I just love this store so much plus they have awesome clothing and accessories and very nice workers

I spoke with the store manager on the phone, he hung up on me and had a rude tone. I highly do not recommend.

Bad customer service: July 28, 2019 at 12:58pm. The two girls working register were so rude to my boyfriend. They refused to honor the online price on the Hot Topic site and gave major attitude saying a lot of no's and you can't do that until we have to order our items separately just for them to honor the online price we saw. Finally, we were able to get the price we saw on their website but the coworker next to her started saying "we did a good deed" in a sarcastic manner. And honestly, that was really uncalled for. I did not get her name and she even rung up the lady behind me first just because I was with my boyfriend and had to do a separate transaction that was unneeded. This was seriously the worst customer service at any Hot Topic location we went to and I honestly don't get what their problem was in refusing to help us price match from THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Please don't hired such spiteful people to work in your store. I remember our Hot Topic experience with a very helpful guy at the Westminster Mall location, where he went above and beyond to help us find the lowest possible total of our transaction and even pulled out his calculator to add things up one by one to let us know whether we should do the online promos or in store promos to help us save. read more

Not many Hot Topics in the area, but by far the BEST Hot Topic to visit. They have a large store in the outdoor mall of Irvine Spectrum and great customer service to help you with any requests from grabbing items that are out of reach to recommending gifts. I'm probably past the age demographics of shopping at Hot Topic but occasionally I do find something I'll want to own. This goes for the cool dresses they have on their website. I bought two off of the website and had it shipped to the store for free. They were offering an additional BOGO deal on certain themed merchandise so I went ahead and ordered an additional tank. The items arrived while I was out of town but I went to pick them up when I was available. I wasn't sure where I needed to go so I stood in line at the register. Once I got to the cashier and told her I was there for an online order, she told me that I didn't need to stand in line. Oh, silly me. I didn't see any other employees around who would have helped me since everyone seemed to be planted at the register. Once I gave them my order number, someone went to the back and grabbed my order. They asked if I wanted a shopping bag too. Sure, why not? I did ask if I could try the items in the store in case something didn't fit and they showed me to a dressing room. I tried the items on, they fit so I kept my entire order. Pretty simple. Service was fine once I got an associate to speak with me and the items were reasonably priced. read more

I'm going to be honest, and say that I used to hate this location because of the rude sales reps in the past. However, things have improved at this location. I'm not sure about the mixed reviews, but I just wanted to say that I have worked in retail before. I know how important it is to treat customers in the nicest way. I came here a couple of weeks ago with my mom, and one of the sales reps (wish I remembered her name) was super nice, and she offered to help us with any questions that we needed. She had pastel pink hair, and a some piercings if that helps. Long story short, I will come back here to buy some more Pierce the Veil and Prince t-shirts. read more

Popped in here a few weeks ago on the way to another store here at The Spectrum. Nothing like a few laughs to lift your spirits for some crazy stuff here. Huge slection of rock and misc t-shirts, goth stuff, crazy pants...so many things that could easily be incorporated for Halloween. It was a fun store to check out (love this kind of stuff) and great for fun, random gifts for people. read more

Agreed with other reviews. Terrible service at this store. Staffs are a bunch of teenagers w bad attitude. Not acknowledging customers, not offering any assistance. We waited for 15 mins for someone to unlock the fitting room, while several staffs are chatting and giggling at the register. I used to constantly be here with my one of my daughters, so I got to know everyone pretty well and I will say this place used to be cool when Marcus still worked there. According to the associates, he was fired by Robin who still works there two days before his resignation day. Ever since then, the place is like a prison. None of the employees are as happy as they are anymore and it went from awesome customer service to SELL SELL SELL. The employees don't care about the customer anymore... just selling. Robin needs to either leave or change her mind set. I don't come in anymore unless Robin is gone or if Lauren is working. Lauren is super chill. Everyone else just makes me wish the store was how it was last year. read more

My siblings are teenagers and love this store. This store isn't as big as other hot topics but the locations is great and I love the fact that they are dog friendly. I brought my dog buddy in and he went unbothered, one of many shops at the spectrum that allow pets. Five stars for Candace who was working the register, she gave me a discount when I added an item onto a purchase I had already made because I would have qualified for the coupon with my total. Super nice of her to inform me of that and go through all the extra steps and receipt copies without me even asking. Great customer service Candace, thanks again! read more

I love this HT because it doesn't feel like I'm shopping in my messy closet. They've got a great clearance section, which is usually where you'll find Yours Truly. The last time I went here, I signed up for their version of a [insert store name here] club card thing. Although this isn't one of my top places to shop, I figured it wouldn't hurt to sign up for the free card. Unfortunately, I may never reap the benefits because for whatever reason, I couldn't register online. Wah. Guess it doesn't matter. I'll be there when the Eclipse merch hits those shelves. Yeah. I love Hot Topic because music is my favorite thing in the world and this is the main place I get my band shirts from,but the employees who work here need to learn about the bands products that they sell here. I went in and asked for a band shirt by a big punk band called New Found Glory and the guy working there didn't even know if they were a band or not. That makes me mad because this is a store focused on music and pop culture at least learn about what you are selling. read more

I have four teenagers and they love their merchandise, unfortunately for them I'm super frustrated with their customer service and won't be shopping there for them. We had purchased a t-shirt that still has tags on it and I wanted to return it, missing the 30-day deadline since the location is not close and I couldn't make it on time. I tried returning 45 days after purchase knowing I probably couldn't get my money back but I thought I'd at least be able to get a store credit. The manager, who seems to have no customer service experience or managerial authority, gave me no options, just said there is nothing he can do he just kept saying sadly that is the store policy, sadly for him I will not be back with my four children. Since it is hot topics merchandise I could see not returning something months later but 45 days just seems a little much, it's a ridiculous return policy read more

