a cake with a castle on it
    Kristen R.

First off, I will say that that Kayla was very kind and helpful during the initial cake tasting, and she communicated well and delivered the cakes to the venue on time. That being said, I was more than a little embarrassed by the appearance of both cakes. The pictures of the cakes she showed us looked nothing like the cakes she delivered. I wish I could post a picture of the groom's cake; it looks like a rectangular box that had been slapped with tar icing. It was supposed to be a galaxy inspired cake consisting of multiple colors like blue and purple mixed in. But it was just...black. And a black cake does not look very appetizing or cute. I can't believe I paid $208 for it. The total was $635 for both cakes. I asked one of the groomsmen if he could run to HEB to find a replacement for the cake, but there was not enough time. The wedding cake was ok. Once we put the flowers on it the cake looked much better. Again, it did not look like the cake that she showed us in her book containing pictures of cakes that she supposedly made. The wedding cake is a centerpiece and focal point of your big day. Don't make the same mistake I did.

While I love the ambiance, staff and selection, I was a disappointed with the cute, filled cake I bought. I've done a lot of baking and have some experience with different versions of buttercream frosting, and the frosting on my cake tasted like it was made mostly with shortening rather than butter. I know to get a white white frosting, shortening will often be mixed with butter, but the flavor should still be good, and this just wasn't tasty like I was expecting for a cake at the price that I paid. I will try them again for other items from the cafe, or cookies etc, but not another filled cake.

Immediately decided to come here for my daughter's birthday cake. I recently tried and failed at curating a beautiful but disgusting cake from a different bakery so I did not want to mess this one up! I called and the owner was very upfront about flavors, pricing, decor and overall cake chemistry, this transparency is so important! We ended up getting something simple but she truly delivered! Flavor profile was insane. Cake was soft and melt in your mouth delicious. When I say I hateeeeee buttercream with a passion and prefer whipped icing - primarily based on the fact that everyone likes buttercream and store bought versions are just gross to me - I was hesitant to try this one but BAYBEEEEEE. Stress no more. The flavor on this cake was definitely made with love and thats apparent in the service, delivery and overall preparation. Love love love and highly recommend you come here for special occasion based treats!! Well done team

The art, florals and colors are like a Pinterest board come true. One of the bests desserts I have had in a long time is the Ube Blondie. Seriously, outstanding. Not too overwhelming with any flavor, equal parts frosting and cake. The Magic Matcha blends matcha with butterfly pea tea and created the perfect blend of earthy colors & flavors to balance the sweet dessert. The pastry case has stunning macarons of which I tried the Earl Grey and Coconut Espresso. Both had a surprise burst of flavor in the center. There are plenty of reasons to come back including the Saturn's Surprise (in house only drink) or the Afternoon Tea. Treat yourself to a trip into the Unicorniverse and add some color to your world!

We were exited to take my niece to the 'unicorn place' and support a plant based shop. It was super cute and she was excited about the decor and unicorns. Came a little after 9am on a Friday, it was maybe half full, but it took about 40 minutes to get two lemon tofu toasts. I was patient until my niece was getting antsy, she finished her pastry, we both finished our mediocre coffees, still no toast... I checked and the Apple Pay time stamp went through more than 30 minutes prior. I asked staff if our toast was still coming and they replied rudely like I was being a jerk to even ask. Pagers for food when they went off were obnoxious beeping. Just give people a table number and carry it out to them. Maybe they have one little toaster and person in the back? That said once the food came, the tofu was DELICIOUS, and a large portion. We could have split it. Croissant was unimpressive as was their chocolate croissant. Macarons were tasty, but not with the signature chew that ones made with egg whites would have. $$ Two plain lattes, two lemon toasts, a chocolate croissant and 6 macarons with a $5 tip was $88. Pretty ridiculous, and I am used to California, Bay Area prices.

We got four different cake bites and not sure what this is called but it was like cake in a container, Oreo/Cookie Monster. The cake container was my favorite! The small cake bites, confetti, red velvet, strawberry shortcake, and I don't remember. Either wedding cake or vanilla. The cake bites were a mix of dry with what seemed no flavor, maybe because it was dry/old. The red velvet was more moist and delicious! I'd give the place another try but with fresh options. The employee was polite, very informative. It's a cute little shop, bathroom was in a separate building, not a far walk. Outside seating, in front and back of shop, vending machine with their products. Giving three stars because of how dry, possibly old the cake bites were. Again, I'd try again in hopes of options that are fresh. I assume on Monday they are baking fresh products that may not been out yet.
