Lids is my favorite place to shop for team merchandise especially Red Sox or Celtics. I've bought many of my Red Sox and Celtics hats at Lids. They have wide selection of non-local team hats. Lids sells hats only. If you want to buy team shirts or jerseys, you can walk to the Lids Locker Room. I believe that this particular store relocated closer to the Cheesecake Factory section of the mall. The only con is that the employees aren't very friendly store. Overall, a great place to purchase hats for both local and non-local sports teams. read more

Decent selection of sports hats, as well as some jerseys an shirts. Being in southern California, there is a focus on LA/OC teams, but they do have a decent selection for teams nationwide. They regularly (always?) have a buy one get one half off special, so do go when you have more than one item in mind if you would like to save some $$. read more

Located at the Irvine Spectrum. Store is a bit small, selection wasnt too good. They didnt have a lot of the hats I liked in the size I needed. I always get 2 hats, cuz the second one is half off, well the 2nd I wanted was not in that promo & all the other ones I wanted wasnt in my size. The Girl didnt offer to check in the back (assuming theres a back storage area). Definately not my Fav lids. Its too small and the employee wasnt helpful. read more

I always get pulled into this place because my "little" brother loves hats. He not only loves them, but he's so darn PICKY where hats are concerned. I absolutely love this Lids. Of everyone I have been to, this is definitely the best. It is a tiny store, but they pack a lot of different choices into that little store. But the thing that really sets them apart is the people working there. I've actually hung out there and had a conversation with them while I was waiting for my movie to start. They're extremely helpful with helping you find the right hat that you want and to get the right size. They also give you plenty of helpful tips about how to keep your hats in tip-top shape. I've honestly don't go much on yelp to write reviews but this was hands down the best customer service I've ever had! Came in very nervous bc I don't know much about hats and I was buying this gift for a friend that told me they like hats. Mind you I've been in other lids hat stores like cerritos and the Irvine locker room to glance but I've never asked questions and never got help like today. But Steve was very helpful at answering my silly questions like "can I try the hat on" & "are they're sizes on hats". It was so funny but yes he was very professional about it. I've always thought Lids was sort of an unnecessary store. How many people in the OC really need to buy a black Minnesota Timberwolves hat or a blinged out LA Clippers hat? Do people really think to themselves when they wake up, "Man, I really need to go to the mall and check out the latest hats?" or, "Dude, hurry up and get dressed - they are having a 2 for 1 sale at Lids!" In any event, sometimes I do get the hankering for a new hat. The store at the Spectrum is super tiny, but you can browse online and purchase a hat to pick up at the store. If you don't like it or it doesn't fit right you can return it on the spot. That's almost as good as free shipping. read more

I went into lids today with my 8 month old baby boy. The 'assistant manger' has a real attitude problem and is a total prick if I'm honest. This isn't my first encounter with him either. The first time I went he acted in the same miserable manor but at the time I just thought he was having a bad day but obviously not. It was suggested to me from coworkers to check out Lids for a hat. I checked out the website and online they have many different brands you can choose from. But in store it is limited to just sports teams. Well my guy isn't in to sports. So that doesn't really work well for me. Then I found out that I could customize a hat! Which is so awesome! It took me a bit to figure out just what I wanted, the guy I was working with was patient and very helpful with the process. I'm very happy with my experience and the quality of the product. I have one complaint though, the other worker who was essentially greeting at the door and watching sports, was using an e-cig while working! And for me that is a huge huge pet peeve. Seems extremely unprofessional. So I hope someone in upper management reads this and nips it in the butt! read more

I have been shopping at the little LIDS Shop (NOT the Bigger Store) at the Spectrum for over 1 year and find it to be the best in purchasing all various kinds of hats on the market. One of the associates, Aleena has helped find or pick up a hat on many occasions. I find her to be honest, ethical and displays an awesome attitude. She knows her profession very well. I ordered over 25 Lids in the last year and have them sent to the little store it saves me $4.99 and and sometimes find another deal at the store. Back to Aleena; I have been a Manager and District Supervisor for many companies over the years and I would hire her and move her immediately into a Management position. I in know way know her personally only through the times I buys hats at LIDS. Do the right thing mover her up, you will be glad you did. The current Manager is also of high caliber and recommend him also...Keep Up The Good Work HR LIDS & Keep Hiring Good People... PS: the other Spectrum store I would never send anything to them, it's a total hassle...poor book-keeping, attitude among staff is a little to much for me to deal with! read more

