I like coming here. They are a block up from Thalia Street on PCH. I like that whenever we come here, the people working are nice and friendly. I love that they have a sale rack in the back. The shop has a lot of stuff. They're own branded items are always good quality and look good. They have a ton of other brands to choose from if you do not like their stuff. The best things about this shop are convenience, their branded style clothing, and the sale rack. That the people working here are always nice is just icing on the cake. read more

We weren't greeted as soon as we walked in. We looked straight at the male employee and he looked right back at us. We said "hello" to no response. This employee then walked to the other door and started locking it up. We had no idea that they were closing soon, but we of course took that as a sign that they were closing soon. We were in there for less than 8 min (I wanna say we were in there for about 5 min) because we didn't want to be an inconvenience. We looked at some stuff and said thank you before we left, but the employee did not respond at all. He was probably having a bad day? I will say it does not hurt to greet customers. Other than that, great selections of products - definitely worth checking out. read more

Great shop, tons of amazing inventory, we bought several items, but when we asked for help on some shoe sizes we got rejected, the shop was not busy and the employees let us know that "customers mix up the sizes, so whatever is there is there". Anyway, we tried to call the manager before posting this review, but got voicemail. love the shop, but we would have spent an extra $100+ if we got some help on shoe sizes. Your classic Seinfeld episode. " you can take the reservation but you can't keep the reservation". My wife and I traveled from New Hampshire to visit my elderly parents in Fullerton. My wife took up surfing a few years earlier and as our anniversary was this week I thought I would surprise her with surfing lessons for us both. I called the shop a few weeks earlier and made reservations. We showed up and was told the instructor just left. The person running the shop texted him but he said he couldn't turn around ( probably did not want to). Then either the owner or another person called him and he still wouldn't turn around. I am assuming the owner of this shop opened as he/she loves surfing and wanted to make a living sharing their sport. I made reservations, stayed over another night ($275 hotel) and we took another vacation day. Did the person behind the desk offer to give us the lesson? Did the women behind the desk offer? Did the owner offer? No, all that was offered was a discount on anything in the store. I asked if they knew of any other shops for lessons. He replied " no, you need a reservation "( now that's funny). This means the owner, instructor or the gm did not look in the reservation booklet. ( we saw it we were the only reservation). How awesome would this review be if we showed up and found that the instructor left but someone else stepped us to do what the shop was opened to do (serve their customers). A classic fail. I hope the owner teaches the employees what "business" really means. read more

By far the best alternative surf shop in California! Located right on PCH, a little less than a mile south from the Laguna Village and Main Beach. Nick (the owner) and Corey (shop mgr) are the coolest guys around, and are always stoked to welcome you into the timeless, laid-back vibe of the California Surf/Art/Pop culture that they share through the shop. The instructor left and did not give the lesson. They got screwed and ripped off. Do not trust and ever use this guy. Walked in with my son. We decided to go to the beach and jump in the water. Didn't have shorts so found this small surf spot. We like to support local. They have a great variety of clothes. I was going to buy shorts and saw some great shirts also. Didn't get acknowledged when we walked in, no biggie.. We walked around looking at the merch. Walked towards the counter and nothing.. Two people back there.. Saw my son and I and no acknowledgement or offer assistance.. Not sure why, but this bugs me for some reason as a business owner myself. First visited this store while on vacation in Laguna Beach a few years back. Loved it so much that my fiancé and I made it a point to make another trip to the store while in town again the next year for a wedding. In addition to their amazing physical store, their online store is easy to navigate and the product selection is the same as in store. Overall my fiancé and I love this store and everything they do from the collabs with vans, to their own merch, to the amazing customer service. I can only rate these guys for their clothing selection, but they have killer Thaia Surf logo shirt/hoodie/hat selection. Very cool fabrics and graphic designs of their logo, perfect for gifts. On the t-shirts, at least 15+ design options. Also a great selection of hoodies, beanies and caps. Helpful and friendly staff too. It's a fairly small shop but packed with lots of stuff. read more

The board rental policy sucks. A one day rental is only for the hours the shop is open. I picked up a board at 12pm and returned it at 9am the next morning and they charged me a 2 day rental ($90). I had the board for less than a full day and They wouldn't make an exception. Just a lame policy for surfers that want to surf in the early morning before the shop opens. read more

Great place for flip-flops and harder to find surf style brands. Whenever in Laguna and in need of style or gear I make it my business to come buy. Very good staff. They are all surfers themselves or at least know about what they are selling which makes it easier to talk to them and they know how to advise you. Not like some places where the saleperson doesn't know anything about the merchandise. It's an underestimated but important attribute. Prices are higher than I'd like but surf shops seem to be the "mode" right now and this is a general trend so not unique to them. read more

Nice little surf shop on the main drag in Laguna. The staff was really friendly and helpful, none of that "cooler than you" vibe you can find at other shops. They've got a great selection of beautiful hand shaped boards to feast your eyes on...and of course buy if you're in the market. The first time I visited the prices were extremely high but this last time the prices were reasonable. Aside from the surf gear, they've got the clothes, footwear, DVDs you expect to find in a surf shop, but are definitely focused on the alternative/local surf scene. There's a Vans store adjacent to the shop that has the big brands, but the Thalia side of the shop pretty much just has independent designs, which is cool. Their house brand shirts are cool and INCREDIBLY comfy. I picked up a t-shirt there (buy one get one 1/2 off) and it has since become my most favorite of all time! Score :) read more

I really like the guys that work here. I've been debating on getting a new retro fish surfboard and they gave me such good advice. I definitely will be going with a quad fin when I decide to get a new board. The girls selection is a little skimpy, but I did find a cute matching top to go with my new pink shorts. The best surf shop in So Cal- definitely coolest in Laguna Beach! Original designs with real style- Wow! From boards to clothing-This place IS cool. When you glance around the shop, you quickly notice this is not your average OC surf shop. I would expect to see many of these hip stylings in Ditch Plains (Montauk) or even Williamsburg! We stumbled upon this place 3 years ago when looking for a wetsuit while visiting Laguna. I found a retro-styled woman's one piece that I get compliments on whenever I wear it. Their designs are originals - not mass produced- the real thing! They also offer surf lessons (wetsuit & board incl) with one of Laguna's surf guru - he really great with kids- teaches as young as 5 yr olds and they LOVE him! Thalia often has local art or clothing launch parties on Thursday or Friday eves that attract a really cool crowd! Thalia Surf Shop IS what's happening. read more
