We originally walked in just wanting to ask a few questions about the new Meta glasses -- and of course, we ended up walking out with his and hers Meta glasses! I didn't realize I already reviewed this place, but for good measure decided to drop another review after receiving such good service again. I received help from Rhett who took the time to help me understand lens sizes and made some recommendations on the style of sunglasses I wanted from Oakley. With his advice and guidance, I was able to understand the selection available a bit more as well as have a more informed decision on which pair may suit me best. I ended up with a newer model Actuator pair that has a flexible nose piece area allowing for the sunglasses to not move when my head is bobbing up and down. The material is also grippy on the arms so that it does not slip off when sweaty. The suggestions made the process a bit easier to finalize a decision, and I definitely find the product and service worthwhile. Highly recommended for anyone interested in checking out sports oriented or active wear sunglasses if they need to try on the vast selection of glasses available at this store. read more

Oakley employees are very well informed on their products, current and upcoming. Funny, how one of the guys stared at my headquarters Oakley shirt but didn't say anything. This Oakley store didn't seem to have much for the women in terms of clothing and glasses. The items haven't changed much in price since the last time we browsed the store years ago which is pretty cool. However, I was expecting more special editions like x-metal and yet I mostly saw plastic everywhere. Designs looked identical with small variations. When they were bought out, things shifted to generic...sad. Oakley used to be the hip, state of art stuff back in the day. Really hope to see some new age stuff at the event next month. If you sign-up with the salesperson, they'll notify you directly about details as their special midnight launch date approaches. Had an issue with lenses delaminating. Tried to get warranty service in-store and was told all warranty items are done online. Turns out that is not true -- glasses that were bought at that store are supposed to be serviced at that same store. Complete waste of my time. Won't be back to that store since they don't stand behind their product. Stay away! read more

I cannot say enough good stuff about my Oakley Airbrake goggles. They are absolutely the most comfortable goggles with the best lens for all types of conditions and terrain; and they have a fantastic wide field of view. Best of all, they have a cutting edge lens replacement system that is WAY easier than any other goggle for switching out lenses...takes 20 seconds. Simply fantastic. You definitely get your moneys worth with these premium goggles. Other goggles are good - these are phenomenal. I had a minor issue with a recent order, and their customer service team got back to me right away. They took care of the situation and got me right back on track with my order. OAKLEY AT IRVINE SPECTRUM - HUGE SELECTION OF SUNGLASSES. I needed some Oakley sunglasses for use as a "spare" set of sunglasses and I wanted to try on the sunglasses first and not spend hours sifting through the voluminous amount of sunglasses, frames and lenses sold online by Oakley. Instead, I wanted to make up my mind on the spot by trying on the sunglasses in person. So, I went to the Oakley Irvine Spectrum because it has a huge selection of frames and lenses that I could "try on first" before buying anything. RHETT WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPERIENCED. The helpful Oakley salesperson whose name was "Rhett" answered all of my questions and invited me to spend as much time as I needed trying out different frames and lenses that were in the showroom. All of the displays of sunglasses in the store were neatly arranged and easy to try on, one by one, as often as I liked. The store was very well-stocked with lots of Oakley frames and lenses. In my case, I needed a durable frame with dark polarized lenses, preferably iridium lenses. I spent an hour trying on one frame after another and Rhett never pressured me to hurry up. Rhett was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous at all times. In the end, I selected Oakley M2 frame XL with iridium polarized lenses that were perfect for me to use as a spare pair of sunglasses. I've been a loyal Oakley customer for years. I love the brand, and I've bought all my sunglasses from Oakley because of the quality and the style. I've even shopped at this specific Irvine Spectrum location before and had great customer service. But today, that reputation was completely overshadowed by one employee's poor attitude. I went into the store with my brother to look at prescription glasses. As soon as we walked in, I noticed a staff member give us a dismissive look. I hoped it was just my imagination, but unfortunately, it wasn't. When I started browsing in the prescription section, the same employee--while still helping another customer--abruptly said to me, "Hey buddy, what are you looking for?" I told him I was interested in buying glasses. Without explanation, he replied, "I can't have you in this section right now." Trying to be understanding, I asked if I could at least join the waiting line to be helped. He curtly responded, "You can't do that right now, I'm helping him." His tone and body language made it clear that he didn't care to help me or even treat me with basic courtesy. It felt as if he was eager to please the other customer but had no interest in treating me the same. The contrast was obvious--and unprofessional. Frustrated, I started heading toward the exit, but then turned around and politely asked for his name so I could give feedback. He refused to tell me. For reference, the employee was a Latino male, around 5'5", wearing glasses. This kind of interaction doesn't reflect Oakley's standards. It's unfortunate that a brand I genuinely enjoy and support can be misrepresented by a single employee. I truly hope that someone in management, HR, or the store owner will see this review. Behavior like this drives customers away, and I know Oakley doesn't want to lose loyal buyers over an employee who lacks the professionalism and respect that the brand stands for. read more

