I've now had Ray and his team complete two projects for me. Both times Ray was extremely communicative and kept me looped in to timing, costs, and setting my expectations (I live in an old house, so you never know for sure how things might go once walls open up). Our first project was removing some damaged exterior and re-stuccoing. Good communication on expectations and it looks great! Next, I had Ray and team take on my bathroom. The team was timely and was able to do the work in a way that allowed me to use my bathroom as long as possible (as I only have 1 bathroom). They brought my attention to things that needed to be done in certain ways for best practices, and also listened to my wishlist. The upgrades look stunning! Thank you Ray! I'll def have your crew back. read more

SOS Handyguy Solutions did an exceptional job on our bathroom remodel. Their work was meticulous and their bid was significantly lower than their competitors. The bathroom they worked on was hideous prior to the remodel, and the transformation after they completed the job was absolutely miraculous. They replaced the tub, the linoleum, the vanity, created a linen closet, reframed the window and installed a new mirror. Ray was so helpful and responsive to questions, and was unbelievably kind. We only had a week for them to complete the work before new tenants moved in, and he went to countless Home Depot's looking for the new tub we needed. He paid for supplies out of his own pocket and was fine with waiting for reimbursement for a couple of days. He and his crew worked from 9 am to 6 pm on Thanksgiving to make sure the job was done in time. He did everything in his power to make the process easier for us. As a property manager, I've encountered some amazing contractors over the years, but Ray blew them all out of the water. He really went above and beyond to provide the best work possible. I would love to give him more than five stars...a few hundred would be more accurate! read more

Ray, the contractor, returned payment in full. He felt there was a misunderstanding and took full responsibility. He was a gentleman about the situation acting honorably. read more

Frank and his team did a fabulous job changing the floor and shower tiles in the master bathroom. The finish was outstanding and Frank stayed very close to the progress of the project throughout. The implementation time was less than a week and Frank made sure all punch list items were addressed to my satisfaction. read more

We were really pleased with our experience working with Ray and his guys. It started when we were dealing with a few issues - window and electrical, and Ray was quick to respond, then come out to assess the situation. At that time, we showed him some kitchen upgrades that we were going to want done and asked him to quote the work as well. At that time, he provided some recommendations for us to consider in re-designing the kitchen that we hadn't thought of. We appreciated his vision and found his quote to be reasonable, so we went with him for both projects. As an aside - there were two other contractors I spoke with and getting a quote from both of them required multiple follow-ups over the course of a few weeks. Again, Ray was quick to respond and offered a quote shortly after his visit. Over the course of the projects, Ray was always communicative as to when his guys would be at our place, and in some cases, managed us to make sure we were on track for making decisions. He was extremely consultative throughout the process, and sensitive to quickly wrapping up so we could get on with life again. And, we're very pleased with the end result! We look forward to working with Ray and his team on our next project! read more

We hired him to work on a small bathroom. The job involved replacing the flooring and subfloor, vanity, mirror, light and painting. It took him over a week. This should have been a two day job. He never showed up on time and frequently sent other people, some of whom couldn't speak English. The quality of the work was bad. Paint lines were messy, plate covers, shelves, even the toilet was installed crooked. The killer though was the faucet installation. His worker installed it with the hot and cold on opposing sides. He "fixed" it by twisting the controls. See photo. We had to call a plumber to fix his work. read more

I have just been blown away! Sent out a request for a small job to have an outlet installed in a bathroom, low on the wall close to the toilet. We are having an electric toilet installed at a later date. Level Up Construction was one of the companies who the request was sent to. They just left and did an amazing job! Installed the outlet (of course had to cut into the drywall to fish the electrical lines). When they called me to look at the completed project they had fixed the holes and I couldn't tell they had ever cut into any of the wall! I thought we would have to have another person come and fix the drywall and they did it all! No painting, no nothing else. Totally amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend Level Up Construction. Very professional, cleaned up everything when finished. So nice. read more

Ray is the man. Call him right now and don't waste your time reading any more reviews, you're going to have a great experience and the work will be quality. Ray has installed 5 light fixtures in my house (all of them complicated installs in a ceiling that had very little space for wiring), built cabinets in our media room along with shelving, installed a counter on those cabinets, removed and put in a new front door and back door, installed recessed lights, and installed a barn door for us. Every time our house needs a little something, Ray is there to help. He's our guy for pretty much everything and we'll keep calling! read more

