Mi Pueblito Cafe is tucked in an older neighborhood business plaza. We ordered Menudo (its made fresh daily, not frozen). It came with buttered toasted bread and the condiments on the side. We also ordered the Bacon wrapped Shrimp dinner. Each shrimp had a slice of green chile or jalapeño tucked inside. It was so good! The bed of Spanish rice was like my Nana Lúpe used to make! The website says open until 8pm however when I called to make reservations, I was told they close at 7pm. We arrived within the hour and the ladies and kitchen served us without rushing us. Service was really good and friendly. Ambiance was really nice. Food was delicious. I never knew there was a Mexican noodle soup. It was pretty good. It was nice for a chilly morning. The Enchiladas were delicious! The red and green sauce was really good. I think you should just pick one or the other even if it's your first time. The portions were perfect! I had chicken enchiladas and they were stuffed! Eggs made perfect and everything was seasoned perfectly. The beans were just ok but everything else was delicious. Even the iced tea was good. Visited July 25th 2024 I can not even say how much I loved this place. I don't even remember the last time I had true, authentic Mexican food. I felt like I was back at my Ama's house waiting for the tortillas to heat up before chowing down. Everything was delicious and with any cross country road trip, I am so sad that I don't know when I will be back again! read more

What a nice surprise to come across this spot while searching for somewhere on Yelp to deliver lunch. All of the family really enjoyed their food and we'll definitely order again or visit in the future. Ordered a Gordita plate, nachos supreme, a beef flauta plate, the green enchilada plate with chicken and a small cup of tortilla soup. All options were a hit! My personal favorites were the gorditas and the flautas but other family members had the nachos and enchiladas as their favorites. The tortilla soup was a hit for everybody. The restaurant was highly recommended by family when we visited El Paso. The atmosphere was classic old fashioned mexican hacienda style. Upon entering there was a buffet station to the right with all the staple foods. Chilaquiles (red and green), chorizo and egg, carnitas, rice and beans, huevos and la mexicana, chicharrón en chile verde, omelette station, pancakes, bacon and sausage. Sweets of different kinds. We ordered off the menu and I had a machaca plate, my wife ate chorizo con huevos. Both were very delicious . Coffee was on point. Our waitress was kind and friendly. First time in this tucked away place off montwood. clean place clean restrooms unlike wing daddies. So got the good vibe going, eating the freshly fried warm tostadas. The salsa looked like red tomato sauce and it was not spicy at all. Wife had the fish soup (not a fan of it anywhere) and had a weird after flavor like burnt chipotle. I don't know tasted weird. My tacos lacked the fried crunch i so desire, but had plenty of shredded beef that i forgot about it. They needed a little salt which is fine, and the beans and rice were pretty spot on. Price is not bad for two with drinks, $39 with tip. Waitress was attentive but then again it wasn't very busy. Great place! Starting with the pueblito aesthetics, this place was so cute and inviting. The food was great; I had the Chile relleno burrito with extra crispy tortilla. We also tried the steak and eggs plate, yum! The steak was cooked exactly how it was ordered. The Toreado dip was such a great complement to the chips, and I even used it as dressing for my side salad. Big shout out to Raul, our server, who in spite of his young age, he impressed us with his exceptional costumer service skills. He was polite and kept checking on us, refilling our coffee, and making himself available for whatever we needed. Came here with my wife for brunch on a thursday while on a road trip across the US. the food was great! She got the chorizo egg plate which looked delicious. I got juevos rancheros. The portion size was perfect. I was a little confused because it came with a gigantic bowl of queso dip? but it was all delicious so no complaints! coffee was hot, server was great, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. This quaint little Mexican brunch cafe may be tucked away on the quasi-busy streets of Trawood, but it's certainly proof that stellar comfort food can come from small places. I was in the mood for a sit-down breakfast. But as of late, I've been getting tired of the usual suspects like IHOP (always crowded), Denny's (good, but a bit pricey) and Village Inn (can't make hash browns to save their asses). Clearly, it was time for something new. So, I decided to go on a little adventure. Mi Pueblito Cafe is just like your traditional Mexican breakfast/brunch done right. And while it's not perfect, it's certainly miles ahead of New Clock on Dyer. Like most Mexican places, they start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. Now, I'll tell you....I've had a lot of salsa in my time. I've seen red salsa. I've seen green salsa. But I don't recall ever seeing brown salsa...till today. But don't let the looks deceive you. That stuff packs a punch and really compliments the chips. Everything tasted homemade, though the chips were slightly saltier than I'm accustomed to. The best thing I'd say this place has going for it is how they offer both traditional Mexican as well as American breakfasts. Like a pinche gringo, I ordered the classic Bacon & Eggs (no beans, cuz...yuck!). So, how was it? It got the job done. I really don't have too much to say about it, except the hash browns could have used some seasoning. They were somehow more bland than the hash browns at Village Inn. But I can appreciate them cooking my bacon well done just as I asked. The eggs looked smaller than expected, but tasted alright. Their toast....was....odd. It's as if the toaster was on the brink or perhaps they grilled it and forgot to flip 'em. Because it was only toasted on one side. Still, it was browned to my liking, so it was nice not to receive albino toast (y'all know what I'm talkin' about). A couple of minor complaints: First, their parking lot is abysmal and tiny. I'm talkin' Rhode Island tiny. And second, it took ages to receive my breakfast. Considering breakfast doesn't normally take long to prepare anyway, combined with the fact that this place was only moderately occupied at the time, I don't understand why I had to wait 45 minutes for bacon and eggs. No wonder the chips and salsa thing is a tradition for most Mexican restaurants. It's a clever way to buy some time in the kitchen and not leave customers totally famished. Still, I had to fight the urge to finish the entire basket because those chips were good as f-...fudge. Good as fudge. Yeah. Overall, the food is pretty damn good and the prices are very affordable. Even the coffee was decent. MCP is worthy of 4 crispy baskets of chips and salsa out of 5. Perhaps next visit I'll try one of their breakfast burritos. read more

