The buttercream was slickly, smooth, creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. The cake was moist with a beautiful crumb - outstanding. I choose the Mexican vanilla cake with buttercream and filled with a fresh strawberry compote (which I got extra of to drizzle on the pieces, so glad I did) for the bottom cake and a chocolate cake with Nutella and hazelnut buttercream. My fiance and I decided on an intimate wedding with family and close friends so Lori provided realistic serving suggestions and options to fulfill our needs. She never tried to "oversell" us on the amount of servings and she provided various options for us to choose from (i.e. different combinations of cake sizes - 6" or 8", several cake sizes + cupcakes, etc). On her website (classycakesbylori.com), she provides a great variety of flavor options and customizations for customers needs. To be honest, as a first time cake buyer, I was overwhelmed. However, Lori was very patient with me and my fiance as she answered all of our questions and provided professional suggestions on popular cake/filling/icing combinations that past clients had enjoyed. For our cake tasting, Lori asked us to provide five (5) cake/filling/icing combinations (all options can be found on her website). At the cake tasting, she was EXTREMELY patient with us AND she provided two (2) more additional cake flavors. Out of the seven (7) options, we selected her husband's favorite flavor: lemon blueberry cake with lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream frosting for our wedding cake.