I tried buying a hat at the Irvine spectrum location, the so called assistant manager, Donnie attempted to help me out. I wanted custom writing on bulk amount of hats and Donnie refused to put it on the hat and wouldn't give me a reason. He is a terrible example of a manager. He was very confrontational and aggressive. I left the store because I thought he was going to get physical with me. As I left the store he mumbled racist slurs. read more

My husband & I have both had very unpleasant experiences separately at this store. The common denominator is the same person that has helped (using that word loosely) is their "assistant manager". I was just in the lids store with my 7 month old daughter (literally, I'm still at the spectrum and waiting for my lunch)... I've been in the store 4 times 2 times I have walked out bc the people haven't even acknowledged me or asked if I needed help. Thankfully the other two times, Aleena was there to help me! She is so nice and helpful she helps you find exactly what you are looking for. There were 5 other people crammed into that little store and she said hello to everyone and asked if she could help them. I've gone to the store and purchased various hats in the past. They are generally what I would expect. Staff is working there but not the most helpful. I recently was given a hat, fitted, as a present. I noticed that it looked like it had been worn a little bit and the size was too big. I brought it back to the store with the receipt to exchange it for a hat that was clean and their correct size. The manager, Alex, was very rude and stated that he had never sold that happy for his store. He scanned it and then he said he sold it but he only had defective ones that had damage. His story changed a couple times, ultimately telling me that he refused to help me, would not refund or exchange the item for proper fitting hat. And if I had a problem with it I would have to call the 800 number. I was polite about this and explained that I would not wear hat that was one size too big. He said it did not matter and he was not gonna do anything and it was time for me to call corporate and if I had any problems. Lesson learned, employees are lacking customer service skills, and if you're ever given a hat or purchase a hat to make sure that it is in pristine condition prior to walking out of the store. read more

This was my first time ordering from Lids!I I ordered 2 pittsburgh steelers hats during a sale they had and was told they would be available for pickup at the Irvine Spectrum Store in a week. Today I receive an email (how impersonal) that my order cannot be fulfilled.I wonder if they even bothered to try and find my item at another one of their zillion locations. Usually a store will offer something for the inconvenience . This is my last time ordering from lids. My advise don't waste your time!!! read more

I received two hats as a gift. And I didn't like the hats so as usual I went to return the hats for money back/gift card or whatever it may be. They said I wasn't able to return the hats. And so I asked for an exhange since he said the hats were a sale item. And I couldn't even exchange two hats that I never wore and that I'll never wear. Point being I'm not trusting to ever go back to purchase a hat from here again. I've never had an issue with a return sale item or not but this just turned me away from buying hats from this company. It doesn't make sense why I couldn't just exchange the hats for another two that I would actually wear and tell people oh yeah I got it from Lids there hats are the best! Walked into the store looking for a specific hat. The store had one other customer there and 4 employees. Three of which were watching a streaming video on a phone and the fourth was practically falling asleep at the register. When I asked for assistance the hat I asked for was right behind his head which I asked if he could reach it since he was in front of it. No movement just staring into space until one of the other employees stepped in to hand it to me. No one was able to answer questions about sizing, style, available colors or even suggestions to what could be close to what I am looking for. I am 100% positive the place had what I was looking for. But none of the unhelpful employees were willing to assist. It would have been a purchase of a total of 3 hats that they will not get, not to mention other unsatisfied customers. read more

Lids locker room for us was a terrible experience twice in a row. On the phone, the guys we spoke to were unprofessional and were talking to other people while on the phone with me. They said to come in at 5 or 6 for a personalized jersey because the person who works on them had one to do before ours and it would be ready in 30 min. So we went. The sized jersey we needed had stains and the guys went around the store unsuccessfully and goofily trying to find cleaner. Turns out - they screwed up doing another jersey while we were there. Made us scared for our $112. They said they would try to get it done before the store closes - in 3 hours not 30 minutes. They were unprofessional, had a bad attitude and were goof offs. An hour or two in, we get a call that they can't get it done until tomorrow - until their manager who does it comes in. We were kind of glad and hopeful that it might turn out ok and asked them to get rid of the stains too before we pick it up. But we were so disappointed when we got it. It was off center and the individual letters and numbers were crooked too. When I pointed that out, the two guys made excuses and said it was ok. When I pointed out that the stains were still there, he was like, "oh, ya." This was a gift for someone for Father's Day and the worst money I've ever spent. It you want a personalized jersey done, get it professionally done through MLBshop.com or other professional websites. It's the same price, and it's worth it. So disappointed with the way everything was handled. We will not do that ever again. read more