I received a boxed short at Christmas. Bless my husband's heart, he thought I was smaller than I am. I tried to return it, but was told they wouldn't accept it if the box is open. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to be sure of the fit without opening the box- but for the price of the T- short, I should've been able to exchange it. This location is wonderful! It's HUGE, which gives a great wide selection, and lots of options. I especially like how large the sale section is, three or four while huge racks! The staff is really helpful and nice, especially Athena! The store is clean, organized, and really well set up to direct foot traffic. I feel like because of the space, an extra fitting room would be nice, considering how busy this place gets. But I really like this location, and would come back in a heart beat. If you buy over I think $50 worth, you get a 40% off coupon to their sister store, Blackheart. Since there is one in the same mall, that's tally convenient! read more

It was crowded and over-packed with goods, so I couldn't stand being there for long. But there was a lot of cool merchandise. I would have purchased at least a couple shirts but for some reason they stocked every size except small. Oh well, it was fun to browse anyway. read more

I work across the street so I come to the Spectrum for lunch everyday. Before heading back to work I always stop by this Hot Topic to see if there are any new Pops! that they have gotten in. I'm a huge collector of Pops! so having this store so so close is awesome. As a Hot Topic store, I would say its just like any other Hot Topic you see in California. Has a lot of comic stuff now along with Disney apparel for both guys and girls. The customer service is what you would come to expect. Nothing terrible, but also nothing amazing either. When it comes to Pops! though, this is where the store starts to shine a little more to me. This Hot Topic always seems to get the newest and exclusive Pops! fast and often. They are stocked with the general commons that you see at most stores but when new Hot Topic exclusives come out or the new set of Avengers: Age of Ultron series start to roll out, this store always gets them first and in good numbers. They tend to restock them fairly often too. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE TODAY! When asked to be let in the fitting room we had a staff member yell I'm waiting on someone, I will be there in a minute. She then came back to the fitting room in a huff without saying a word. When asked if she was the only one working in the store she said that her manager was there also, again yelling and acting like we were bothering her. Why didn't she have the manager open the fitting room instead of making customers wait, why is she in such a hurry, why is she yelling? She then went on to move items in the store around and say that she is getting started and wasn't looking forward to doing it. This was a very uncomfortable environment to shop in. We have came here before and have never seen such things happen. We could not get her name as it is not listed on the receipt and we saw no name tag visible. This girl with the blue hair really gave us a BAD EXPERIENCE. This is sad as now we will have to shop somewhere else considering we buy a lot here for ourselves and gifts and have spent thousands with Hot Topic! read more

A lady of my age needs a little help picking out some things my daughter might like to wear. Well the items I bought were not to her liking. I normally don't go into Hot Topic. However, I saw some Disney merchandise located inside the store. I went head over heels over the Lilo and Stich merchandise. The staff were very friendly and helpful . I ended up buying green sun glasses and a Lilo and Stich wallet. I can see myself shopping here again. read more

Hot Topic has always been one of my favorite stores to shop at!!! The employees are always nice, and the selection of stuff is great! I could literally spend $500 in a minute there because of the variety of great products they have. Things like music, funny and cute shirts and buttons, jewelry, the best hair accessories, adorable pajamas, and the coolest pants! It's one of the most unique stores you will every find! One con about it though, prices are a little high, but it's worth it! They need to have more sales there!!! read more

I'm not entirely sure why I still find myself aimlessly wandering around this store at my age. Perhaps it's out of habit rather than actual interest in their merchandise. I don't feel like part of their target demographic anymore, and it feels... I don't know, wrong, maybe, to enter a store that so blatantly touts enough Twilight merch to outfit a high school class. But I do come across a rare gem or two from time to time. A sweet Iron Maiden shirt, some cool stickers, an exclusive CD... there's some marginally good stuff to be found here, but I don't know if it outweighs the potential shame of exiting the premises and being spotted by someone I know. The look of disdain on both parties' faces would be difficult to hide. Plus, the employees here are really goddamn annoying. I'll admit it, I'm a know-it-all when it comes to movies and metal music, so it pains me to have some pierced-up rag doll on my ass asking about the "cool shirt" I'm wearing or trying to relate to me on some other level, like we're part of some special esoteric group or something. Just get back to listening to Insane Clown Posse and pricing Marilyn Manson tube socks; I don't need the assistance. It's bad enough I know I'm in the store, your acknowledgement of my presence only makes me feel worse. read more

I went into hot topic for a specific reason, to find the blue Elsa dress and the skater Ana dress in my size. I walk in and start looking around. Their is a lady working the front ( where all the Disney stuff is). I keep looking around and notice she is greeting everyone walking in. I did not get a greeting and mind that I was right next to her. She was a petite frame and I am on the curvier side. I just keep minding my own business and see that there is only one Elsa dress left and it was on display, I look and see the size is a size medium. I am normally a L to an XL, but at times I do fit in M, it really just depends on the cloths. I ask the lady if I could take it off the mannequin and try it on. She looks at the tag and then proceeds to look me up and down and says " It's a medium" In probably the snobbiest voice I have heard. I was offended. I mean i know I am on the thicker side, but she doesn't need to pretty much acknowledged it to me like that. I went ahead and tried it on, and it fit perfectly! I did not buy it because I felt so bad about myself. I just couldn't believe how rude she seemed to come off, especially sense Hot topic is known for selling plus sized items. They should really have people in their that do not judge critically and make the customers feel uncomfortable like she did to me. Over all I do not EVER want to go back into that hot topic. read more
