I absolutely love Melin and their hats. I've been a Melin fan for about 2 years now I think. This is my 3rd time at the store and it's such a cool little spot in beautiful Laguna Beach. I had the pleasure of meeting the store manager Noel Ortega and known him for a total of maybe 20 minutes and I feel like I've known this dude all my life, such a great person to talk to, I feel like we're best friends lol. I highly recommend if you're in Laguna beach to stop by and buy a hat and tell Noel, " Norman says hi" haha. Stopped by tonight to purchase a gift for someone. As a Melin fanatic myself, it was cool to finally visit one of their storefronts. I was helped by Noel (sp?) and he was incredibly informative, helpful, and just a super chill dude. I own 10+ hats and if you're concerned about their high prices, just know they are worth every penny and then some. I've had hats for years already that still look new. I like Melin hats, though they are definitely very expensive even considering their quality. This review is for the Laguna Beach store. I went out of my way to visit the Laguna Beach store on my lunch hour. When I arrived, there was just a sign on the door saying that they would be right back. I walked around for a bit and went back. The same sitcky note was on the door, but an employee was inside looking at his phone. His chair is right next to the front window and he clearly saw me looking in. He did not even have the courtesy to open the door or explaing when they were going to open back up. He just looked up and then right back down to looking at his phone. Very unprofessional to say the least. I understand that he could have been on his lunch or break, but at least put a sign on the door stating when you will be opening again and acknowledge your potential customers. Needless to say, I did not purchase a hat that day. read more

My husband and I drove over an hour from LA to purchase the Coronado neon hats because we wanted to see the neon colorin person prior to purchasing them...was a little sad that they were all sold out at the store. The staff there was wearing the yellow neon hat and fortunately that was the color that my husband was looking for so at least we were able to see that the color was the same as shown on their website. The staff, we didn't get his name, was very helpful and assured us that we would be able to purchase it at the store and get it shipped to our home. He helped my husband with finding the right size for the hat and helped us order it online. My husband has several Melin hats and we love them; he wears them almost daily and I wear his if I'm having a bad hair day and need to step out for a second. Melin hats are a little pricey but considering their design and quality, we think it's worth it. read more

Noel was one of the nicest and coolest sales person. He made my 6 year old son feel cool trying in hats. But the reason I came to here to write a review is because I wanted to Thank Noel again for being so kind to me. I recent lost my all around black hat that I love. I love that the whole is black even inside and under. Melon right now doesn't have any hả all black like I wanted , except Noel was wearing the exact one that I want. It is a special edition and no near future date of restocking. After I kept talking about how I reallly wanted all black , and I'm sure I was being super annoying with how particular I was, Noel was patient the whole time while still helping my son and other customers. When I went to check out for my sonMs hat and settled for a somewhat all black hat for myself, mean while still mumbling about how I just want to have a hat like his. Noel then said : "if you realllyy want it, and it does sound like you do, I can give my hat to you. You can have it". I thought he was joking but he wasn't. I offered to pay him for it he declined, I offered to buy him a new hat, he also declined. I know I sound super annoying for being sooo anal about a hat but I realllyyyy wanted it. so I kept the hat but bought more. And will bring my daughter and husband back to get more from Noel too.
