Nasty ,place ,nasty people, will never go back the lady in the cash register is a bitch the server was cool but the food sucked ...tasteless and bland. read more

Food was horrible and service was worse. Steer clear of this place if you're looking for food with flavor

Love La Malinche Cafe. This is an authentic Mexican Ranchero cafe restaurant that serves good buritos, sandwiches and burgers as well as a well priced lunch. Today, I had some fish soup, steak ranchero and tea for $11.99. So definitely a great value. Located at the State Line retail center close to the horse track and Sundland Park this is local gem on the westside. Service is friendly and focused. read more

Decent food, good value/prices, service was friendly even though a little slow. Docking an extra star because of cleanliness (found an eyelash in my food.) Got the small menudo (only available Saturdays and Sundays). The small was more than enough. The two pieces of bread it came with were really good. However, I was adding the side of onions into my soup and noticed that there was an eyelash in there.. which was kinda gross. My husband got the bacon and egg breakfast burrito. It was surprisingly big since it was so cheap. Not too impressed with the flavor though - it was bland and a little dry. read more

Our waiter was the only good thing about this restaurant. The food was gross. My niece ordered a burger that was the only good thing. Her fries were under cooked. Red rice was undercooked. Never had chicken fajitas like this before. Oh the he's s we're good. The red enchiladas sauce tasted like from the can. I would avoid this place. Also way overpriced for what we got. read more

Great breakfast place! Good was hot and service was great! I have the huevos rancheros and hubs had a burrito. So good! Salsa was really good! read more

My local friend recommended this place if i wanted "real Mexican food" while i was in town. The huevos rancheros were absolutely fantastic and like no other I have had before. I'm used to them being in a red sauce but whatever sauce they created was amazing. The staff was super sweet and the decor was nice with cool lanterns hung around the restaurant. read more

Good food. Friendly staff. The restaurant felt a little dirty but nothing to worry about, I would recommend

Did not really care for the place , the tortilla chips served at table were very salty and not really fresh. The drinking cups are so old cracks around the rims. The plates are old food doesn't look pleasant with cracks on them. I wouldn't recommend this place . Guacamole not appealing . Maybe some of the food is good . They need to train servers with more hospitality . Upgrade the dinner plates ,drinking cups and so on..... read more

Looking for an authentic mexican breakfast? This is the place. I use to visit this place every couple of weeks when I lived in El Chuco and still hit it when in town. Great price, service and food! read more

the green chilaquiles where so bad I do not recommend. The meat that came with it was a so dry and hard, my teeth started to hurt. The chilaquiles were very watery and all you could taste is wet pieces of chips. You can barely taste the green chile sauce. Service is the only thing that was good. This place is always full. read more

A fabulous place for brunch (and or dinner ) We all had the A La Mexicana, I had steak picada (chopped into small pieces. I think it comes with scrambled eggs but you can get it any way. I would rate this place a solid 4 but the ambience was a 2. The food and service was very good. So let's say 3.5 stars. The price was pretty amazingly low. To the owner...Remodel and raise prices by $2.00 You might lose some regulars that only eat there for the price but keep those recipes and you will keep those who love the food and gain a lot more new ones. Dont change the staff training. They are spot on for service with a smile. Made us feel very welcome. Best wishes. read more

Decent strip center restaurant. I ordered a fajita burrito and it was just meat and tortilla. Usually burritos have beans or lettuce or some kind of other filling. I had to order a side of refried beans. The service was good and the food tasted fine. Only disappointing thing is that they did not have Mexican Cokes or Topo Chico. read more

The chicken taco plate is outstanding! The service fast and friendly. I come here often and the cooking is good. The best fries in town and the cheeseburger wonderful. Good place for breakfast OR lunch. I will be back. read more

I haven't been to this location on the west side in years since right before my mom passed but she used to drive from the east side all the way down (nothings far in EP) there to get menudo to go and it was a treat every time we were in town. She used to take my two daughters there when they were younger and would spend summers with her and they always got the same thing every time they went. One was red cheese enchilada's and the other was a guacamole burrito with extra cheese. My sister has been back since and says menudo is just as good as ever. Great memories. read more

If you are regular hungry do not order the Mexican omelette plate, it's more like a child's menu size. And very bland. The omelette was 2" wide and 7" in length, yes I measured it. But they do add one half SLICE of cheese though! read more

Just got the worst huevos rancheros served with nacho cheese on top Can you imagine!! Plus the cashier was very rude when I mentioned my disappointment about the plate! I'm given only 2 stars because the waitress was very sweet and helpful But for the food and cashier is a 0 This happend at the one on Sunland Park dr and Doniphan. read more

The food is amazing. It honestly tastes like somebody's Grandma or Auntie is in the back cooking in their own kitchen.

