My kids ordered their avocado toast That came with two pieces of toast, smothered in avocado, fried eggs, spinach and strips of bacon. Back to the menudo. It was a big bowl full of a deep and flavorful broth. It was loaded with pozole and strips of tripe. The bowl came with two buttered slices of bolillo. Plenty of train station themes, I think there were a lot of clocks on the wall - but I don't think that they were working... or that they were on time. I noticed a couple of plates that I would want to try... the chicken fried steak, the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs on top, peach cobber side, the fresh biscuit with chipotle butter. It all looked good. The breakfast tacos seemed basic, but a lot of folks ordered them - they must know. There is seating inside, table and bar, and outside under the shade. There may be a few other places in town, but none of them truly compare. My go to fillings are deshebrada, chile relleno, picadillo, chile colorado, chicharrón verde, colitas de pavo, and carnitas. Everything is seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of heat and spice. The menudo is always incredibly flavorful, and the tamales are outstanding soft, moist, and delicious, with the perfect meat to masa ratio. They're also very generous with the meat, which I really appreciate. The service is another thing that makes this place special. The staff is always friendly and efficient, keeping the line moving without ever making mistakes on orders a rare thing these days. You can feel how much pride they take in their work. On top of that, the restaurant is family-owned and has been passed down to the kids, which gives it an even more authentic, homey feel. One of my favorite things about this place is the ambiance. It feels like a time capsule that hasn't changed much since it first opened, and that's a good thing.
