The worst experience I've had in the two years I've been here. Horrible service; I had to ask for everything, from utensils to napkins. When the food arrived, it was disgusting. We got up, walked inside, and I told them I wanted to pay my bill and that I wasn't going to eat the food they brought me because it was uneatable. Clásico is a classic example of El Paso food where it is overhyped with awards to finally be tasted and be mediocre at best. Food: I got the Vaquera Burger which was recommend by our waiter (who was barely there) and it was just okay. The burger patty itself was not seasoned well and a little over cooked. The other meat was the tastiest part of the burger but had zero wow factor. The side Caesar Salad I ordered was laughably small and barely had any dressing on it. Atmosphere: The outside patio area looked nice but the misters are aggressively spewing out mist to the point that some tables were literally drenched. I understand El Paso is hot but come on. Overall: It was just okay. Seems like a good burger. Heard I should have ordered their tacos but don't expect much after this 1st experience. Clásico Kitchen and Bar's quality has gone down over the past year. The first time I went, in December 2022, it was really good, I just felt like we have been sleeping on this place lots. Now, we didn't have an exceptional experience. To start off, we were seated quickly, which was convenient. Our tostadas were somewhat greasier than normal tostadas. They took forever for our food, especially one of our cheeseburgers. The burger was drenched in cheese, it ruined the taste. The place was clean, full of reminders to tag them on social media. I was hungry and this is the closest place to my Hotel. The initial impression, service slow, the waitress's like to chat among themselves, instead of attending customers. I ordered the "Habana Burger" for "Takeout", as you can see the presentation is not overwhelming (see pic), the fries are semi-soggy and the burger looked like it was dead "don't eat me" (see pic). The onion cuts are big, too big to put on the burger. Not sure the "cook" follow the original intent of the burger. Sincerely no heart in the cooking, just a paycheck. I felt like a burger today and we went out as family to eat, but both Chase the Taste West and Leo's was closed when we got there even though Google Maps said they're open. ‍ I'm not even mad because We ended up at Clasico Kitchen Bar and I didn't know it was so close to us! Even hubby was impressed with how homey it felt and he was already hangry. It was PACKED with locals since it has a good happy hour and a lot of the cars at Leo's went to the next lot where Clasico was. The waitresses were so nice and accommodating even though they were slammed. They seated us at first at a small table but moved us to a larger table once others left so that our food can fit. I got a mango chamoy drink with lemonade since I didn't feel like beer. It took a while to get our drinks but they didn't forget us, they were just really busy. I got a Clasico burger and it came with onion rings, I jazzed it up with bbq sauce and put some onion rings in the burger and it was fabulous. Buns were still a problem, but again that might be a Texas soft bread thing. I just wish the buns can stand up to sauce and won't disintegrate. Hubby got the Norteno and he said it was bland. I told him that's why they gave you condiments, you dress it up the way you want. They didn't have chicken strips so we got the boneless wings and the kids didn't like them, since they were over fried, but they devoured the fries, which were perfect and we got them a basket of extra fries. They were still hungry and I had to make them a pizza later on that night, thank goodness for GoPuff delivery. I think that it's a great place for afterwork drinks and their happy hour prices are really good. The service was one of the best I've received in a bar like environment. They also have a drive thru! Apparently they dropped the price on their Lindeman's framboise - Which is kinda of hard to find back in my hometown. While on our way back to California we booked an overnight in El Paso. Classico Kitchen and Bar was within Walking distance of our hotel and since the front desk recommended it we decided to try it. My husband ordered the Classic burger with Onion rings. He said it was just OK. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and what I was served was grilled chicken on top of green leaf lettuce, No parmasean cheese in sight and a side of ceaser dressing so thick it could not be poured on top of the salad. The cook decided to swap out green leaf lettuce because they were out of Romain lettuce. Really??? . I was expecting a Caesar salad and when I told the waitress about the salad she told me they were out of Romane lettuce so the cook swapped it out. Not cool! . I asked if I could change it for the lunch size spinach cranberry salad with grilled chicken. Again the order was not accurate. I was served and charged for a large salad and there were so many cranberries piled in the salad it wasn't appetizing. The salad was supposed to be served with walnuts and there were no walnuts in sight. Again the thick raspberry vinegerette dressing was so thick it could not be mixed into the salad.. The waitress was awesome and very accomodating in spite of all the changes. My opinion is the management needs to retrain the cook on the menu items and be sure to advise the customers of any daily changes to the menu. Im giving it 3 stars only because of the waitress. The food is mediocre at best and over priced. If you want a beer and to watch sports games in a small bar type restaurant then this is your place otherwise don't waste your money. Living on the border of Mexico.. I RARELY indulge in Mexican cuisine. Honestly I'd rather stop in at a Taco Cabana when I need a quick Mexi-fix.. and somehow I always find myself at Carlos and Mickey's any time I'm in the airport. BUT. Before I deployed last year, Clasico advertisements were EVERYWHERE with pics of Toro Eggs. So, of course.. I had to have them. Jalapeño and cream cheese and then wrap that bad boy in bacon! Money! Also ordered the queso fundido with green chilis and chorizo. I was about to say "Can't go wrong there".. but then I remembered a trip to Barigas.. and yes, you can go wrong there, luckily NOT at Clasico though. Again, Money! My sister and I ordered two different types of tacos so we could share, sirloin topped with chiles and cheese for me and pastor (pork) with grilled pineapples for her, and the bro in law got something with Brisket. It was all pretty dang good.. but the Brisket was the bomb.com... they all come with a cup of onions and cilantro (yuck and yuck) and also some salsa (mine had green, theirs had red), avocado sauce, cucumbers, and hotdog beans (lol - charro beans) For a gal who doesn't do the Mexi-foodz around here.. The food in this place was actually good. The tacos were set up in a way that the tortillas laid bellow all the sautés mushrooms so they were all soggy. Nothing bad with making your own taco but the placement of the tortillas was unfavorable since they would tend to break easily. The fries on the other hand were almost perfect. They didn't feel greasy and tasted so good but the ketchup comes in packages so it takes away from it. They didn't deliver all of our plates at the same time so some of us were left without a plate while the rest waited for our plates too as their food began to cool. I noticed the taco orders came with salsas and other condiments but when they delivered mine none of that came. Took a while to get a hold of our waiter and then they told me they do that only if you ask...who eats tacos without condiments and salsa? But oh well. The ambiance was good because they had the football match I wanted to see on all the screens. Being a large party we didn't have to wait to be seated so that's a plus. Parking was also good and all of this on a Saturday night. A real shame because the food is good and prices are competitive, it's the service and some logistics that bring the rating down in my opinion.