Food wise the place was good at best but I would never return. The service is the worst I have experienced. It was Sunday so I expect it to be busy but we sat down at a table that was dirty. It took about 20 minutes for someone to clean our table. People who came in after us were being served looking around there were many tables that weren't being helped. I went to speak to the hostess. I asked if there was a waitress assigned to us. She was the rudest hostess ever. I didn't get her name but she is an older lady with lighter hair. Everything I asked was met with a rude reply. She ended up serving us and it was not a pleasant experience. I would have left but my Mother who has limited mobility didn't want to F ind somewhere else. We are from out of town This restaurant deserves better than that hostess. read more

I'm a big fan of La Malinche but I must confess I like the one on Brook Hollow just a tad more than the others although if you ask me why I won't be able to give you a good answer. It's one of those je ne sais quoi things. The service and food at all of them is excellent and I've never had a single less than perfect moment. Maybe the plate just looked a little emptier at this one. It was no less filling or satisfying. Maybe it was the lack of chips and salsa to start or maybe I was still grumbling about having a tough time finding a close parking spot. Maybe they should hang some Mexican style decorations or play some Mexican mood music. Well I still like it and I'm glad to have one on the west side. I think they'll get the fifth star when I go back on a weekday and can park next to the front door. read more

Was looking for a good bowl of menudo. It was perfect here. I had a cup of coffee as well, but tasted a little watered down, maybe it was just a bad brew. Friendly staff, I will definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more

They don't care for business and turn customers away. Go somewhere else that is happy to see customers and attend to them.

Used to like going to this place but their service and care for good food has greatly decreased. I will no longer go to this restaurant. I went to exchange a plate they gave and all they did was place fresh sauce on it but gave me the same food. Disgusting people, I also reported them to the health department. read more

We have been eating at this location for many years. The service is always very friendly and attentive. The food is pretty consistent with quality and taste. I don't normally write bad reviews; if the place is bad I may tell a few people and not go back. However, I thought I would send a word of caution out. We visited on 12/26. Service was great the food looked good too. My husband's taco order was wrong in that they made them with corn tortillas instead of four. If it hadn't been for that my husband's tacos wouldn't have fallen apart from sogginess. He was eating the pieces with the fork when he discovered an entire cockroach in the chicken meat of his taco. The owner was apologetic and said he would cancel the order. We promptly left without causing a scene. Maybe this wouldn't be a big deal to some considering most restaurants have pests roaming around the kitchen but you should really keep it out of the food. We'll miss this place, but we can't stomach going back. read more

We recently went on a road trip to Mexico and en route, passed through EP. We were all very hungry for a Mexican-style breakfast and so my handy Yelp app helped me locate this restaurant. Great find! My in-laws are pretty particular when it comes to "mexican food".. being that they are.. . and I got plenty of kudos from them for this "great find" for them. They are now adding it to their routine whenever they travel through EP. First things first.. it was busy.. a good sign that the locals like it and support it. Some of the clientele knew eachother and so did the staff and clientele - good sign. Next was the flavor of the food. Hubby got machaca and I got the steak with eggs and FIL got the enchiladas... we were all eating from eachother's plate - everything was very flavorful, cooked freshly and very filling. Staff seem under-equipped (being that it was quite busy) since I only saw 2 or 3 servers, but they were on the ball - quick with orders and quick with any requests. We were delighted to have had a tasty and filling meal with quick service in an obviously much-enjoyed establishment. read more

El Paso has some very good Mexican restaurants, and La Malinche is not an exception. However, two very important items separates this restaurants from many others. First, the friendly staff, and secondly the delicious Cocido they serve with every meal. This establishment is a must when in west El Paso. Thank you! read more

Very good food, the red chilaquiles are excellent for breakfast. Service is consistently great.

Do not and I say do not order the papas and chorizo here they do not make it with cubed potatoes they use hash browns it comes greasy asf it taste like they chewed it for you in the back and placed it on a plate very disappointed at you La Malinche you cannot make traditional Mexican food like this I will not be returning to this location and PS the server should of told how it was made since it wasn't on menu shame on you too server read more

My mother and I decided to have lunch here yesterday and our experience was horrible. My mother ordered the machaca and to her dismay she found a hair in it. The waitress was more than apologetic , but when it was time to pay the owner was very rude. She provided no discount or even an apology. When we brought the situation up to her she said "oh I thought you just didn't want to pay." Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

The service is friendly, efficient & attentive. They get the food out quick & piping hot & never fail to refill your drink or the complimentary basket of chips & salsa. The chiles rellenos were gooey and cheesy and smothered with a red sauce that was slightly spicy. Yum! Also recommended is the Hamburger steak, which is a beef patty covered in queso sauce. Sounds weird. Tastes UNREAL! read more

The quality of our Doniphan Drive location has gone way downhill in recent months. On our last visit over the weekend, the tables were dirty, the floors were filthy, and there were dead roaches in the corner. The chicken in my chicken salad consisted of little dry spindles of "meat" and the lettuce was browning. I don't know why, but the quality of this place has just plummeted. read more

Great food, low prices, friendly staff. What else could you ask for? Try the huevos rancheros or machaca for breakfast. For lunch: (surprise) great hamburgers as well as enchiladas with red sauce. Don't forget to add a fried egg on top (very El Paso-ish)! read more

This is not the first time this place and location disappoints, but it will definitely be the last. It seems like every time we eat here the quality gradually gets worse. Decided on menudo on Sunday morning. The waitress which was doubling as cashier, was wearing a shirt so opened in the front, it was completely inappropriate and made me embarrassed to even talk to her. Her chest was overlapping everywhere. So she finally brings us silverware, only to see that it's dripping with what looks like soggy bread. It was quickly replaced, and we waited at least 20 minutes... for menudo. When it finally arrived, it was cold. Never again. read more
