything about "the pile". And that's when lifewithoutlaundry.com came to my rescue. It was Christmas Eve! and they picked-up "the pile" and brought back (the same day) a clean, sweet smelling, beautifully folded batch of clothing. Some I had forgotten I even owned .. it was like a new wardrobe! White socks, beautiful coloured t-shirts and it cost less than if I had done it myself. I've been using Life without Laundry for about seven years now and I couldn't be happier. I've never had anything lost or delivered elsewhere. I also routinely send items that are labeled dry clean only and they come out fine. (I don't like dry cleaning at all). I've had trousers altered and they're perfect. But the most amazing job was one they did last week. I had several expensive garments that had huge blood stains resulting from a medical issue. If you note that you have problems spots, place garments in a separate bag or mark the item they will get it clean. I really didn't expect these items to be wearable again but they're 97% perfect. read more

Like others, not hugely excited about handing my dirty underwear to a complete stranger but did it anyway and very glad I did! Easy to sign up. Shoved clothes in trash bags for pick-up, which arrived within the appointed window. Was a bit skeptical about it since the pick-up service in my account didn't check off so called Alex who assured me they had my clothes and they would be delivered on time. Which they were. Nicely folded and clean. My bill was a bit pricey but I did have 6 large bags of clothes so... $2/lb with door service is VERY reasonable. Definitely will use them again.
