One of my favorite stores to go to when we are at the mall. This location has a decent size store, right on the corner which makes the layout feel roomy. The staff is always great and welcome you as soon as you walk through the door. Great variety of items as well and there is usually some sort of promotion going on storewide which helps when shopping. Love the fact that Hot Topic has themed and movie/show specific apparel and merch. Halloween is always my favorite time of the year of course and no matter what month we are in I know I can find something related to Halloween/Horror anytime of the year. The store does tend to get pretty crowded (which is good for them) but can be hard to navigate through sometimes. Other than that love this location! read more

The store gets packed easily during the holidays, but they still manage to have everything in stock. This is one of the better Hot Topic locations - it's a bit bigger, cleaner, and very well laid out! It's not junky and overwhelming like the others. It's very easy to stand back and see where everything is, and find everything you're looking for. This is definitely my favorite location! read more

I've been going to this hot topic since the Laguna Hills mall closed. They have a large variety of things to choose from. They are very organized and I've never seen a mess there in the years I've gone. The employees are great in terms of customer service. They compliment you, they talk to you about a band you might be wearing, and they overall are really kind. The only reason why I'm not give this store its fifth star is because everytime I've gone they would play Harry styles or taylor swift. It really does ruin the hot topic experience. I listen to those artists outside of hot topic but when I walk into hot topic I want Emo music!!! I want mcr, ptv, bmth, the used or a day to remember... it's genuinely frustrating hearing Harry styles in hot topic. Management needs to do something about that. That is the main reason I haven't been going as frequently as I used to. I've been a kpop fan since 2013, if I want to hear red velvet or blackpink I'll go to a kpop store. I haven't been to a Hot Topic in a hot minute. I strolled in to look at some T-shirts. Their selection has grown quite a bit, and the quality of the shirts has definitely improved. Besides that, the staff at this location are cool and nice. One woman, I believe her name was Jay... helped me out, and was super cool and friendly about looking in the back stock for a particular shirt in my size. In my opinion, customer service is declining these days; but not here. 5/5. read more

This is probably the best Hot Topic that I've visited in a while. The store's nice, big, clean, and has a wide selection of merchandise. I was helped by a lovely team member multiple times (I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names or I'd shout you out!) including looking up an item to see if it was in stock and retrieving it from the storeroom for me. He went above and beyond to find the shirt we were looking for and I can't stress how appreciative we are. We were able to buy gifts for all 5 of our friends. They have a variety of items and they ran out of a lot of the nightmare before Christmas items but thankfully I was able to find a mug and again all thanks to Xavier who helped us find the Sailor Moon shirt, the mug, and other items. Hot Topic is a large chain retail store. This specific location is located in the Irvine Spectrum Center. This store carries a lot of clothing and accessories that are primarily fan based memorabilia. It's one of the only places around that you can find accessories from your favorite shows, movies, and bands. They have a large selection of items here. I mostly come for the Harry Potter, Disney, and Supernatural accessories. There is a lot of cool gift items here! The customer service here is pretty decent. The price is a bit on the higher side but they also have a ton of promo deals! ah Hot Topic at the Irvine Spectrum - been shopping here awhile and they have been consistently pleasant and attentive, stock a lot of fantastic anime and movie related goods, and always brighten our visits to this mall. Recently a limited release pop hit the scene from the old anime Yu Yu Hakusho and the Irvine Spectrum came through on having a few available! We also got a few hard to get items over the last few months here - always a fun stop! read more

