$25 for a very small steak and shrimp fajitas with awefull looking canned beans, flautas were tasteless my wife did not eat the rest after tolerating eating only one. Too expensive for small portions and horrible food! And margaritas ....$17 dlls ? Wow!!! I'll never go back to the one on mcgruger read more

We were in town for a few days to visit family for the holidays and couldn't believe how early many places close on Sunday night! Unfortunately the place we really wanted to eat at closes early on Sundays. So we hesitantly decided to go to Carlos & Mickey's since it was open. My boyfriend said the margarita was good but the food was very subpar. We added the free salsa that came with tostadas to the guacamole. It needed something to give it a decent taste. Then my flautas were not very good. I asked for more salsa so they brought me a different version. The salsa made the flautas somewhat more palatable. My boyfriend had a combo plate and ate it since he was hungry but didn't say he really liked anything on it. I say this to those from out of town esp when visiting for events like the Sun Bowl, there are other restaurants that serve fantastic Mexican food in El Paso. You truly should consider those! read more

We had a large party and forgot to make a reservation or at least call in advance to see if we could be all seated together, but after a short wait, the staff was able to seat us. They immediately brought out some salsa and chips. Now I can eat that salsa like it was some soup. It was so delicious and slightly spicy. But you can tell it was homemade and not store bought thankfully. We also ordered large pomegranate margaritas which were very tasty. We were also told if we could not finish them, we could take them to go, which was a plus. Since it was a very large party, everybody ordered various items. I ended up ordering their fish tacos which were just "ok." In my opinion, the fried fish helping was too small in comparison to the tortilla and it wasn't seasoned. I more than likely would not order this dish again. But the restaurant itself along with the staff were great and very accommodating. It was very packed and they also had live music. It was a great atmosphere. read more

This place was hard not to like when you walked in. We were sested quickly and our waitress was quick to get our drinks. I ordered the fish tacos and should have picked something else. The fish was bland and without the spicy sauce I would have felt like I was chewing air. I didn't even eat my last taco. Thankfully it wasn't super expensive. Service and setting good. My food, not good, would go back to try something else but would not recommend the fish tacos. read more

This historic restaurant has what many are looking for as it is always packed. The food is good and personally I think the salsa is lacking the spice to it. So I give it 4 out of 5 stars. There is a lot of history here as soon as you walk in. There are photos of some famous or respected people who have dined here before. I'll take some pictures next time I'm here. They have a bar with your favorite drinks, alcohol and non-alcoholic. read more

Back to Carlos & Mickey for their lunch special. A breaded Milanese chicken with rice and beans. Mama Mia quel savor! The service from Bernardino was welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is always back to the 60s Mexican Paradiso with so much memorabilia. It is a colorful bright and comfortable historical journey back to the days of Pancho Villa! Great place with wonderful ambience. Makes you feel like you are in Mexico. The pina colada is delicious. There are a lot of vegetarian options in this place. Hubby and I went for a slightly-early anniversary date. Yes, I know this place isn't cheap, but it was a celebration. They sat us quickly in a booth that felt very comfortable and private. We ordered the chili con queso, which was delicious after I added some of the salsa to it. He had the shrimp, chicken and steak mixed fajitas and was in heaven. I went crazy and had the giant margarita, which I didn't even quite manage to finish. We really splurged and had the sopapillas for dessert, which were soft pillows of deliciousness The service was impeccable - stopping by often enough without feeling like they're rushing you. When my husband asked for a little more sweet & low for his iced tea, they didn't skimp and bring 2 or 3 packets like most places, but a whole handful, in a little bowl. This place is pricey, but the ambiance and service made it worthwhile for a celebratory meal. read more

Ok I'm not sure how this place has 3.8 stars. Now you all know I try and find at least one or two good things to say about a place but in this case I am truly struggling. I guess the place appears clean. Now let's hit the food. 1. This is el paseo, TX..10 min from the border. So Mexican food u need to bring it(even at the airport) this is the first impression you make on visitors and this place is about as good as Taco Bell..wait I take that back. I would take Taco Bell over this place 2. Their "nachos" read carefully. They are actually tostadas with beans and cheese. But maybe this is how TX does nachos?? 3. I tried to order a hamburger and was told it only comes well done. That's a red flag that this food is all frozen and pre made DONT DO IT!! 4. Hey I'm in a Mexican restaurant let's do tacos. Hell, even I can't mess those up...surprise they can. They don't have asada but they do have shredded beef...now I've eaten pig and cow most of my life and I'm 98% sure their beef is actually pork . The 2% is because I didn't actually see the animal so I can't be 100% sure. The plate came out so hot they wear oven mits . Can you say "they put day old food straight in the oven, plate and all?" It's tacos for darn sake. Why it the plate hot? The tacos came out part hard(maybe stale)and part soggy. Soggy most likely from the grease of the pork? Please please do yourself a huge favor if u are ever in El Paso and avoid this place like it's a $2.00 hooker that is charging extra for a side of herpes Wait..I would really take the hooker over eating here. read more

