I've been to Maria's twice now, and the pictures are a mix from both visits (and yes, I absolutely started eating before taking a picture -- it happens ). My godson ordered a breakfast sandwich, but just a heads-up: you build it yourself. Not a dealbreaker, but that's why it looks like somebody already went in on it in the photo. My cousin had the banana French toast, which looked so good that I came back and ordered French toast for myself the second time. And let me say this: the French toast is made in-house and it is SO freakin' good. Like, the bread itself is made in-house. Soft, thick, lightly sweet -- absolutely my favorite thing here. That alone could get its own fan club. The potatoes are solid too, especially if you get peppers and onions added like my cousin did -- definitely levels it up. The only thing to note is that a lot of dishes don't come with sides automatically. If you want eggs, bacon, etc., you'll have to add them separately. Not a bad thing, just something to know so you're not surprised. Overall, the food is good, the homemade French toast is elite, and I'd go back again for breakfast without hesitation. read more

Our 1st time eating here and boy were we impressed! Food, DAYUUM it was DELICIOUS! We had the "Big Tex" and the "biscuits and gravy". Extremely happy with taste and portion sizes. Without a doubt you will leave satisfied with a full belly. Service, our waiter "Josh" was an absolute rockstar. He was the only Server but made sure our drinks were never empty and made us feel like we were the only customers in the restaurant (we weren't), just awesome service! Ambience.......We got the "Mom and Pop" type family run restaurant feel. A warm and inviting restaurant, with a great atmosphere, that serves good food and great service. Hidden gem? We will see. A couple more visits first. Overall, we really like this place and is now competing with "Poppas Cafe" as our weekend breakfast spot! read more

Didn't get the welcoming feeling when I went in the guy seemed bothered I came in. I saw a bunch of reviews about the French toast with banana's so that's what I ordered. They forgot the bananas and there was no powdered sugar anywhere. I went back in and they just cut a banana and put it in tray. Willing to give them another shot but if I feel like I'm not treated the same as everyone else it will be my last time. I live in Cove and get tired of going to Austin for good food so rooting for any small business here. Food wasn't bad at all but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Maria's place is home away from home. you feel like part of the family when you come in. they have games you can play with the kids while you wait for your food. The portion sizes compared to price are reasonable and the food tastes like a home cooked meal. You feel like you could sit here all day in the comfortable atmosphere. read more

I forgot to take pictures!! We came here to Maria's place, expecting breakfast like advertised. We hadn't been here in a couple of years. Previously this was known as Something In Between. Anyway, what we did not expect was the personalized service and the outrageously delicious food!! I can't tell you the last time we had such a good breakfast. I'm just sorry we didn't take photos. Hubs ordered grilled chicken and waffles. I had to try several things because I can never make up my mind. I had the gingerbread pancakes- WOW! Super treat for the holidays. I also had a side of fried chicken and blue corn grits. The grits are made with garlic and are so creamy and smooth. I added cheddar cheese and crispy bacon. So, so good!! Had Brunch here today with my family. We liked the food & service from our first visit, so this time we brought the rest of the family. Waiter immediately recognized us from our last visit & that's pretty impressive, considering we only came ONCE before :) I also love that it's Veteran owned, my husband is a Vet, so we LOVE doing business with Veteran owned establishments! I ordered the Cinnaffle (Cinnamon roll waffle) YUM!!! :P and I also ordered a Junior burger & fries just to try their lunch. Fries are nice & crispy! I think they make their own buns too. My Dad loves their Blueberry sausage! & my toddlers loved their bacon, waffles & fresh blueberries & strawberries. They also have bananas, but my baby doesn't really like bananas. So, it's nice that there's a variety of food kids can eat! My family enjoyed their food & EXCELLENT service from the entire staff, including our waiter! He was ON IT! We've loved this place since we moved here back in '21! In a town with so many chicken joints, the chicken here is by far the best! I always have the chicken & waffles and it never disappoints. They do have a grumpy server here, but we always sit in another area when she's working and the food offsets it. Easy peasy! read more