This location is close to my work, so whenever their website has specials, I do ship-to-store here (free). I've had no problems whatsoever with this store, and will continue to ship my Funko Pops and other cool items here :D Although it may be slightly smaller than other HT stores, they still pack quite a bit of items on the shelves. The Funko Pop shelf is fun to look at. and their merchandise is branching out to include more anime as well. Went to the hot topic in Irvine with my friends while we were shopping around my friend went in hopes of finding a skirt for herself- she is plus size and was very nervous to find clothes. We let her have privacy while we all browsed the store, and when we returned she was quiet and sad. One of the workers had apparently told her that they probably didn't have her size and she should shop at torrid (a shop for plus size folks) We found the comment unnecessary . This location is a part of the Irvine Spectrum center and is positioned in the middle high foot traffic area. It's always neat and well organized with plenty of employees around to answer questions if you have them. Due to the location, it's a smaller store overall and has less options than locations you may find in malls. We've found a few things in the times we've walked in here and the staff has been helpful. I forgot to review this place months ago but I just wanted to give a special shoutout to all the helpful employees that helped me surprise my best friend by letting me secretly buy her a backpack hidden behind the counter while she was right next to me. 3 stars because it was kind of awkward being asked 99 times if I was finding everything okay AND because I was in this one section looking at Black Panther shirts and this female worker walked up and asked me if I found everything okay and I was like "Yeah! Thank you!" and when she walked off SHE FREAKING RIPPED A SILENT BUT HORRENDOUS FAT ONE. I obviously didn't hear her fart but the smell was so god awfully unbearable that I had to trek over to the other side of the store. I knew it was her too because I hadn't eaten all day and she was the only one next to me within a 10 foot radius. I gave her stinky butt some major stink eye for that. Love it here! Have been coming here for roughly three years almost every weekend, ever since becoming a UCI student. I always love their selection, if anything staff are TOO friendly and attentive when you're walking around shopping. Can always be sure I'll be greeted kindly, often complimented for their merch I'm wearing lol! If it seems one day a staff member isn't too happy, I understand that this is because of maybe how the day is going, or more recently covid, because when I come back they're alright again. I went into the hot topic at the spectrum hoping to find something nice to wear.. because of this quarantine and having to be inside majority of the time I thought it would be nice to feel good about myself again. My friend ended up finding this rad borderlands shirt and went up to pay. The cashier Jes was already not in the mood. He commented on her clothes thinking she was doing some kind of cool Harley Quinn cosplay and in a angry tone she told him she wasn't and he can leave now which he didn't because I was still collecting some things to buy. I saw Jes come towards us and was making a pick your mask up gesture with her hands. I had been wearing my mask since I got to the outdoor mall so I look behind me confused because I hadn't touched my mask or even moved it to "breathe" she told me I can't let it go below my nose. I was confused and replied how I didn't have it under my nose or even moved it. And she said I can see your nostrils. I moved it higher than it was which wasn't far because it was literally on the very top of my nose. After being attacked I was already over it.. I told my friends let's just go. I was walking out the store but still looking at the cute stuff, I mean.. it's been a while. And I can see her watching me, like I was up to something. I then have another co-worker of hers whose duty was to let people come in 1 by 1 come up to me and ask me to put my mask on. He sees my mask is on and walks away. We are almost by the exit and the worker Jes again starts fighting me about my mask. Telling me to keep it on. I keep explaining that it is on, and my friends are trying to get an explanation on how is it not on. She then stated when I talk it comes down and so I told her then stop talking to me...I'm not around anyone in the store but my small group. After that she tried to give me a tutorial on how to wear my mask by crossing over the ear strap for the mask my mask is made with hair ties so that was something that couldn't be done but she had my remove my mask completely in the store just for me to show her my mask was and was already secure. I explained how is you having my take my mask off better than you supposedly seeing my nose slightly coming out and she had nothing to say about that I told her why is she even continuing this we were already on our way out and she said good get out now. It was a very traumatizing experience with everything going on and it sucks that the one time I was ready to put some effort on looking nice since covid this had to happen. I really feel I was discriminated because I looked different then most of the customers that were in the store. read more

Considering there aren't many OC Hot Topics, I expected this to be a larger store, but it's fairly small. That said, they have a lot jam packed in it, but they definitely do not have the inventory of band merchandise larger locations have or their online store has. I was able to pick up a couple shirts for my son and it's nice to feel/see the quality or lack there of. With school back in, I recieved adequate service and was able to get in and out quickly. As to the other items on my son's wish list, I suppose I will take a gamble and order online. read more

