The sugar cookies have a nice texture and flavor and look fabulous, regardless of the season or event the cookies are made for. The chocolate chip cookies are made with two flavors of chips and are dipped in either white or milk chocolate. How can you not love a cookie with all that delicious chocolate? Met Penny and was introduced to her business at a Yelp Elite event. I was able to do a cookie decorating class with her, which was SO much fun (and relaxing? lol). I've never been a huge sugar cookie person, but Penny's sugar cookies are sooooo good (not dry, great flavor) I decided to order some custom cookies with her for an upcoming meeting. The ordering process was super easy, and Penny did such a great job making these cookies fun and, of course, delicious. The chocolate dipped chocolate hop cookies are also wonderful and so pleasing visually! There are huge cookie chunks with a dash of salt. I will definitely be back to order more!! read more

Won this incredible journey of decorating again. Mom and daughter experience. Learned how to decorate different ways like wet on wet or wet then let it dry a bit and add more. Was so much fun. This is housed out of a building that is female owned and female supported. And let's discuss Penny! What a GEM! So helpful and patient. It was a great experience. I am so excited about my Christmas order from Penny Royal Bakery!!! The items she is offering are delightful!!! Be sure to contact her via her website or Instagram and get your holiday orders placed before she has maxed out!!! I wanted something special to add to my own tasty ( but rather drab) cookie trays. I ordered a Christmas Variety Tray, a few "Surprise" Gift Boxes to gift and a "Do It Yourself" kit so my local grands and I can sit down together and have some good old fashioned Christmas fun!!!! Christmas goodies bring so many wonderful memories for me. Back in the day my mom was an absolutely incredible baker. To this day there is no one (exception is my sister) that could make a scratch made pie from start to finish like my mom..... She would save "windowed" boxes year long and her Christmas Cookie gifting was known far and wide. Penny's kindness and giving spirit will make you feel comfortable immediately. Penny and her BFF/neighbor "JJ" collaborate and do lots of cookie decorating classes too. She will even come to you if you want to do a decorating party at your home. I met them at a Yelp Elite Fall Festival Event. (separate write up for that). I'm so happy to see these 2 women owned and operated businesses take flight in Leander!!! Penny is a lovely gal and so are her cookies! I first met Penny when she brought cookies for a function where I was volunteering. She also brought an amazing cake. I don't know if her company currently offers cakes, but lemme tell ya, her pistachio cake is AMAZING. My favorite thing that she makes are her Royal iced sugar cookies. Holy smokes, they're delicious! She also does cookie icing classes. I attended one of those and she is a great teacher. I am going to attach the cookies that I iced, but remember, this was MY WORK, not hers LOL. She preps all the bags of icing and just like a little kid, you get to enjoy the fun class without all the hard work. She also sells some cookies premade or you can purchase them for a special occasion. Minimum order is two dozen, but they are soooo worth it. I'd also say if you have a special occasion where you're going to be having kids around, consider getting one of her premade icing packages...that would take some of the stress out of the cookie icing experience for sure. Penny is a ray of sunshine and her cookies are delicious. My favorite are her chocolate chip cookies dipped in white chocolate and drizzled with chocolate. They are sweet and the perfect combo between crunchy on the outside and chewy towards the middle. I met her at a Yelp! event a few days ago. She taught us decorating techniques using royal icing. She's an amazing instructor. If she was closer to me, I'd definitely attend her classes. Support small business and order some delicious cookies from Penny. Was really amazed by the presentation, and everything that went into making these cookies perfect. The chocolate chip cookies are devoured by everyone within minutes. So glad I can but local and support this business.
