Well, I really wanted to like this place. I love the atmosphere. I am a huge fan of reusing and celebrating old buildings. The choices that seem to have gone into the reuse of materials and the decorating style get 5 stars from me. The two staff members we interacted with couldn't have been any nicer or more attentive. From the first greeting to saying goodbye, they were great. The plate presentation was unusual, but very attractive. All of that said, this is still a restaurant. I had a Brisket Burger. The burger itself on the pretzel roll was ok, but the Brisket..... I have lived in Texas all of my life. I have had Brisket from some truly talented pit masters, and I always judge it by the tenderness, smoke ring, and bark. This was mushy and wet (not moist, more like it was boiled?) and very pale with little taste. If this did start as Brisket, then what was done to it is borderline criminal. Overheard another customer talking to the owner (I believe), commenting on the unusual choice of cornbread waffles with the Chicken Fried Chicken, and her response was that she was from "up North", and didn't understand "Texas Toast" served down here. Maybe that is the issue. When you hear a name like "Let's Eat Texas" you are expecting food cooked a certain way, with a certain taste. Maybe they should rename it "Let's Eat New Jersey", at least then you would know what you were getting into. read more

I live walking into a place and all the workers in the establishment greet you. It's such a pleasant way to start the morning. Service is great even after paying the bill and staying to do some work the server is sure to check on us refill drinks etc. The food is tasty and fresh. We were in Killeen and about to head to a chain restaurant for breakfast. We decided to look for something local and I'm so glad we did. Let's Eat Texas is right in downtown in the middle of the revitalization area. They are farm to table and the environment is so cool. There is an open kitchen so you can see the food being made. We had the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito and both were great. The larger plates looked very good but we weren't very hungry today. Our server, Beth, was wonderful. Unfortunately the venue is the only nice thing about this establishment. The food is beyond bland. The Brisket had no flavor and was extremely dry looked more along the lines of pulled pork. The potato salad was extremely off putting seeing the potatoes were undercooked if they were cooked at all they taste like raw potatoes, seeing our waitress told us it would be served hot....... It was ice cold btw. The baked beans were mid nothing to talk about didn't finish them. Overall the food was extremely disappointing seeing the inside of the establishment was nice. Thought it would have been a hit but definitely one of the biggest flops I've had the displeasure to eat at. I ordered breakfast to go for my wife and I. My wife wanted biscuits and gravy but the person taking my order said, "We don't have any biscuits." What!? Then why is biscuits and gravy on the menu? So I ordered two regular breakfasts--eggs, bacon, potatoes. I asked do we get toast? She said, "Bread does not come w breakfast." What!? Never in my life have I ordered breakfast at a restaurant which did not at least include toast. This makes no sense. The breakfasts were good but this restaurant is strange. Not a good place to visit. I waited and waited for a table. My party of five just left without eating.

I accidentally found this place today, thanks to the Veterans Day Parade. It was cold outside and we had an hour to kill before the parade began. It's a cute coffee shop (with amazing blueberry muffins!) I can't wait to try the many options on the menu. You wouldn't believe how much room is in this place from the outside. Such a cozy atmosphere with WiFi. To enjoy the place more, I may go back just to work on some fun projects. An added perk that I will DEFINITELY be taking advantage of is the cooking classes that are offered here. A wide array of classes are offered at a reasonable price. I am excited to back! read more

Went here for the first time today. While the place looks great, the people there weren't very welcoming and the food we at was bland and not very unique. I'd say I could have cooked the meal better at home. They have very little for there vegan option as well. I will not be a return customer. I was so hoping we would have a new and just as good or better option for dining for this area which is so needed but if this is it I will be choosing something different. Lunch today at Let's Eat Texas. I thought this place would be busy but only one other table was occupied. This place was such a disappointment I hardly know where to start. I did not find it warm and welcoming. I had to ask several times for a menu and was finally told there were no menus. Someone scrounged up a menu and I ordered herbal tea, the brisket plate with coleslaw and baked beans. When the food arrived, there was a generous portion of brisket and only a minuscule amount of beans and coleslaw. The coleslaw had so much vinegar in it I couldn't eat it. The beans were cold and had jalapeno in it and I couldn't eat that either. The brisket was dry and cold. I'll just eat elsewhere. read more
