Carne asada fries
Susie W.

El Paso's vegan scene is hard to come across but Lick it up is a gem. The atmosphere is definitely different but in a good way. It's located inside of a bar. You order at a window, take your seat and wait. We ordered "carne" asada fries and tacos. It was delicious. Since we are newbies to Vegan food the chef was not shy on sharing about how the food was prepared. It was delicious! Can't wait to go back!

A blue tank top that apparently breaks the dress code of Lick It Up
Mitch M.

Claims to be a casual bar, but I was told I couldn't order a drink because I was wearing a standard blue tank top. I had a T-shirt thrown over my shoulder that I'd just bought from Church Bar just down the street and they told me I'd have to wear it if I wanted to stay. Apparently they'd rather have me advertise for a competitor than wear a regular brandless tank top. Yelp says this place is casual, and literally shows a tank top icon to represent that. If you're looking to just chill out and meet some locals someplace close after landing at Paso Del Norte, skip this place and go to Church Bar.

My wife and I had plant base food before but this place. Lick it up, has the best of the best plant base food ever. Phenomenal!!!!! The meat taste like straight meat. Can't even tell it's plant base food! Like wooow! First time in El Paso Texas and find this place. Best bar food I ever had in my entire life! I recommend everyone to try this out even if you aren't into plant base! Please visit this place! Call ahead or show up ahead because the line is crazy!

Load fries

Oh so good! My husband is vegan and I'm not but everything was still oh so good! Of course he loved everything. The loaded fries, yum! And they give you good size portions!

Vegan and Mexican food Vegan and El Paso is a tough find! Amen we have a yummy place to go to. Recently, my husband and I have gone vegetarian and have seen health benefits of it. But we are so tired of just getting cheese enchiladas and guacamole tacos everywhere. When we have that craving for our El Paso roots. Not to mention everything probably has chicken broth as a base. We can now get flautas, nachos, and gorditas. Yay!! Woohoo. So filling and so yum! Be prepared it is located inside a super cool trendy, repurposed, old building. You walk into a bar and wonder did I go wrong somewhere. Nope, it's in the back, just go to the window and they will bring it to you. Wherever, you choose to sit outside on balcony 3rd floor or 2nd floor small but warm in the winter. Or 1st floor with plenty of outlets if you are a solo diner. I always look for outlets. Drinks are ordered at the bar they have fountain drinks and so many specialty craft cocktails! Downtown parking is fine plenty of free spaces 3 blocks down!

The small order of nachos. Probably missing about 5 chips

Has potential but didn't hit the mark. Pros: Tasty food! Had the nachos and a side of fries! Some staff was helpful Cons: Portion of food you get for the price you pay is RIDICULOUS! Nachos was $14 and it came on a paper tray(imagine ordering a hotdog from a baseball game) that wasn't even filled to the top.... Fries were $4 and I we got legit like 9 fries! NOT WORTH IT! The bar guy there this afternoon was super not helpful. The app doesn't let you modify your order like not having a specific Ingredient on your food, so i walked up to the bartender to let him know I wanted to take off a specific ingredient and his response was an eye roll and said "well I'm at the bar and your going to need to go to the window to tell them" OK SIR...first time here and I had NO IDEA THERE WAS A WINDOW in the first place. Like another comment mentioned. They have to realize most people haven't done ordering from their phones and what customer service means.... So all in all would I come back? NO... Between the bartender acting like I'm dumb, and the mouse like portions for the price, I wouldn't waste my money here....

Located inside the international bar, this is a hidden gem with great vegetarian and meat friendly options. My favorite item was the black bean flautas. Great place for fun food and drinks!

We visited Lick It Up on a Saturday around 1pm. It wasn't busy and we were able to grab a seat right away. We ordered through their website and the food was brought to us when it was ready, but other than that we didn't really see any staff. We had an early dinner planned so I grabbed an adobada taco and chips and salsa. Everything was delicious! The salsas added so much flavor to the already flavorful taco. The texture of the taco was also fabulous between the tortilla, the protein, and the fresh veggies. Definitely recommend!

The restaurant

I had really wanted to try this place for a long time and I finally got the opportunity to. We drove downtown to the restaurant, which I knew was already within another restaurant/bar. from the outside, the place looks like it's deserted or under construction. When I walked in I saw the tables and chairs put up on the counter with some pick up boxes sitting on the counter. We went back to the car and ordered online and the food was ready in about 10 minutes. I had read other reviews that the food was very salty and unfortunately that was my case as well. The meat was very tasty but it was extremely salty. We only ordered two tacos just to check out the place. The sauces were really tasty and spicy. Please decrease your salt level! I won't be able to come back because of that. I wish I could continue to come here because it's really good, just too dang salty.

We ordered the Steak Frites, Brussels sprouts, the burger, cocktails, and finished with the peach cobbler and every single thing was amazing. The food, the ambiance, the service, and the hospitality were all top-notch. Our server was wonderful, but what really made the experience stand out was how welcoming everyone was. The owner stopped by our table to say hello and ask how we were enjoying everything, and even brought us some shots. The chef also came out to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. Those little personal touches made the experience feel so special. We were visiting from Colorado, and honestly, this was probably one of the highlights of our trip! There's just something so enjoyable about great food, good conversation, and meeting wonderful locals along the way. I'm not sure when, or if we'll make it back to El Paso, but I would absolutely come back just to eat here again. If you're in the area, you truly can't go wrong with Oak & Antler!

I had a watermelon, mint and tequila cocktail that was as advertised, "summer in a glass!" The comes a braised short rib and Oregon Pinot Noir - both to die for. The puree under the ribs and pumpkin seeds made all the textures and tastes wonderful. (And shame on me. I was so excited by that plate I forgot to take a picture!!) Nooow add in my server, Solomon, and it's nearly a party! But then... here comes the Chef to check on me, and his name?? FREEDOM!! Just soak that in! This is a can't miss spot if you're in El Paso.

If it's not too busy, the staff are usually very personal / happy to talk to you. - Great vibes - my favorite is usually the main tiki room and its booths, but the outside patio can be really nice as well - Food - portion sizes vary a good bit, so I recommend telling the how hungry you are and/or asking about portions. If you have the right expectations, I think you'll enjoy the food. I've liked all the food I've had, and so did my companions. Great Bourbon Selection & Outstanding Service…read more I've visited Tibor's several times, and I highly recommend it. The service has been spectacular every time--friendly, attentive, and consistently welcoming. If you're a bourbon enthusiast, this place is definitely worth checking out. They have an impressive bourbon selection, including allocated bottles at surprisingly reasonable prices, which can be hard to find. My wife and daughter really enjoy the craft cocktails, so there's something here even if bourbon isn't your thing. Great service, great drinks, and fair prices. Take a look at the bourbon selection--you won't be disappointed.

I've never had food here (I don't actually recall a food menu), but I've enjoyed beer and cocktails here. Nothing super memorable, but all good. The service has always been fine, but also not memorable. My 4 stars are for the overall vibe/ambiance, the varied seating options and good drinks. This is the kind of place that has a happy-to-stumble-into evening cafe kind of vibe. Especially if there's music. p.s. I've read the comment from the owner, but I looked at photos again carefully and I have the right establishment. I am a local and know the area. I've definitely seen live music here (I can add that it's been more than a year.) Perhaps there's been a change of ownership since then? Otherwise, I'd say that there are things occurring at the business of which you're not aware.