I arrived about 20 minutes after opening today. Apparently, a customer was there by appointment. I was there to get prescription frames. The second employee was not trained to assist me. I waited about 30 minutes while the other customer and the other employee talked and did whatever. I finally walked out. I'll get my glasses somewhere where they can do better. After ME calling multiple times and being told they are still working it, have to start over, this and that, a month later I finally asked for refund which they did. Came in just to check out what they had and we walked in at the best time! They have a 3 day sale for the Memorial Day weekend where most of the frames are 20% and the 2nd pair is 50%! The husband and I tried on a few pairs since we were looking for a pair to cycle in and we tried the Sutro and Sutro Sweeps. I've been a cheapskate my entire life when it comes to sunglasses. I don't think I've ever paid more than $25. This is probably because I lived over half my life in Seattle where the sun is a rare phenomenon. My embarrassed wife finally insisted that I get a pair of decent sunglasses so I wouldn't look like a dork anymore. So off to Oakley I went. This store has a great selection of sunglasses as well attire for snowboarders. I tried on several pair of glasses and it didn't take me long to find a pair I liked. The pair I chose was $110. which was actually one of the cheaper ones I looked at. After a life of cheesy-cheap sunglasses these felt better on my head and to my eyes and were more visually appealing than any sunglasses i've ever owned. Employees did not approach me while I was shopping but were very helpful and courteous when I made my selection. Really the only thing I didn't care for was the annoying music they were blasting on their in-store sound system. These darn kids and their music.... read more

I'm a big fan of Oakley. I know their sunglasses are expensive, but they are stylish, have great lenses and backed by great customer service. I recently purchased a pair of replacement lenses for my sunglasses through their website. I got the lenses and noticed they were the wrong size. Being the weekend, I called the store at the Irvine Spectrum and told them my problem. They said, no problem! Bring in the lenses and we'll exchange them and put them in for you. The best part of it, he told me if I could possibly bring in my receipt too it would help the exchange process because they just switched over to a new system and it's hard to find things bought online from their store. Now, in my opinion, that's someone who is thinking more than 1 step ahead of the customer and trying to avoid what might be a poor customer experience if I had to wait because of their system. I brought the lenses and receipt to the store and the lady (I can't remember her name) helping me was very kind and kept apologizing for the wrong lenses. It was my fault that I got the wrong lenses originally but she tried to make me feel better about the whole situation. After a few minutes of locating the correct lenses and putting them on my frames, I checked out by signing the exchange receipt and I was on my way. Overall, less than 5 minutes and nothing be a great experience for something that was my fault. At no time did she make me feel like she was doing me a favor as some places do. I will be an Oakley fan for years to come. As long as their customer service lives up to what I experienced, they've got me for life. read more

We went on a Friday, late afternoon. And it wasn't too busy. That's a good thing because it took about 40 minutes to get the sunglasses. But, Amanda was delightful to work with. I asked for the store to issue replacement sine there was manufacturers warranty and they had the replacement in stock but refused to provide replacement saying they only had one in stock. Store manager was horrible at Spectrum. I went to another store and they didn't have it in stock but offered to send replacement to my home. Oakley should fire the Spectrum manager. read more

I was looking for my first pair of sunglasses that i can get prescription on and be very stylish at the same time. I thought of Oakley and dropped by for a visit. The service was phenomenal. The young lady that does the prescription orders was very patient, kind and resourceful. My brother and I got a total of 3 glasses. She made sure to explain to us in detail what it would cost and what insurance they take and how the insurance pays for certain things. She also found the best deals for us to have. We actually found it cheaper to get our regular eye glasses here as well rather than at lenscrafters or something. The location is great. Many places are sold out so it was literally a browse and a Hail Mary when I asked Evan if they had them in stock. Evan went to the back to go check, and brought out about 6 different pairs for me to check out. He showed me numerous color schemes, explained the difference between the models, and was genuinely interested in helping me making an informed decision without making me feel rushed or pressured. Horrible customer service, I bought 2 pairs of sunglasses less than 2 weeks ago from a different store, I wore them literally less than 30 min each and didn't feel comfortable with them so I decided to return them. One of the glasses was the one on the display they didn't have a new one so I stopped by the Irvine spectrum location to return them in my day off. I was first met with the sales associate Jestina (I think that's her name), she looked at them less than 3 seconds and said they are full of scratches we can't return them, I explained to her that one of the glasses was the one on display, and I literally wore it less than 30 min, the other pair Had zero scratches. She shut down the conversation in less than a minute by saying you can go back to where you got them from (80 miles away) excuse you, I came to a store that represent the company, not stated in my receipt that i had to go to the original store, I asked to speak to a manager she pointed guy at the edge of the counter that was listening to our conversation and without even making any efforts to examine the glasses he agreed that the glasses are not returnable. The girl who helped me was very helpful until I was going to pay. I just wondered if they give out discounts for frontliners. She asked if I was, I said no , but my wife is. She asked if she was a police or with the fire department. I said no ,she is a Nurse. She said, they only do it for law enforcement and fire department. Will try to keep the backstory short here... Ordered glasses online during the Fourth of July sale estimated delivery 7/14. Was concerned on the 12th when items didn't even ship. Called customer service was told due to Covid extended lead times and to wait. Called again on the 14th when I was supposed to receive order, was again told due to Covid delayed shipping. I asked for an additional discount due to the time spent calling and my order clearly wouldn't make it by the promised time and was denied. I asked to speak to a manager, and was denied. I emailed the corporate email requesting assistance and was finally told my item is out of stock from early July. The rep gave me a 15% off code but I had to use it via the phone. Called to try to place order when items came back in stock almost a week later and they weren't open. Long story short online and phone support not worth even trying! Now for the store review! Called ahead to inquire about my item being in stock and was told yes and it would be held for me. After waiting to get in the store for 20+ mins as his other help called out that day (Covid life no fault of his own) I explained to the manager I had called and he went to get my item. I also explained to him the back story and he agreed that it was a bad situation. He not only helped me get my glasses but brought the pricing back to the sale price. I was so floored I picked up some shirts and a case at the same time because he made the extra effort! Before leaving I thanked him again. If you're at the spectrum definitely hit him up his name is Jared. I commend him for his amazing customer service as well as sympathy towards his customers challenges.
