I was in dire need of a nice new t-shirt, and PJ's delivered a performance for the ages. I've had a sweet, very comfortable shirt (worn regularly) for 3 years with little signs of wear. This place is cool and affordable! -no one ever that isnt a bot. This old man (probably the owner/manager) and his employees kicked me out of this corner store called PJ's because he thought i was homeless for some reason (i fell in some wet sand while wearing all white so i went to that store to buy something new). so long story short, i got out and told him the store wasnt a fit for me and i was going to go to Boardwalk instead. Turns out both stores share the same shriveled up pay from their overpriced cheap goods that were made in china. So I get to Boardwalk and they immediately tell me to get out because the old man called that store and "warned" them about me. I took a stop at NCC (Newport Coffee Co.) and scrolled on youtube shorts contemplating if i should or shouldnt call the cops on that man. So I did a little later. I Filed a Harrasment and discrimination complaint and the police sent someone over to me. Me and the cop talked for some time and walked over to the old man. He gave the man a notice, a fine, and a suspension. After that, the cop offered me some coffe and ice cream. At the time, I felt a little peckish, so I agreed. Turns out, my mom's friend that works at the NCC had followed us unknowingly and didnt charge us. So after that, we all parted ways and I contunued to sell my drawings (even though I was totally embarassed), and scraped up something temporary since I no longer felt up to the task. read more

Best place to go for flip flops. Only place I purchase from. I fly down from Seattle multiple times a year and make sure I stop in to get a new pair. This is a must go to when I'm in town. Poor customer service I would not recommend this surf shop. We purchased a full price quicksilver clothing item 2 weeks ago, It fell apart after one wash and is unusable. The store would not exchange or return it and was very unfriendly about the request. There's lots of other surf shops in OC, go elsewhere. read more

Yelp doesn't lie... my husband and I yelped "flip flops" cause he really needed a pair and best bet. They had a great selection of flip flops from quicksilver to rainbow. I love this place. They have great products, shirts, sandals, backpacks (I have boughton 2 here so far), stickers, souvenirs, etc. All name brand and high quality. No knock offs or cheap look alikes. This is always a must go for me when I come to Newport. Very clean, the employees are very young but always friendly and helpful. They dont hover over you or stare at you awkwardly. Great place on the Newport boardwalk for beach essentials. They carry clothes, flip-fops, beach umbrellas, swim suits, skateboards, etc. Just a walk from the Beach Ball and Blackie's. Found great dresses for beach cover-ups. They had Rainbow sandals on sale. read more

This is a pretty cool place to get surf and skate gear by the pier. They have a nice selection and would say they would be a mini version of Jacks Surd Shop or HSS. Their prices are the same as the other top 2, just less of a selection. read more

New Port was my second home growing up and PJs was a part of it. Well I moved out of the country awhile back. A couple weeks ago i retuned with my 7 month old daughter and mom to reminisce. Well PJs was a part of that. I wanted to get something for my daughter so she can look back and remember. Well I walked around trying to find the perfect item. My mom bought some items for family,as she always does. Well when we went to the register i saw their small surf board and instantly fell in love but was bummed because I didn't think I could get it all the back to Europe without it breaking. Well the guys behind the counter said we can make it work. Whats an address that we can ship it to? If we can ship internationally to through UPS well send the one you want out today. Well we couldn't figure it out so they said we got this. One of the guys went to the back and come out with a box. They packaged it for me flat and taped it up really well. Well in the end it got to Europe safely lasting in my heck in being thrown from language carousel to carousel. I am so pleased that they went above and beyond to make this happen. I've been a lifetime customer and will continue to be. WHY I GAVE ONLY 4 STARS! Sadly though the ladies in the front setting up displays were of no help, really rude and could care less about the customers. I tried to ask them questions several times and they just ignored us. So sad. I know they have a job to do but part of that it helping the customer as well. Make sure the guys help you the ladies were just rude and careless. read more
