Avocado and shrimp salad

We had the avocado and prawn salad when was excellent. My wife had the sirloin steak and I decided on the peppercorn filet. They both were prepared perfect. The sirloin was very tasty and outer sear made the natural flavors to die for. The filet was extremely tender and complimented perfectly with the peppercorn sauce.

Service was excellent with Barbara as our head server. It was a busy tourist filled Wednesday afternoon and seating had looked dismal outside. Thankfully we made a reservation and we were promptly seated with A/C indoors. We each ordered a different truffle tasting menu (fresh and truffle oil). Both menus were exceptional and one of the appetizer samplers had two great carpaccio options (beef and duck). Pastas were expectedly fresh and the house made ravioli was the best I've ever had (trite praise but literally accurate in this case). My wine pairing especially was perfect and each glass was better than the last. We had a great lunch experience and the service could not be beat. They were so polite and patient with us, as well as some more demanding tables nearby. Thank you again, Barbara. A great meal after nine years since we last visited Roma.

Gigantic Truffles!!

Upscale feel but down to earth staff. Delicious and creative dishes. Can't go wrong with their truffle specialties. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy this place. Our table of 4 enjoyed our appetizers, main courses and desserts. We had the fried flower, honey, and cheese appetizer that was so unique. The waiter brought out the truffles to explain their region and let us smell them.

Burrata-stuffed ravioli and Tris Tartare

We discovered Life our last night in Rome. What a great way to end a fantastic vacation. Everything about Life exceeded our expectations: the food, the service, the ambiance. Our server, Tushan, was excellent. He was friendly, attentive, and gave us a superb recommendation on a wine to go with our meal. The food was delicious. My husband had the best burrata stuffed ravioli he has ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tris tartare. As our main course, he had a phenomenal veal scallopini while savored the best medium-rare steak ever. This was by far the best meal we had during our nine day visit. Go enjoy Life!

The whole experience was amazing. From walking in to be greeted. Wonderful explanation of the specials and the truffles! We also had non truffle lovers with us and I was a bit worried it I didn't need to be. The wine the food the service ( we got service from everyone! Even the chef said hello! And wow desert was incredible too! We dug into the entrees so fast I think I forgot to take pictures but here are the deserts. We will definitely go again! It was one our most fun dinners on a month long trip of 9! That's saying g a lot! Go you won't regret it at all! In fact I made the reservation and two months later my friends are still thanking me!

EXCELLENT!!!! The staff, the chef, the ambiance was all superb! The filet was one of the best filets I've ever had. The chef was very accommodating to our gluten free/keto needs. Delicious!

Ravioli with black truffles.

Service was great! But the drinks we received were not too good and flavor of the raviolis were average at best. Bacon on the carbonara was excellent. Noodles were not cooked all the way however.

I trusted yelp reviews so of-course we are going to try for our first lunch in Rome! And it was amazing, everything is fresh, proseco hits the spot, and this cobblestone sidewalk restaurant is what I call a refuge for the weary tourists with fine dining and wine from the hustle bustle! I love love it! And once you are done the exquisite and reasonable price black truffle carbonara , Louis Vuitton is just right around the corner of the restaurant. What are you waiting for

Beef carpaccio with truffle and arugula

Found this local restaurant on Yelp and decided to come in cause of the raving reviews. The food here was fantastic and the service was amazing! We started off with a beef carpaccio and to my surprise, it came with big slices of truffle on top. It was delightful and a generous portion. Then I had of side of truffle mashed potatoes with another slice of truffle on top. It was probably the BEST mashed potatoes I've ever had. Me and my mom shared a plate of lobster fettucine and it was loaded with lobster meat. We had asked that it come deshelled but if you'd like the cool picture, you can have it come in the shell. Huge portion of pasta. Then for dessert, we had a very, very delicious tiramisu with amaretto. So light but rich in flavor. They also gave us complimentary biscotti with cream and 2 shots of limoncello on the house. It was very nice of the server. However, I was a bit turned off by the manager who came to run my card at the very end. We had just finished an amazing meal and when I got the bill, I noticed there was a service charge added and so I was planning to leave a tip on top of that but before I could add it in the machine, the gentleman taking my card said, 'Oh the service charge doesn't go towards the servers. You have to leave tip in addition' and so I added 4 Euro and he asked 'Oh is that it?' in a very rude tone so I felt bad and added 6 more Euro. It made me feel very uncomfortable as everywhere else I went, no one has ever forced me to tip in a country that doesn't require it. Despite that unpleasant end, the other parts of Life were very good.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Great first meal in Rome!…read more I loved my artichoke pasta dish with bacon, it was a daily special. The amaretto dessert was delicious! Carbonara was super al dente. Seafood risotto was fresh. Grilled radicchio was like stir fried. Dinner for 3 for 77 euros, impressively busy for a Tuesday night. Friendly staff, easy for English speakers. :)

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

However, they had apparently started having dining "outside" which consisted of a few tables-for-two on the sidewalk. My brilliant wife came of with the idea of asking if we could just take two of those tables next to each other so she dined with one daughter and I the other. We probably looked a little funny as we got up to share plates between the table but hey, we were seated in 5 minutes. Car traffic wasn't too bad so that wasn't a distraction though it was amusing seeing delivery bikes coming and going sometimes even returning constantly to the restaurant. Clearly a very popular place. I have to hand it to our waiter, he did a fantastic job serving not just the outside but his inside assignments as well. Guy got his steps in for sure and yet he smiled and was kind through the evening. Not a sign of stress at all. Love that. Food-YUMMY! Since we were on separate tables I didn't my normal "Wait let me take a picture first!" moments lol. We got the Fried Mix to start off with which. I personally ordered a pasta carbonara and the daughter I was sitting with got a margherita pizza. My wife ordered the chicken which was thinly cut breaded chicken slices. I ordered a red (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo) to go along with my meal. Don't have all the foodie pictures because of our split tables but trust me it was all fantastic.