When we stopped they were doing pick-up orders only. Although we called our orders in advance, we still waited almost 25 minutes for them to bring out our breakfast orders. 1-Star food at best. The food was just really Bland. I've heard good things about this restaurant but unfortunately none of what I heard actually lived up to the hype. The huevos rancheros were just regular eggs scrambled with a pinch of rancheros sauce on them. Same with the Chilaquiles but everything was soggy and just had Zero flavor! Nothing tasted good...just a bland breakfast as if the cooked had never cooked before.. The saddest part about the whole experience was our food was Cold the moment they handed it to us. Came early to their breakfast buffet which starts at 9 and we were eating by 855! Everything was delicious, the service was amazing, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee refills and an all around great experience. Will definitely be back the next time on our way through El Paso! read more

Can't go wrong with the red or green enchiladas n' huevos plate. Covers the entire plate with melted cheese dripping off. The American Big Breakfast is my favorite with the 10" pancakes. I went around 1130 so there was a significant amount of people, they were very short staffed. And although they were short staffed they were doing amazing job. I waited maybe 20 min to get seated right away they got my order and maybe within 15 min of ordering I had my food hot and on the table. The waiter kept apologizing because they were short staffed and that's why everything was taking so long but honestly within an hour I was in and out. I will be coming again everything was amazing! The salsas were so good and spicy, the way I like them. The coffee kept coming and was delicious. I ordered the red chilaquiles and it came with eggs, beans and hashbrowns. The portions are pretty substantial. The red chile fir the chilaquiles was flavorful and not too spicy. My husband asked for the ranchero eggs and they were delicious as well. I came here yesterday (Friday) because I wanted to find some caldo for my mom because she is sick and she wanted caldo de pescado. It was my first time coming here so I decided to give it a shot because the items on the menu and pictures on yelp sold me. I did a pick up order so I ordered a gordita plate and caldo de pescado for my sick mom. The older man at the front entrance was super nice and the girl employee at the register was also very friendly. The atmosphere was very welcoming and I just simply liked that it was clean and organized inside. When I went home my Gordita plate looked so delicious but I definitely made the mistake of getting chicken and it seemed kinda dry. Next time I'll get ground beef or deshebrada. My mom said her soup was delicious but there was NO fish (pescado) in it what so ever. I didn't believe her till I saw for myself and sure thing it was just literally one tiny piece of fish. Kinda ridiculous for $9.99 for practically just vegetable caldo when we ordered caldo de pescado. Maybe we would've had a different experience on the food had we sat inside the restaurant. Don't know how this place has a 4-Star average rating. Wanted to try something other than Cuñados or Julio's for breakfast and decided to give Mi Pueblito a try based on the reviews. Ordered the Ranchero Eggs. It was more like Ranchero Egg; one egg on a single corn tortilla. The "ranchero" sauce was like nothing I've ever had. It was this yellow sauce that resembled a watery Velveeta and Ro-Tel. It had one slice of chile and a slice of onion. Just weird. The hash browns were cold and the portion was puny. The beans were decent, but the flour tortilla tasted like it was from a store bought package. The fountain drinks were flat, so had to replace with a bottle of Mexican Coca Cola. This was the least impressive huevos rancheros I have probably ever eaten. It was disappointing, because this is supposedly one of their signature dishes. I ate it because I was hungry, and still left hungry. The only saving grace was the friendly and attentive server. I will be scratching Mi Pueblito Cafe off my list. read more