This Hot Topic is located at the Spectrum next to the lion fountain PokéStop. They have a large selection and ample room between merchandise selection for my big butt. I was browsing and looking at shirts to find if there were any on clearance, and a sales rep asked me if I needed help. And when I went to different departments in the store, the same sales rep kept asking me if I need help, which occurred a total of 5 times. Since I was there to window shop it became irritating so I left without buying anything. For all further inquiries from any sales rep of this behavior: I don't need help! I went to this store the other day with my friend so she could buy a shirt. The store was short staffed because of Covid which I totally understand, but we were at the register for almost 10 minutes so I went to ask the girl at the front if there was someone assigned to the register who could help us. She (green blue hair with a ton of tattoos) proceeded to tell me in an extremely condescending and unprofessional tone to go back and wait for the other worker at the register and be more patient. Again, we had been waiting for a while so that's why I even went to ask her in the first place. I even went so far as to say to her that I wasn't trying to be annoying about the situation, but I just wanted to know if they have someone assigned to that station or what because no other staff was anywhere visible in the store. She gestured me away. The other staff member rang us up at the register later and apologized for the delay, and I told her that it was okay and completely understood the situation. I do not however understand the other staff member's unnecessary attitude and lack of professionalism. She even glared at me as we left the store. I never had a bad experience shopping at this store beforehand, but this certainly tainted my experience. I hope she doesn't do that to other shoppers again and learns from her mistakes. read more

They did have what we wanted and yes that particular store is very well-stocked I just like someone that's a little more bubbly and friendly . The Pops wall is FULL and I have always been helped beyond what I could fairly asked to be helped. The employees answer all of my questions tirelessly with a smile on their face. This place can bite my butt. My review won't go up in stars until that joke of a bitter, bearded boss blows off into the wind. I actually enjoyed coming here because I love their shirts and I've enjoyed their awesome punk colors. To be honest, the females working their are super nice, super friendly, and very sweet. I can usually find a balance in rewarding a rating between items available, customer service, and other miscellaneous necessities. However, the beard and his pierced nose are the only things cool about this bitter man in his bitter existence. I've got enough bitter. He clearly despises the customers and his job and it's keeping me from patronizing the store until he's gone. You know Badtz Maru... Hello Kittie's pissed off penguin friend? Yeah him, that one... even if I'm smiling on the outside, the look on Badtz Maru's face is more than likely what I feel on the inside. I think that is why I love Hot Topic and their sister store, Torrid. Although I've never dressed like Siouxie or Robert Smith (nor have I ever wanted to), I think I've always been a closet goth inside. While my friends dressed this way in the early 80's, I sported my Pat Benatar haircut, turquoise leopard fitted top, studded leather belt with the mandatory handcuffs and my jeans with the zipper from belly to the small of my back (or crack). Remember those? Oh and remember Boy of London cloths? Before they were popular and my guy friends wore black eye liner and could be seen listening to Blue Monday at "The Wave", chugging down the best Long Island Ice Teas in Waikiki? I had purchased a jacket online and it turned out to be too big. I do have to admit that it was my fault that I should have returned it right then. However, I have just recently returned from my vacation and missed the return deadlines of 30 days. I tried to return the jacket at this Hot Topic location where I frequently shop at. The tall male associate with short blonde hair (team lead or manager?) refused to do the return even when I was only asking for a merchandise credit for a brand-new, unworn, fully-tagged jacket. Associate: This is past 30 days, I cannot do the return. Me: I understand, but I'm not asking for money back. I would like to return for merchandise credit. Associate: No. Me: But, you take returns without receipts for store credit... Associate: Yes, but you do have the receipt. So, no. ...I could not fathom how returns without receipt would be acceptable and how returning a brand-new clothes with receipt would be not. I was merely trying to get merchandise credit that I'll have to spend back at the store. On the website, it states "We hope you love what you've ordered, but if there's an issue or you're not 100% satisfied, return your item(s) to the nearest Hot Topic store." Also, on the back of the receipt, it states "We want you to be satisfied!" False advertisement much? I do know their policy is for 30 days with the receipt. Although, numerous companies allow 60 days and some even past that deadline as long as you keep your receipt. This store had provided one of the worst customer service I have ever received. I was unsatisfied with the whole scenario and the associate's attitude. I will not be shopping at this location. Ps. I went to the Hot Topic location at The Block in Orange. Not only did they allow me to exchange the very same jacket for other items in the store, I was also able to get the buy 2 get 1 free sales offer along with it. I ended spending a little bit more money. All of the associates greeted me and were helpful and friendly. Please tell me how the same company treat their customers differently. read more

I like what they sell. There's a lot of items you usually can only find online but you can find here. My gripe with this store and all the hot topic stores. It's dark, the music is too loud, the spaces are too small and the staff generally avoid you. The entire store screams unfriendly and sometimes it just deters me from buying anything. Not to mention the prices are a little high almost always, sometimes buying online is just cheaper. I'd pick the hot topic website over going in store. read more
