I've done a lot of baking and have some experience with different versions of buttercream frosting, and the frosting on my cake tasted like it was made mostly with shortening rather than butter. I know to get a white white frosting, shortening will often be mixed with butter, but the flavor should still be good, and this just wasn't tasty like I was expecting for a cake at the price that I paid. I will try them again for other items from the cafe, or cookies etc, but not another filled cake.

After the wedding, the groom and I took the six huge boxes of leftover food from dinner and gave them to a homeless man on a bench on S. Congress on our way back to our hotel, but we refused to share the cake. We took the top (which we were supposed to put in the freezer and save for a year, I think) of the cake into our honeymoon suite and ate half of it. With our hands. Classy, right?

They have regular-sized donuts, donut holes, kolaches, and mini-donuts. Another specialty is their glazed yellow donut (color from fresh eggs). Yeast-risen donuts. The double chocolate (cake style) mini-donut is my favorite. The bakery offers walk-up window service as well as drive-thru. They get really busy and are open 4:30 am-6:30 pm.