Update: company has yet to reach out and remedy the unfinished work. Now the stucco has large cracks forming. Had to borrow a truck to take the debris to the dump (which cost less than what company quoted if we wanted them to do it) read more

Ray and his team removed some cabinets and installed a range hood for us. They also fixed up a side gate next to our house that another handyman worked on several months ago before leaving us in the lurch. Ray did an excellent job and although I had to do some sanding and touch up myself, I had planned on painting our kitchen and cabinets anyway so it was no trouble. I will definitely be requesting him for more projects around our house! read more

Ray and his team did a great job swapping out our old tub shower and replacing it with a walk-in shower. Ray was with us every step of the way including meeting us at the tile place in order to help us make our tile selections. His team was professional, the job was completed on time, and they cleaned up every day. We couldn't be happier with our new shower. read more

I hired this contractor because originally I liked his responsiveness. The first phase-contract work was fine. After I hired him for a second phase of my home renovation, his responsiveness and communication lessened and change orders increased. He also seemed annoyed and insulting to me at times to deal with my questions and requests for progress updates. The technical work was fine- there were a few issues with the crown moulding. I would recommend get all your items in writing and scope of work written in great detail and insist on clear communication - to avoid unexpected additional costs and change orders and to avoid miscommunication and misunderstandings. read more

Would give 6 stars if we could! Absolutely fantastic results and am so happy that we decided to go with Ray and his team. We had several home projects and all three were quite different. We had a front door repair job, a large hanging flower box project, and a need to restain our pergola and build an area for an outdoor TV. Ray's team arrived promptly every day, offered their recommendations on key areas of the project, and completed the jobs to perfection. Also, he finished all projects in a COVID safe way, fully masked, and with all precautions taken. We highly recommend Ray and his team, and look forward to starting our next project with him in a few months! read more

Sadly, we had an appointment booked today from 2-4pm and he did not show up despite confirming over a week ago. I had to call them to be told it was not included on the schedule. I was reassured when he said he would stop by around 7-7:30pm. Again he did not show up and didn't even call to cancel. Completely unprofessional. We waited over a week to make sure that we were getting a good deal but clearly it wasn't worth it! We DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Did an adequate job for some minor electrical/plumbing work. But beware hiring them for any tile floor/repair work. After spending 5 days at my house on a repair that should have taken 1-2 days, they quit without finishing. It became obvious that SOS did not spec/estimate the job correctly and did not have the ability and time to perform the job correctly. Very poor quality work. read more

Wow! Ray goes above and beyond! Picked up the key from our place in the city and drove back to Lafayette at 9pm to install 3 ceiling fans and fix some squeaky floors so we could move in the next day with this project complete. Ray is great! I sent a quote request on Saturday night at 11:30p. He replied quickly and was able to come out Sunday morning at 8:30a. He got the job done fast and at the quoted price. Ray is a true professional--him and his team's work is excellent. He gives you an accurate estimate, which can't be valued enough (our previous contractor substantially underbid all other contractors including Ray but ended up charging us more than Ray would have). We released our initial contractor, hired Ray, and Ray finished under budget. He and his team finish work in an efficient and timely manner. They bought everything for the job and provided me with receipts to account for everything purchased. I had complete trust is Ray's project oversight as he would text me pictures along with regular updates. Overall, I did not have any headaches working with Ray, he does not cut corners, and he keeps his word. We will definitely continue to work with Level Up Construction in the future. Some work that Ray and his team performed for our office (a large variety): creating new office rooms (drywall, etc.), creating and placing glass transoms, complicated electrical wiring (Ray is a trained electrician and he saved us from paying for the mistakes of our previously released contractor), custom made door frames and placing doors, trim/crown molding (including some artistic requests). read more

I just rented out my house and last minute I was having an issue with my front door. I went on Yelp and Ray responded in a timely manner. Not only was he able to come the same day, but he did a great job. I was so pleased with his customer service that I ended up hiring him for a few other things for the house. These days it's pretty difficult to find reliable people and Ray has absoutely shown that he is. He really tries to work with you on your scheduling and budget and I would highly recommend him. Ray and his helper did great work. Our project was replacement of an exterior door. He came in advance to take measurements and discuss the door replacement with us. Since he was busy on another project, and we were flexible, scheduling was not an issue for us. He kept in text contact and arrived to do the repair within two weeks of us first contacting him. He found a fantastic used replacement door to keep our costs down. He charged the quoted price plus $100 door cost. We would use him again. read more