The atmosphere was awesome, really enjoyed the bar area. The food was average to above average. Menu was big, plenty to choose from. We had the enchiladas and pastor tacos. Enchiladas were a little light on the seasoning side for the chicken and beef. Pastor tacos are on the menu alright, but also lacking the distinct pastor taste. read more

I came here twice and got the same thing both times. Their flautas are delicious and all of the bartenders agreed that it was their favorite item. They also have really good queso dip! Came here for lunch today with my girlfriend after being referred by my boy Raul and everything was amazing. Nara was our waitress and she went above and beyond in every way, she was extremely friendly attentive and courteous and easily made today one of the best dine in experiences for me to date. Carlos & Mickey's - The debacle and reminder of our night. They ripped us off. - Mexican Near Me - El Paso, Texas

Went on a Friday evening. Our wait time for the food wasn't too long but the wait time for a table was about 37 min, I think they're short-staffed. Anyways, I ordered the fish tacos which I didn't get a picture of since I was starving and my wife got the tortilla soup, she said it was pretty tasty, I'd rank my tacos 7.5/10 only because I'd rather them be made with soft tortilla, either corn or flour, but instead they fry a corn tortilla until making it hard, but still, they were tasty and came with beans with cheese and rice. Will be going again in the future since my wife saw those huge margaritas and wanted one but she's pregnant now. By the way, the drink in the picture is a non-alcoholic mango daiquiri. read more

Great food, Great atmosphere and Great Staff. Our waiter was friendly just very slow. Food did not disappoint.

Delicious gorditas with ground beef and fresh vegetables. The restaurant is also very large and they have both indoor and outdoor seating.

We took a friend from out of town and it was perfect. Great service, great atmosphere, and good food. We will be back.

Soon as we walking in i felt the ambience/vibes were vibin. I look at Cristina from across the table and think to myself "i would like to vibe w her forever; I hope the food pleases her". The chips and salsa to start were on point in both of our opinions. She came for tortilla soup which she had been craving but was too lazy to make herself. I ordered the Jalisco plate which came with a little bit of everything cause I am very indecisive. Cristina's came out first because the server misunderstood my order but I'll take blame for that. She tried it and then had me try it right after. The warmth, flavor, and consistency of the tortilla w the cheese was everything I wanted to experience when i tried it.. but of course Cristina hit me with her famous and always accurate line, "it's mids, i could make it better." Now don't take this as me saying you'll find tortilla soup better anywhere else. I want to make it clear when I say Cristina's cooking is exclusive to ME. So good luck! And everything on my plate really was mids(enchilada, taco, and chicken tostada) Cristina loved the beans tho! Our accurate rating was (3.2) read more

I was stranded in the airport. I was sad. This airport is so tiny with so little to offer. What was I to do to pass the time until my (very delayed) flight? I guess I'll eat something. And if that somrthing wasn't going to be izza hut or Starbucks, it would be this. Luckily, the food here turned out to be pretty decent! I had a green chili burrito that tasted really good and came with some salsa and guacamole for free. The price was low, the portion was large. Best part of this little airport. read more

Almost always my last stop in El Paso each time I visit and it never disappoints. It might now be the best, most authentic Mexican around, but it's probably the best in an airport. I always order the enchiladas and the mole sauce is definitely on point - as well as the margaritas. read more

I reaaaallly wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful and our service was amazing. I had some fish tacos that were hard and dry so I called and asked if I could get a replacement plate & the manager was so sweet and apologetic about it! But everything me and my partner ordered was sooooo dry and lacked bold flavors. We also got a gallon of margaritas to go and they were so overly sweet it made both of us sick after having two glasses. Coming from a tequila lover... we ended up pouring out the entire gallon which kind of broke my heart lol. So the service was amazing and I'm sure there are great dishes on the menu but the things we ordered ended up in the trash I wish I could try again but I live in Houston so it's not likely. read more

Service was NOT existent. I got my own silverware, my own drink. Food was super Bland. Definitely NOT recommended at all.

This review is specifically about Carlos & Mickeys Express at the El Paso airport. You will get Mexican food here unlike any you have eaten before. And not in a good way. It was actually terrible, and poor value for money. The shredded beef burrito had one ingredient in it: shredded beef. Tough and stringy. They have the opportunity here to serve you something like you get at Chipotle or Qdoba, but they don't do it. Avoid. If you want Mexican food, wait till you leave the airport or get back home. read more
